Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the comfortable keys, adjustable backlighting, and excellent battery life of the MX Keys keyboard. Many appreciate the ease of use and compatibility across multiple devices. While some find the keyboard heavier than expected, and occasional connectivity issues have been reported, the positive feedback on key feel and overall quality outweighs these concerns. The price point is noted by some as a potential drawback.

THE BREAKDOWN: The packaging was very well done and protected. It came with the keyboard, USB-C to USB-C charging cable, the USB dongle/receiver and some instructions. The design of the keyboard is sleek in true fashion of Apple with the space grey finish and minimalist design. I love the fact that this keyboard is sleek and minimalist but heavy. It gives you that solid feel like it was made to last a lifetime. Connection was fast and easy via Bluetooth or the USB dongle/receiver. You can also switch between 3 apple devices and continue typing with the click of button on the keyboard (“The Easy Switch”). I was skeptical about this feature, but it did indeed work as intended. The keys themselves felt amazing, they have little spherical dish shapes on them that seem to capture your fingers to the center of the key. I found this to be very comfortable and precise. You can also customize the Fn keys once you download the logictech software. Keyboard illumination was very cool. I personally love backlit keyboards. These are no ordinary lights on a keyboard, they actually sense your hands as they move toward the keyboard and light up. It is pretty neat stuff. They also automatically adjust brightness based on the changing light conditions. If you are not a person that enjoys the backlit keyboard you can simply turn the feature off by using the option button and the F5 key until there is no lights. An additional note is that once the battery gets to 10% you get a notification and they turn off. The USB-C charging cable works as intended and it is to be noted that it doesn’t include a charging head. For some that is a turn-off but for me it isn’t because my MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports, so it is easy enough to plug and charge. PRO’s: -MAC layout -Spherical dish shaped keys -Sleek and elegent -Backlit Smart Illumination -Multiple MAC’s at the click of button -Customizable Fn buttons CON’s: - Absolutely none from me SUMMARY: Overall, I feel that this product worked very well and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

I have purchased the Logitech MX Mac a few times over, at a previous job for myself and co-workers and gifted it to deal friends. Everyone loves it. The key feel and travel are good, the key spacing is just right and the construction is excellent. Battery life is quite good, lasting over a week between charges. It takes up no more space than necessary to get the job done right. The backlit keyboards, with a motion sensor are great as well. Highly recommend it.

i have been using apple KB which came with my iMac since 2018. I was looking for a backlit KB but not that many good options out there for apple users, i used a logitech gaming KB for a while but I did not like the loud sound, it was RGB backlit though. MS keys is great, backlit, keys are quite, have good travel, it checks all boxes, price is good as compared to Apple KB. i have it for a week now, best feature is proximity sensor to activate backlight, it works flawlessly. let see how long battery will last between charges, even though it is plastic but is very well built. i had some issue connecting it via Bluetooth to mac then i connected it using the usb receiver came with it, not an issue. i should have read instructions may be i was not following something. best option for mac users, i picked the MX master 3 mouse with it, i was using MX 3 for my work for a month , MX3 mouse and MX keys is great combo to have at home. price is high for MX3 as it just came out, i have use MX master for five years at my work so it lasts and still works fine, the wheel on MX master is the reason to upgrade, it is so good.

