Happy with the m705 so far (only had for a day). Gripping and scrolling is smooth and effortless, feels good in the hand due to ergonomic shape. I like the toggle switch to allow scroll wheel to momentum scroll for faster scrolling. However, two negatives for me are: 1) you need a mousepad if using the product on a wood surface; I've never experienced that before with an optical mouse; and 2) forget about using an older logitech keyboard with the unifying software, it doesn't pick it up; I'm stuck having to plug in 2 USB adapters - 1 for the keyboard and 1 for the new mouse which completely defeats the purpose of the Unifying software/hardware technology built in. Unfortunately I paid for it and will not be able to take adantage w/o buying a new keyboard which I will not do. This is why I am not giving this product 5 stars. Cost is on par with other similar-featured mice and won't break the bank. I would recommend this to a friend - especially if he/she can take advantage of the Unifying technology.

Purchased this mouse for my Macbook Pro to replace the horrible Magic Mouse. I mainly got this mouse for the long-lasting battery feature but was really pleased to see that it has so many other useful features for a Mac: 1. Brings back "right-click" (thank goodness) 2. Has a hidden thumb button that launches Mission Control 3. The scroll wheel can scroll left to right by pushing the wheel to either side 4. Control Center app allows you to configure almost every aspect of the mouse With all those positives you might be wondering why only 4 stars. The answer is due to an "over-active" scroll wheel. The scroll wheel seems to be mounted on bearings which although super-smooth, makes the wheel extremely sensitive. If I barely nudge my desk the wheel moves causing the page to scroll down. You can lower the speed of the scrolling but that doesn't change how physically sensitive the wheel is to movement so every few minutes I experience some ghost-movement where the page scrolls in a way that I didn't intend it to. Other than the scroll issue the mouse has so much more functionality than any Apple Mouse. Next time I get a mouse I will probably look for one that does not have the Hyper scroll wheel.

I was intrigued by the 3-year battery life for this mouse. I have used other wireless mice and need to charge batteries every two months or so. It will be nice not to have to worry about batteries for quite a long time. Performance of the mouse is good. However, I have noticed that it does not perform well on light-colored surfaces, such as a piece of blank white paper. I like the ability to switch the scroll wheel from a set number of lines to continuous scrolling with the push of a button. I have some spreadsheets that require significant scrolling from top to bottom. Very easy to click the button, and scroll the wheel and just let it run. Very handy. I've used the two side buttons only for doing page forward and page back on websites, and have not played with the software to reprogram anything. It's a good size for my hand, and the buttons and scroll wheel are easy to press. Overall, I like this mouse very much. I probably would have scored it 5 stars if it worked better on light surfaces.

This mouse works like you would expect a mouse to work so there's not too much exciting to say. It does have some extra features. There's a button near the scroll wheel that changes the scroll wheel setting from "clicky" to almost free-spinning. The free spinning wheel lets you scroll very fast through a long document or whatever, so if you have to do a lot of scrolling, it might be nice to have - we don't use it very much. There's also buttons on the side that apparently change function depending on what you are doing (or so says my gamer son). For my purposes, I have noticed that one of them works like the "back" button on my browser so I don't have to scroll up to the top and actually click the back button, I can just click the mouse button instead. Overall this mouse is comfortable to use. I probably could have gotten by with just a basic mouse but if you do a lot of scrolling or you need the extra buttons for video games, this is the mouse for you!

Great Mouse for Right Hands Only

I love Logitech gear and this mouse is no different. I had one of the smaller ones to pac with me when I travel, but I wanted something a bit more comfortable & bigger for when I stay home. This mouse is a great step up from one of those travel sized mice. The wheel and buttons are responsive and the ability to change scrolling style is a nice bonus. Plus the side buttons just naturally fit your hand. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is that it's a right handed mouse. I haven't been able to find a left handed version and I like to be able to switch up my mouse hand so I can write with my dominant hand (right) and scroll with my left. Also, sometimes I hit the side buttons by mistake and that can take me forward or back to my last page. After a while you get used to the side buttons, but the first few times it can catch you off guard. Overall I would recommend this to a friend, but not a left handed one.

