Computer mice are generally a personal choice. You try them out and see which one fits your hand and offers the features you'd like ...but mostly it's the ergonomics that win over the choice. For me, it was the ergonomics; the M510 is the right size for my hand. It seems a bit larger ...longer in length ...than the other Logitech selections offered at my local BestBuy. Rather than being plump and bulbous the M510 is sleeker and longer ...my hand rests comfortably on the back part of the mouse and the click "buttons" and scroll wheel fall perfectly under my finger tips. The scroll wheel, through the Logitech "control center" software you download, will function in either direction; you can select which way to spin the wheel in order to scroll down depending on which way makes sense to you ....some folks are uppies and some are downies. The M510 does not work on glass topped desks or on mirrors ...which for me was not a factor. I have always purchased Logitech mice for my computing needs. Logitech offers the widest selection; I can always find the type, style and price point. The M510 continues the trend and I am very happy with it's form and function.

    Off-centered sensor :(

+ Tracking is good and doesn't skip + Range is about 2 rooms away ( my limit ) + Feels good in my hand ( i have long spider fingers). I'm always a fan of the ambidextrous form factor. + Non-sensitive side buttons that don't get easily pressed. - Rubber side grips are a bit stickier than other logitechs, but I got use to it. I like to be able to stroke the side of my mouse without it gripping too much. Personal thing. :) - Off-centered sensor. It is not bad as the M705, but the effects are still noticeable in this mouse. People that pivot the mouse a lot will notice it. During some applications and games, I have to switch to my old mouse (games such as Bejeweled, First-person shooters). It works okay in League of Legends if I'm just playing casually. Also, I'm the type of person who likes to swipe fast to icons with minimal adjustment. I find that this mouse adds a bit of extra movement, but it doesn't bother me much. Overall, it's performance is about less than, equal to average for gaming (i know its not intended for gaming), but really good for casual use since its wireless, feels good, and has smooth tracking.

Left Button Quit Working After Owning It 17 Days

I have had the M510 Mouse for 18 days and the left side button decided to quit working out of the blue after 17 days. I downloaded the software for the mouse in an attempt to fix it which didn't work. I also left the batteries out of my mouse for 24 hours and then placed them back in to see if that would fix things and it didn't. Then I tried a couple suggestions that were posted on the Logitech forums which were to clean the laser lens with a dry cotton swab. If this didn't work it was suggested to try taking the batteries out, then to hold down the left mouse button while clicking the right mouse button 5 times to reinitialize the mouse. None of the solutions I've mentioned worked for me. I also changed the batteries just to be sure so that wasn't the issue either. My previous mouse was a Logitech and I had it for 4 years without issue before the receiver broke. I take part of the blame for not reading more of the reviews here and elsewhere before purchasing this mouse. I should know better then to purchase something just because of who it's made by.

I read many reviews of many wireless mice and this one looked like the best fit for the bill. Unfortunately, it's too big and heavy/unbalanced despite my big hands, and it doesn't glide well on a variety of surfaces. My existing mouse isn't a mini, only just slightly smaller than an old wired mouse. It can easily be guided with my thumb and two mouse fingers, even on the microfiber couch arm on which I usually use it. Speaking of balance is somewhat of a misnomer, as to me, a mouse that's heavier toward the buttons than it is at the back makes a mouse easier to comfortably control with my fingertips. This M510 is much weightier in the back, and also has flanges/bulk/width which reduces palm/wrist contact with the surface to steady the hand while making fine movements. I wasn't expecting it to have an infrared laser, but it does have a green light on top to indicate its power state. This probably contributes to the fairly good battery life as IR lasers use less power. .All in all, perhaps for some people it's a decent mouse for the money, but unfortunately I won't be using it because I don't like it.