    Very good dedicated Mac Keyboard

The MX (Master) series from Logitech includes premium keyboards and mouse oriented for work applications. It works best when used with a mouse from the MX series to take full advantage of the Flow software when used with two or three computers at the same time. While all the keyboards in the series works with Mac, this is the first that's specifically targeted for macs. The main differences are the mac-only keyboard layout and 'Space Gray' finish. Otherwise it's functionally identical to the regular MX Series keyboard. Opening the packaging for the first time feels different: There is no plastic in the packaging, and the keyboard is wrapped in gift tissue paper. Very nice that they're mindful of not adding unnecessary plastic. There's also an USB-C to USB-C cable and an USB adapter, that for some reason it's USB-A. The keyboard layout is arranged similarly to Apple full-size keyboards. The keyboard is all plastic, the 'Space Gray' finish is actually painted plastic. It does look great and had to double-take. It looks like aluminum but it's not. The layout uses 'island' keys that feel similar to a laptop keyboard: The keys are slightly separated, with a limited travel compared to mechanical keys, but much better than Apple's laptop keyboards. The keys are also concave, which I really like. It's not indented like older keyboards. It has a circular 'bowl' on the center of the keys that helps with touch typing. Backlight: Every key, including function keys are backlit. The backlight has 7 levels that are controlled via Fn keys. The keyboard includes a 'proximity sensor' so the light turns on when hands approach the keyboard (before touching it), and turn off soon after. It should also adjust intensity based on ambient light although I did not notice the difference. Logitech sells an optional wrist pad designed specifically for this keyboard. I have no idea why they sell it separately, not part of the keyboard. The keyboard charges a built-in battery via the USB-C port. Based on previous experience with other Logitech keyboards, it should last months without the backlight, but with the backlight I noticed the battery lost about 30% in a week. Connectivity: It can either use the Logitech unifying USB receiver, or it supports Bluetooth 5.0 LE. The Unifying receiver can connect to up to 6 devices simultaneously, like other Logitech keyboards and mouse. The connection via the USB receiver is extremely reliable, and one receiver works with both keyboard and mouse. I've used these for years on previous keyboards. The keyboard has three buttons to switch devices it connects to, or if using a compatible Logitech mouse, enable Flow to seamlessly switch between devices. This keyboard supports flow when used with the Logitech MX Vertical mouse, and it works between macOS and Windows 10. It requires Wi-Fi connection between the two or three computers for Flow to work. If using Linux, Android or iOS, it has to be switched via dedicated keys (On top of the control keys). The software is 'Logitech Flow' and it's available through Logitech (for free, with no registration). It also checks firmware on the keyboard, and other fine-tuning settings. It's not available through Apple's App Store. The software also bundles the 'Logitech Unifying' software that can be used to pair and unpair any compatible mouse or keyboard to any Unifying Receiver. When connected via the receiver, the computer detects the keyboard (and mouse) as USB devices. Things that I did not like upon using this otherwise excellent keyboard: - There are no height adjustment tabs on the base of the keyboard. - The keyboard is all plastic. It looks like Apple's Aluminum keyboards though. - The USB-C port of the back of the keyboard is used only for charging. Unlike the MX mouse on the same series, the USB-C port cannot be used as an USB keyboard (Although the wireless receiver does that). - This might be an Apple problem, but if the boot drive on the mac is encrypted (As it should be), this keyboard does not work until the initial password is set, when connected via Bluetooth. This is because macOS File Vault does not enable the Bluetooth driver until after macOS boots. To compound the problem, the USB-C connector on the keyboard does not work except for charging it so File Vault won't work with it via USB. Connecting via the unifying receiver works, but the receiver is USB-A, and it needs to be connected either through a dock or an adapter (dongle). So much for 'Designed for Mac'. - Keycaps are not removable, so it makes it hard to clean. To be fair, modern Apple keyboards are also impossible to fix, but having used mechanical keyboards in the past in which keycaps are made to be easily removed, this is a slight drawback to me. Also note that if one of the computers is connected via VPN, the 'Logitech Flow' software might not work (depending on the VPN settings), because it needs network connectivity between both computers. Overall, it's an excellent keyboard that I thoroughly enjoy. Currently using it with both my personal and work MacBook at home, except for the slight annoyance when the computer boots, which I'll solve by having both computers use Unifying receivers.

I very much like this keyboard. I bought it to replace a cheap bluetooth keyboard I got from amazon, as the keys on that keyboard kept sticking. This is a hefty keyboard - yes in price, but it is solidly built. Heavy and not flimsy at all. Great material. Great feel to the typing as well, this is a keyboard that will last a while. I've had it a couple weeks and haven't charged it once. It paired really easily to my macbook pro, and I paired it also to my ipad as my #2 device. Seamless switching, it remembers and I don't have to keep re-pairing. It doesn't forget which device is which. To me, backlighting isn't that important but now that I have it, it's cool. Great keyboard, think I'll get another one for my office imacs.