Simple and precise. Easy to set up Looks like its made out of plastic however it doesnt feel cheap while using it.The clicks bottons are smooth while the middle one feels a bit hard but nothing to worry about It is very portable which makes it perfect to move it around/travel Now the cons: it is small. People with big hands will have some trouble to hold it properly. Haven't tested yet battery life but it is mono-battrery, which make me think that is not long-term-charge. Also I dont think that it is good to do heavy stuff like gaming or painting since it doesn't have extra bottons nor it will be precise enough. Overall, I would recommend this mouse for casual stuff like media consumption: regular web surfing and interaction with laptop. It is super portable which makes it good for students and people who travels a lot. I would not recomend this mouse to heavy gamer and media makers.

I've been using the M705 on my desktop for well over a year and have had no problems. When I needed a mouse for a new laptop, I decided to go with what I know. The extra button on the bottom (thumb activated) is a really handy way to open the task switcher (you can program it to something else if you like) and don't mind that it isn't the easiest thing to do. In fact, I like that about it as it prevents me from constantly opening the task switcher by accident. The fast scroll is as great as it sounds for long web pages/documents and the "clicker" mechanism is as strong as day one with no signs of degradation. My only complaint is that is doesn't have blue tooth (but I knew this going in), if it were to be offered with that option, I would "upgrade" in a heartbeat! All in all, one of the most comfortable, well appointed mouse I've ever used.

    Scroll Wheel Could Be Better

I'm a big fan of Logitech products and usually have high praise for them. I thought the Logitech M705 Marathon Mouse was just okay. I love that there are a number of programmable buttons using the Logitech Options software, but what irks me the most is that Logitech seemed to get a little lax on the quality. The scroll wheel on my mouse has a little too much play that often times results in accidental clickings of the left and right buttons on the scroll wheel. This never happens on my Logitech MX Anywhere 2s mouse. That one is engineered with much tighter engineering tolerances. However, despite this minor niggle , the Marathon Mouse is still a good enough mouse that I would recommend.

I enjoy this mouse for the most part. It is very ergonomic, responsive and well built. I also like that it has a few customisable buttons. The one thing that I really don't enjoy however is the scroll wheel. You can customize whether you want it to be clicky (apparently useful for gaming) or loose so that you can scroll more quickly. I like the concept, but the finished product is pretty disappointing. When using the loose setting, pages will often scroll without you touching the wheel and if you scroll up and then stop the wheel, it will scroll in the other direction. It's basically unusable. The other option which makes the wheel clicky resolves this issue, but then it takes forever to scroll long pages. I find myself constantly switching between the two options because I always find myself wanting to scroll quickly, then getting annoyed at the sensitivity.

A great mouse but a little quirky

I replaced my wired mouse on my desktop and was a little nervous since I had a bad experience before with a wireless mouse. Nevertheless, I tried it and set up was very easy, even though I still haven't quite learned how to program commands on it. I noticed there was a slight rattling noise when I moved it a little vigorously and soon discovered that the plate covering the batteries was loosely fitted. I ended up stuffing a piece of foam inside to make it more compact and that did eliminate the rattling. The plastic covering the clicking areas can feel a little cheap. The scroll wheel can feel slightly quirky depending on which mode you have it in. Overall, I love the performance of this mouse! I just think it could have greatly benefited from a little more quality in materials and assembly.

There are several reasons I'd choose this mouse over others - First the battery life is amazing. It's supposed to last 2+ years or something. Secondly, I've owned one of these mice for over two years now, and it doesn't suffer from the dreaded 'Logitech sticky click of death' that plagues so manny Logitech mice (at least mine doesn't). And third - I purchased a second one of these recently for my Mac- and I love (but also hate) the unified receiver. It's great I can use the same USB receiver on a Logitech keyboard and mouse... (Ps The reason I "hate" the Logitech receiver too, is because it's basically a slimmed down version of Bluetooth... I'd rather just have Bluetooth, instead of carrying around an extra receiver... but ah well...). It's a great mouse for most people.

This is by no means a top of the line product for Logitech. I use this mouse with my laptop when I am mobile and I need more than just a touchpad. This is not a gaming mouse as it is only 1000dpi. However, the laser is fairly accurate and works on most surfaces (not glass) without a mousepad. The scroll wheel I really like as you can set it to click or what Logitech calls Hyperscroll that basically lets the wheel spin free. Switch scroll wheel settings is as simple as pressing a button. I don't think I would pay full price ($50) for this mouse but if you can catch it on sale its worth the money for $30 or less. The battery door feels cheap but I really haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend this mouse.