    Mouse of Greatness

Alright, I'm no mouse expert or a super tech-savvy person. I do, however, understand when a product performs well. This one does. Value for price: I got it on sale for $30 but I went to the store fully intending to pay the $40. Good price. Compatability: I haven't gone around testing it on other computers but it works perfectly fine on mine, Windows 7 64-bit OS. Design: Couldn't be much more simple. It's a mouse with a standard scroller. The scroll has its own right and left clicks and there are two arrow buttons on the side of the mouse that are not hard to reach at all. Also, the mouse size is pretty standard, not small but not big either so it should be comfortable for most people. Ease of use: Super simple. Plug the little receiver in a USB port, wait for a little bit, and you're ready to go. The only actual thing you have to do with the mouse is pull a battery tab out. Performance: Has not failed me at all. Sensitive and very receptive. Works on pretty much every surface. The range of connection is really good too. I could move the mouse from a few rooms away when I tried it. Overall, great mouse for the money, not lacking in any regard.

It's a full sized mouse that fits well in my average sized hands. The best feature is Logitech's Unify receiver which allows multiple Logitech devices to connect to a single dongle simplifying and uncluttering any setup. Awesome range; tested/works more than 30' away through my rack's and apt's walls!! Other nice features include left/right scrolling with the middle-button/scroll-wheel, and page back/forward buttons. I'm a lefty so the back/forward buttons are awkward and practically useless for me, but in my right hand, the button placement is perfect. Tracking is excellent and works on most surfaces I've tried including my leather sofa and wood dining room table (no luck on glass but I didn't expect it). I'm three weeks in on the Duracell batteries it came with, and I expect it to sip power like all my other Logitech devices; it should last anywhere from one to two months depending on use (I never turn my mice/keyboards off). Overall, typical, excellent Logitech quality, design, and functionality that I definitely recommend.

I have been using Logitech wireless mouse products for some time now. I have a smaller and lighter one for my laptop, and the M510 sits at my desktop permanently. I have used the M510 for several years now, and it has been a great product. So much so that I just bought another one as a backup when it went on sale for half price. It's a full size mouse and I like the way my hand rests on it comfortably with my wrist on a gel pad. The nano can be stored inside the battery compartment. The cover of the battery compartment fits firmly, but comes off easily. There is an on/off slider on the bottom of the mouse. I never turn mine off, and my battery still lasts a long time due to "smart sleep mode." The Unifying Software can be downloaded directly from Logitech: http://support.logitech.com/software/unifying You can find keyboards that are compatible with this unifyer at Logitech's website: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboards?sort=s4&filter=f1305 I'm not personally pairing mine with a compatible wireless keyboard. A unifying nano can be purchased separately off Amazon if something happens to the one that comes with the mouse.

Laggy Mouse. Extremely poor Customer Service

Lots of lag with this mouse. Called Logitech an they confirmed a bad mouse and noted to them that the firmware was different than my mk800 keyboard (which is awesome btw) and which they said should bot matter. So they set up an RMA and I have been waiting for about a month and a week now for my replacement. Haven't heard a word from them (ref #01634251 in case logitech combs these forums) I went on Amazon and bought a brand I hadn't ever heard of before called TechNet. Purchased a pro and a classic 9 bucks and 10 bucks respectively, and to my surprise they surpassed my expectations. No lag, instant recognition unlike the logitech. Super happy with them. I am just going to write off the logitech mouse for now as a loss, as I do not expect to hear back from them even though I have tried to reach back out as early as 3-18-2016 with no response. Logitexh may make some great keyboards, but their mice as well as Customer Service needs some serious looking into.

Wireless mouse works well, even with KVM switch

Was tired of mouse cord being tight because of routing over pull-out tray and through back of desk. Wanted to try a wirelss mouse but was concerned with my use of a KVM switch. Was involved in beta testing of AmigaOS 4.2 - yes AmigaOS is still in use and development - and so hooked my dual boot Linux/Windows 8.1 computer to my AmigaOne X 1000 via a KVM switch. To my delight worked right from that start. It is smooth in use - love my 3M microfiber mouse pad - and is sensitive to small movements. Only problem is that occasionally it seems to not quite align the signal and momentarily does not move the cursor. Happens very infrequently and quickly recovers. Also could be a little larger to better fit my grip. Highly recommended as good value for the money. Don't know yet about battery life.