I've had my MX Keys for a few days now and I am enthralled with how well it paired with my Mini. The small bowls in each key were an excellent design touch, as well as the sensors for the keys to light up as your hand approaches, and of course the Bluetooth capability without the dongle. When I saw Logitech created this keyboard I wanted it because of the smart design features but also because of the dark slate color. It is a nice pop of color on my enamel desk and it just creates a clean like on my furniture. For charging the keyboard it comes with a USC-C wire so you don't need batteries like other keyboards which I loved. It was about time I invested in one that didn't require them. Overall this keyboard is quiet and not clunky like other keyboards, it's beautiful to look at, it does more than just type (it knows when your hand is approaching which is so clever), and it is very responsive. I haven't figured it out yet but there is something clunky when I first turn it on that makes it miss the first few key strokes for my password. It's happened three times and that was weird. Otherwise this is a great keyboard and will look great in any household because it amps up it's surroundings. I'm a big fan of pieces of technology that double as art!

Better than the Apple Magic Keyboard by a mile

I already owned an Apple Magic Keyboard with a number pad, but wanted to try this one for its multi-device support. Turns out the entire thing is a league above Apple's offering: backlit keys with better travel and a dimpled shape on each key for better touch typing. Multi-device support ended up being the icing instead of the cake for me. The only thing the Apple keyboard has over this one is weight:The MX Keys is considerably heavier than most non-mechanical keyboards. But if portability is a factor for you, you likely wouldn't want one with a number pad anyway. Other than that, MX Keys is the undisputed winner.

Great Keyboard, Good Feel for Touch-Typing

I bought this, primarily, to use with my iPhone to make my work more efficient than speech-to-text (with its frequent errors), and the iOS keyboard options. I touch-type over 80 words per minute. I can do much more with a full-sized keyboard, especially with a proper number pad at the right. So far, I have loved it! Good feel on the keys. Took a brief bit of research to learn Apple key combinations and shortcuts as a PC user. But, instructions were easily found online. Backlighting is quite handy for work at night. I have seen concerns about the weight of this keyboard in other reviews. I most often use the keyboard on my knee. It could easily fall off if it was lighter. I am glad to have a bit of extra heft and security. If it is on a desk, weight won’t be much of a factor. This has been a great keyboard for my work. The price is merited. Compatibility with Mac, PC, and iPhone, along with a good feel for touch-typing were selling points. Back lighting has been useful, too.

When you type as much as I do you want a good keyboard. It needs to be reliable. It needs to have a good feel to it so that your keyboarding is smooth. It needs to have a great action to it. It needs to not be so loud that it drives you nuts. I have had some decent keyboards to type on. I must have easily used over 30 keyboards over the last 20 years, including great ones built in to laptops. Without even going into all the extra functions that I like that this keyboard has I can tell you that even compared to ergonomic keyboards I have used this is hands-down the best keyboard I have ever used. Does it cost quite a bit? Yes but with all the features it is worth it. Heck even if it wasn't programmable, capable of computer file sharing, multiple device pairing, etc... I would have paid the $100 just for the smooth action and durability of this keyboard. I have had my wireless iMac computer keyboard (which I really enjoy typing on) for 10 years now and it is going strong. BUT this new keyboard is way above it and 10 times more durable. I expect to get many years out of this keyboard. In the long run I bet paid only $10 a year for the number of years I'll get out of this keyboard. After about 3 weeks this is now virtually the only keyboard I want to type on. I can't recommend this keyboard enough. One warning though. Test the one you buy for battery life immediately so you have a chance to return or exchange it for another one.. Charge it all the way up before using it. Make a note on your calendar the day you start using it. Then make sure you turn backlighting on for the keyboard and use it until it dies and note how many days it lasted. If it lasted between 8-11 days then you got one with proper battery life. If it dies before that, then exchange it and get a new one. The first one I got died at 3 days with backlighting on. I tried it again with backlighting off and it lasted 10 days. It should have lasted about 10 days with lighting on and 5 MONTHS with backlighting off. The battery had an issue. I exchanged it and the new one seems to be doing fine comparatively. Also, always turn your keyboard off when not in use to maintain the battery life and I recommend not charging it until it completely dies each time. Trust me, you will get a ton more life out of your keyboard if you do that.

