I was looking for a desk keyboard that I could use with my MacBook Pro. It connects via Bluetooth. It’s weighted so doesn’t slide around the desk, easy to type with - great keys and silent typing. I appreciate having dedicated keys for page down/up, home, end and the numbers. The keyboard action is fine, taking a little adjusting to. Minor annoyance is related to using Windows. The ESC is so large and I"m always pressing F1 accidentally when in Excel, when I'm actually reaching for F2. I'll have to see if I can use Windows to remap keys on this specific keyboard. The LogiOptions app only allows predefined keys to be updated and that seems limited as well, ie no swapping 2 keys.

Nothing Truly New Except A Software Update

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the original 1st Generation MX Keys and it is a fantastic keyboard, way better than Apple's Magic Keyboard and just as good looking too. But the original MX Keys has an annoying and highly distracting 5-second backlight timeout that can't be adjusted. People have been asking Logitech to allow adjustments to the timeout duration for years, and instead of fixing it via a software update, they release this new keyboard with that feature enabled in the Logi Options + app. I was disappointed to find out that this new MX Keys S is really nothing new. There's no physical improvements over the Original MX Keys. It's still the same great keyboard, they just swapped out a few keyboard shortcut icons on the F keys and THEY FINALLY ADDED AN ADJUSTABLE BACKLIGHT TIMEOUT DURATION!! It's now adjustable from 5 seconds to 30 minutes via the app. Oh yeah, and they no longer include a USB receiver so connectivity is via bluetooth only, no more plug and play. Logitech could have and should have provided this feature long ago via a software update because it was widely considered a defect, but instead they make you buy a new keyboard if you want it fixed. To make people buy a new keyboard to fix the only flaw the 1st Generation MX Keys had (and people were asking for it to be fixed) feels disingenuous. It does not engender brand loyalty. Logitech provides good products with distasteful experiences. Logitech will no longer be my first choice when I need a new computer accessory.

I'm still using my original MX Keys, and this feels just as smooth to type on as that one. They have two different receivers, so I'm glad to have this one to pair with my MX Master 3S that uses the same receiver because I have a PC that doesn't have bluetooth, and I had to use both receivers on it previously. Not a big upgrade from the previous one I can tell, but the previous one is fantastic, so this one is as well.