When I needed a mouse to replace an older one that was falling apart, Logitech was the first name that came to my mind. After years of using corded mice, I decided to take a chance on this one, a wireless model. It works well, but the key to its use is the control software, which you have to download from Logitech's site. Assigning functions to the buttons in MacOS is easy, but control often varies from what you set, sometimes dramatically, whether it's the cursor speed or the scrolling rate of the center wheel. You have to play around a bit with the software to get the settings just right. Overall, it's a good piece of hardware, and suitable for any system, but keep an eye on your settings.

Got this mouse for use at work after my old wireless one started freaking out. This was pretty easy to setup and get going. It's really comfortable and I have wrist issues so that matters. Battery life has been fantastic on month 12 of daily use and haven't replaced it yet. I really like having the forward/back button and the additional "squeeze" button on the thumb. Only reason I am docking a star is because when you switch from between having the incremental/click on the scroll wheel versus to smooth scroll it get's too easy. I like to have free scroll on most mouses but this one is too fluid and makes it hard to avoid over scrolling.

This mouse is best suited for use at a desk than on the go with my laptop. I tried it with the laptop but the laser tracking doesn't work on all the surfaces I needed such as my cloth couch or bedsheet. Microsoft's Blutracking technology is still the best for tracking on any surface including cloth. Works great on my desktop and the ability to roll the wheel and scroll down pages at whatever speed I want without the limitations of a typical mouse. The nanoreceiver is great since it is almost flush with the USB port. Programmable buttons including two side buttons are a plus for those who prefer mouse buttons versus scrolling on the screen for actions.

Bought this due to adding another PC to my computer lab. I don't really understand the reason for the dual scroll wheel option but I'd safely assume there's a need for it somewhere. It's a comfortable fit to the hand and I like having the forward/backward easy access buttons at my thumb. I'm not sure it's that I work to much or the possibility the battery life really doesn't seem to last as long as my other Logitech mouse that runs on AAA batteries. Not really a big deal as long as I have 4 rechargeable AA batteries, 2 charging while using the other 2. I do the same with my AAA batteries, just not near as often.

I did some research before deciding on the M705. This Logitech model came up on my search as the number one wireless mouse of 2016. I haven't tried other models, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it has been great so far. I've been using it for two months, mainly for school, and trust me, you will be far better off with a mouse while in an MBA program. The M705 is a bit pricey, but I see it as paying for comfort--it's not too small, but not too big either, like a giant ergonomic mouse. The sensitivity settings are sufficient, though the scrolling sometimes gets out of control (or it could just be user error). Overall, I would recommend the M705.

The battery life on the Marathon M705 mouse is outstanding. After 6 months of daily use my duracell batteries are still at 90% of original power. If you hate changing batteries this is the mouse for you. It fits comfortably in my big hands and works well most of the time but....Occasionally it will get "laggy" or feel like the pointer is trying to keep up with the input from the mouse. This could be some interference but other Logitechs Iv'e had never had this problem. This is only once in a while and not nearly often enough to even be an inconvenience. Overall it's a very good mouse at it's price point.

This mouse is a cheap wireless mouse that just works. Tracking works pretty well for it's price and I haven't noticed any lagging due to it being wireless. The only thing I can imagine becoming a problem is the battery door on the bottom of the mouse. The battery door is half of the bottom of the mouse itself and is a simple "slide on and click" design and when it's on, it is very easy for it to come off....almost too easy. Meaning eventually I'm worried it may just slide off from normal use. They could have designed a better battery solution. But until then, this feels pretty solid.

I got this mouse specifically for work. It's a bit larger than a typical mouse, so for my hands, it's a bit more comfortable. Typical great Logitech quality, it feels solid and works very well. The only strange design decision was to put the somewhat tall toggle button for freewheeling/clicking when scrolling in line with the scroll wheel: it can feel like it's getting in the way. And, because it's a mechanical switch, it always gets reset when you store it for travel. I expect this mouse to work flawlessly for several years, as my other Logitech mice have. It's nice to be able to count on a brand to always meet expectations.