I have tried numerous and various types of keyboards from other stores, brands and on amazon. But this one, this is THE ONE for me. Times have truly changed with COVID 19 affecting remote learning and working from home. Since I'm a recent college graduate, I needed to upgrade my computer system to study for my boards because my MacBook Pro was starting to lag and bought a 27 inch iMac back in march early this year. But the basic keyboard that it came with was not enough to meet my typing standards. Solely because I do not know why apple still has not developed a backlit keyboard. That was my biggest frustration when I purchased such an expensive computer. At first, I couldn't figure out why the launch pad button couldn't work but then I found out you have to go to system preferences, then click on keyboard, and go to shortcuts tab, then click on launchpad. Click on the box where it says "Show launchpad" and then a blank typing space will appear, you must press the launch pad button on the keyboard so it registers what button on the keyboard will display when pressed and then you're done! press the launchpad button that you just registered and it should work. Overall, this keyboard works exactly like the magic keyboard. I personally like to connect it with the USB receiver only because with the apple magic keyboard bluetooth was always disrupted with other devices also connected to bluetooth. But it does work great without the USB connector. I think that's the coolest feature where you can connect up to 3 devices and on the keyboard it has a button for each device. For example: Button 1 is for my iMac , button 2 is for my iPad, and button 3 is for my iPhone. And awesome backlit feature with more smooth typing, the arch is just at the right level (unlike the apple magic keyboard is just flat), and battery life does last longer when not using the back light on the keys as much. You do really get your money's worth for this keyboard, rather than paying for overly priced keyboards.

I have been studying design for the last 6 months, my setup is a MacBook Air (2020) M1 so I do not have a lot of ports to play with, haven't found a great adapter that doesn't seem to overheat, so wireless was a must. I also use this for work on my PC. The keyboard has 3 signals that allow you to alternate between 3 workstations, this was an unexpected feature that made this device better. I love apple's keyboard sensation and hate the mechanical feel, it distracts me if I am typing quickly. This keyboard is as smooth as my Macs and it just does what it's supposed to. I have charged it twice since purchase and have yet to be notified that it's low on power, so not bad considering a month of daily use. The bluetooth works as long as I can see the screen, so if I mirror on to my living room tv, I can sit 20-30' away and still work, don't know why you would need more. I have not had any connection issues and everything is seamless. Install was a breeze. I used the dongle for the pc and bluetooth for the Mac. I have paired my use with the MX Master 3 mouse and it's all housed under the same application so I can program my quick keys. If you just need a keyboard for whatever casual use, may be too much for you. If you want a good keyboard you don't have to worry about working, this is it. I wouldn't say I am a keyboard expert, just 25 years of typing on them, I know what I like, this keyboard met all of those needs. If there is any function I wish they added that is not present would be the fingerprint scanner, I would not pay an additional $50 for the magic keyboard that this is modeled off of so it's not really missed. I do like having both Mac/PC labels printed on the keys, this thing is great. I hope this helps.

I really love the MX Keys keyboard. It has Mac-specific Option and Command keys, and it's incredibly comfortable for someone like me who spends the majority of my day typing. It's at exactly the right angle for comfortable typing, and the key travel and feel of the keys is just right. The automatic backlight works really well, and I have been pleasantly surprised that I've only had to recharge it once since I got it about 2 weeks ago. I have had a little trouble with some latency issues, whether I use the dongle or Bluetooth for connection, but I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software about a week ago, and that seems to have permanently fixed it. Then again, I've only been using a Mac for about 6 months, so it could have been something I was doing wrong. In any case, it works great now, both with the dongle and with Bluetooth. All in all, I would definitely purchase it again if I had it to do over.

This keyboard has blown my expectations away, there is good key travel, and satisfying clicks when typing that you’d also get from the more expensive Magic Keyboard. The backlight is nice and bright, battery life is solid, and multi device pairing is a time savor. The build quality is excellent, and feels as well constructed as my MacBook Pro. No driver issues when pairing it with Bootcamp either. Overall great product.

Money well spent. Perfect for my Mac M2 Mini. Rarely need to charge it. Solid construction. Nice key-feel. USB-C charge port in easy location to use while charging if needed. Feet were actually too grippy for my desk but I just added some Velcro (loop-side) pieces so it slides around the way I want it to. Worth the price they ask. The less expensive all-black version doesn't have the nice contrast of the "space-gray" with black keys... but you can scratch the gray off if you're generally hard on stuff or have kids/pets/tools/knives/scissors/rasps/files nearby. Mine still looks great after months of use though. No connectivity issues with M2 Mini btw.