I received an email alert for the Logitech M510 mouse on sale for $14.99, down from $29.99 (MSRP). In addition, I had a $5 certificate which I used, bring the price down below $10. And what a great mouse it is. I have recently been using a "mobile" mouse, which has a reduced footprint, and fits a smaller hand size. What a pleasure it is to grab onto this full-sized mouse. It has multiple buttons which can be programmed as needed. I really hate surfing the internet using a mouse that does not have a "back" button. The M510 has this and much more. It is one of Logitech's mice that use the Unifying Receiver. Basically, you can use a single receiver to handle communications with multiple (up to 6) devices (mice, keyboards, etc.). Operation of the mouse is smooth and sure. Button presses are reliable, scrolling is definitive. (My M705 mouse tends to "do its own thing" when scrolling.) It really is a joy to use. I think you'll be happy with this excellent performer from Logitech.

Good mouse for me and I hope for everybody. The logitech m510 is an excellent mouse for folks with big hands, has a great ergonomic feel and quality buttons etc. It is my favorite wireless mouse to date, but there is a flaw to look out for. The housing of the laser lens is very poorly designed, allowing the module to move rather freely in its socket. Due to stiffness and placement of the connecting wire inside, this will overtime allow the eye to move into an angle where your cursor reception becomes quite impaired. Fixing it is simple, open the mouse, and place some object thats about 1/8 of an inch thick between the connecting wire and the plastic to put pressure on it thus keeping the eye housing in its proper, parallel position. This should get your mouse working perfectly without any issues, I used a small piece of card board folded and stuck inside and it worked like a charm. Otherwise, I give this mouse a 10, have had it a year and still on the original batteries and I use it all day and rarely remember to turn it off when not using it.

I have used several wireless mice over the years and I must say I like this one the most. This mouse is larger than most wireless mice and is very comfortable to use. In my opinion smaller sized mice cause strain to your hands after long term use. The larger size and the ergonomic design allows you to rest your hand and fingers comfortably on the mouse surface and move the mouse around with great ease. My use of the mouse till date has been for standard features, point and click, scrolling and such. I have still to explore the other fancy features. I have had problems with other wireless mice draining battery at a much faster rate than I am comfortable with and I hope this mouse lives up to the claims of long battery life. Two things I wish were better designed - 1. The on-off button is a little too small and not very easy to use. You need to use your finger nails to move this button. 2. You need to open the battery compartment to tuck away the receiver which is a little inconvenient.

I bought this from BestBuy at a very good discount (more than half of its retail price) back in Nov 2012 as I need a full-size wireless mouse for my daily computing. It worked great at the beginning, but started to have intermittent scrolling problem. Mouse still work, just the scroll doesn't. I have tried the solution from Logitech's website, but it didn't solve the problem at all. The only solution was to reboot my Win 7 laptop. Anyway, the overall mouse built is great; side rubber padding, soft click. It has 2 extra buttons on the left for page up and down. I rarely use it as I find the movement (thumb) to click on them isn't that comfortable. The scroll isn't the best from Logitech; it isn't smooth like the scroll found in M325. The touch feeling of scroll wheel isn’t what you would expect from a high cost mouse… it just feel cheap. I guess the scroll feedback isn’t that good… or maybe I am being pampered with the M325 scrolling. Overall, if you are a person that does allot of scrolling, this isn’t a mouse for you… in another point; it is a good full-size mouse.

Many years ago I purchased a Logitech mouse, instead of an MS option. I was so pleased with that one, that I kept buying them, and when I, or someone I know needs one, I just go and grab one. You can't beat the price. This one is no exception. It works like a champ, right out of the plastic. Just plug it in, and within a minute or two it is doing exactly what it is supposed to. This one works from across the room, and I especially like feel of it in my hand. It definitely has quality built in. I bought two of these, because I liked the feel, and have placed my M310's in semi-retirement until they have a future use. These are awesome. Look no further than these if you want a quality item at a reasonable price.

I wanted to use one wireless receiver with my new Logitech Solar 750 wireless keyboard. As a mouse is not included as with the combo models. I called Logitech support and was given the Logitech Unifing receiver mouse models that would work with my keyboard I picked the 510. What the support person failed to tell me and no where in the instructions with keyboard or mouse, does it inform one that software is needed. This software can be found at logitech support on line. download drivers and system check. After you get the needed software installed on your computer. Their wizard will guide you through the needed inputs to get just one plug in receiver for your system. This is really good for laptops with few USB ports. This Logitech 510 mouse has great feel and works very well, downloaded software give one many options to use with the mouse. I would also like to recommend the new Logitech Solar 750 keyboard it's slim and has a great key feel, it also comes with a backup battery if needed.

I love the design, don't need to program a bunch of things as this is a multi-purpose mouse, not a gaming mouse... Works well whenever I use it, easily turn it on and off, and love using it instead of a touchpad...Had to adjust the mouse movement settings, but that was simple enough to make it more user friendly. I bought one for home use, one for work, and going to buy one for my parents if that says anything... They are plug-and-play, so there shouldn't be need for software unless it's time to get a new computer ; ) - worst case scenario, you should just need to re-start your computer once the USB adapter is inserted and the mouse turned on... Only gripe is that the movement gets choppy when the mouse is more than 10' away from the USB receiver...other than that, I'm perfectly happy!

I just bought a new laptop at best buy, and I wanted to buy a mouse to go with it. The store I was at allowed me to test the feel of the mice before we bought them, and I decided on the M510. The mouse looks great and it was a perfect fit for my hand. However, I could not get the mouse to connect to my laptop. The instruction manual was pretty much useless when it came to troubleshooting, as was Logitech's website ("Make sure your mouse is turned on..."). I downloaded the unifying software from the website, and ran it several times. I tried every single usb port on my computer (all of which are fully functional), but still could not get the mouse to pair. I took it back to Best Buy, and received a refund with no hassle or fuss, which I greatly appreciate. I picked up the microsoft wireless mouse 3000. When I plugged the usb dongle into my computer, Within a minute, the mouse was fully functional, with absolutely no work required. While not many people seem to be experiencing this issue, I will not be using any more of Logitech's mice.

I have owned and used both wired and wireless mice from just about every manufacturer on the market and none come close to the LogiTech series of mice, particularly their wireless versions. One might think that battery life in wireless mice is a problem, and it is in certain manufacturer's mice, but LogiTech neatly solves that problem with a "sleep" circuit that drops battery consumption to near zero during idle periods, yet it wakes immediately when the mouse is touched. My AA alkaline cells usually last more than a month before needing replacement. LogiTech's model MK510 is my preferred model of mouse because I have large hands, yet the sculptured shape of the MK510 also lends itself to smaller hands as well. I use this model on each of my three laptops and on my floortop computer at home. I highly recommend LogiTech products (their keyboards are fine too!), especially this model, the MK510.

I bought this mouse in January 2010 and it works great! It takes forever for it to consume all of the batteries' power. I only have to change the batteries every 5-6 months and I use this mouse all day. The best thing about this mouse is that it has a sleep mode so that when it is left idle it will basically turn off and has no problem turning back on once you move it (almost like it never went into sleep mode). This mouse is extremely durable, I have dropped this mouse on hard floor many times and it has yet to break. When the battery gets low the light next to the wheel will turn red, but even when that happens it will still work for a couple more weeks. The mouse is good for desktops and laptops.

I got a used M510 several years ago from an office recycle pile, put in a new battery and started using it. And using it. And using it. It is still in daily use. I just got another one to replace wired mouse on my wife's desktop. I plugged in the receiver, turned it on and it worked fine without dealing with any settings or software. There are specific features I like about he M510. It is full sized and fits my hand comfortably. It has just enough mass to be stable on a keyboard tray or pile of loose papers without jumping at the slightest vibration. The shape is sculpted just enough for good feel and functionality without being annoying. The battery life is great. I leave the thing on always, and it lasts for years. The M510 is great for a stationary computer but bulky to carry. I have a sleek, slim, mouse for travel, but it gives me hand cramps with extended use and it eats batteries if left on.