I like Logitech products. This is low profile sturdy keyboard, as you can expect from Logitech. The pros: 1. Built quality is superb, 2. Match with my macbook color and finish. 3. Connection is smooth, easily switch between three computers. I purchased this for my work because sometimes I take my laptop also it I can simultaneously work on the two computers. Logitech flow and options softwares are great tools to exploit the potential of this keyboard. 4. Battery backup is great last approximately more than 2 months in regular use. I wish Logitech should have made a mechanical MX keys. It would have been good if this has an option to be wired connection as well for the old desktops that do not have bluetooth ot limited USB ports.

WOW. I am blown away by this keyboard. I love it so much and it makes the biggest difference productivity wise. It makes me want to type even when I have nothing to type. I love the tactile feel of it, the full set of keys, the heaviness of the base, and the overall classy look of this. I really only have positives to say about this: -Tactile, yet quiet. It's quite a pleasure to type with. -Looks clean. Has backlighting, so can be used in the dark. -Full set of keys. Works great with a Mac especially. -Battery lasts a considerable time, so I do not need to charge it as often. -Heavy, which adds to the quality of it all. -Pairs well with the Master 3 mouse. -Easily detects bluetooth. Pairing with the palm wrest and Master 3, this keyboard is even better. Overall, highly recommended. This is by far my favorite new toy :) I am in love with it and I dread my office work day just a little less because of it! Get it. I know it's $99 for a keyboard, but it's worth a spend. I recommend this over the Apple keyboard.

For years, now I've been religiously using Apple magic keyboards and trackpads on the assumption that they 'work better'. You pay more for the brand but you're safe with the compatibility. One thing that always bugged me about the magic keyboards was the lack of backlight - so I thought as I was setting up a new office I would give the MX for mac a try. Wow. Is the short version. They key travel is beautilful and soft - the slight sculpting of the key tops also makes it very pleasurable to use for long periods of time. Its bene so long since I had a 'full' size keyboard with number pad etc, that I forgot how use ful that was too. Its where the intelligent backlight shines though (no pun intended) which makes we wonder if I'd ever buy a native Apple keyboard again - it goes off when not in use, and gently comes on as your hands approach the keyboard. Couple that with the mac-specific key layout, I really couldnt as for anything more. Battery life is still under review, but I took it out of the box 2 weeks ago - connected it via bluetooth and never charged it once, and it still going strong. In short - need an external keyboard for your Mac? Get the MX Keys for Mac.

I had a mechanical Daz keyboard but it was wired, chunky, and made too much noise, I also hate flat mac keyboards, they don't feel good typing and not ergonomic. This one is the best of both worlds. It's flat(ish), wireless, and minimalist but feels really good to push the keys and type. I 100% recommend this to anyone who types a lot. Maybe not the best keyboard for gamers but If you type a lot, you will love this keyboard. a couple of minor cons: It runs out of battery every two weeks, my previous wireless keyboard could go longer without charging. For some reason, even when I have my laptop closed, the keyboard lights up randomly and starts searching for a connection. and it's obvious when the lights are off at night. I'm sure there is something in settings to turn that feature off but this is how it came out of the box. For now, I just turn the keyboard off because I'm too sensitive to the light and too lazy to read the manual.

Three months ago, I bought a Logitech K380 to use with my MacBook Pro in a desktop setup, and I was happy with it. But my wife found that little keyboard too cute and took that for herself! So I was looking for another one and thought of going for a full keyboard. I had almost decided on the Apple Magic Keyboard when I came across the MX for Mac. And I'm glad I did. It's cheaper than the Apple one but can work with 3 devices, and has backlit keys. The battery seems fine too - I have been using it for over 3 weeks now, and I haven't had to charge it yet with daily moderate use. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to customize the backlight settings. It turns off about 5 sec after you take your hands away from the keyboard, and turns back on as soon as your hands are about to touch the keyboard. I think that works best to save the battery, but I wish there was an option to customize that setting. Not a deal-breaker though. Overall it's a great accessory to the space gray Macbook Pro.
