Wireless Keyboard - Perfect Compliment for the Mac

This Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini for the Mac wireless keyboard is an excellent addition to the Mac computer. The keyboard is well designed. The keys have good firm compression per key stroke, and the keyboard is amazingly responsive.
All of the functions on the keyboard work natively with Mac OS so it's literally like an extension of using the standard built-in keyboard (if you have a laptop) or a more mechanical version of the standard wireless keyboard from Apple. The keyboard has a really good battery life. I have been using it for days (as I use it for work and personal use) and it remains as sharply responsive as it was when I initially started using it.
I love the design of the keyboard. It has a very nice quality feel to it. Ergonomically it's comfortable to use for long periods of time. Also, I like how the keys are appropriately spaced and arrangement of the color shades on the keys. Really adds a nice touch.
The keyboard is easy to use. Only takes a few minutes to connect to your computer. It has a pretty good wireless range which allows you to move back from your computer and continue typing. I find this really helpful when typing on a larger monitor where I may want to have ample distance between myself and the screen.
The Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini for the Mac is an excellent option for a wireless keyboard that supports the native Mac OS functions. You will not be disappointed. I would definitely recommend this keyboard to a friend.

Connected seamlessly with my iPad Pro & iPhone

Connected seamlessly with my iPad Pro via Bluetooth. Out of the box, the keyboard has enough charge to turn it on and quickly was recognized by the iPad. I also was able to connect it with my iPhone 12 and toggle between devices using the function keys. I like that the keyboard has some weight on it and it is very reactive when I type. The backlit keys lights up when there is not enough light in the room and automatically turns off when it is bright in the surroundings.
I know this is designed for Mac and iPad, however, I was also able to connect it with my Windows laptop with no issues. I use this keyboard for work and although I miss the separated numbers section, the feel of typing on this keyboard makes the experience of typing lots of emails so much more fun. The mini size makes this keyboard portable and it fits in my laptop bag. This will not fit on a regular laptop sleeve though, although it is a mini, the design is not that flat so I place this on a separate compartment inside my purse.
I am surprised that the battery last longer. I forgot to bring the charging cable when I was away for a 3 day conference and the battery was still at 50% when I got home.
Overall, I am satisfied with this keyboard and will recommend to those using Macs and other iOS devices for its design and overall feel.

Its a very subdued and quiet keyboard overall. The keys feel soft to the touch and the sensitivity produces very predictable results while typing. I'm not a speed typist by any means but I'm pretty fast with this keyboard. The way your words glide from typing word to word is pretty great and something you would want to try yourself for sure. There is a feature that automatically turns on the backlit keys when your in a dark room which is very efficient and saves the battery. This is an Apple licensed keyboard so all your Apples shortcuts are there - complete with Opt and Cmd keys. You have the ability to pair this keyboard with up to 3 different devices and switch them using the F1,F2, and F3 keys. Even though this is an Apple keyboard, it will work fine with Windows PCs as well. The Cmd just turns into the Win logo key so you can pair this with multiple OS environments. The build quality is premium and having such an efficient battery powered bluetooth keyboard is really nice. No annoying wireless USB dongles to carry - just Bluetooth. I highly recommend this keyboard be one of your first choices for your tech bag.

I have a mid-2012 13 inch Macbook Pro on which I wanted to add a remote keyboard and have had great luck with Logi products in the past. This computer was running Catalina.
Installation is fairly straight forward. I went to system preferences, then went to bluetooth and turned on the keyboard and the system detected the keyboard after a short time. Then I hit connect and followed the steps that the Mac said to do and waited for the computer to recognize and followed the onscreen confirmation process screens detecting the keys left and right to configure and this installed just fine.
The keyboard feels premium and I love that it feels like it has some weight to it. Too many times have I bought a flimsy and cheap feeling item for a computer. Once the computer detected the keyboard the one short-coming I noticed about how hard the keys were to read without lighting was resolved as the keyboard immediately backlit and the experience was what you'd expect from Logi. Works great!
You can connect this keyboard to up to three other devices which is nice for future upgrades if you want a remote keyboard for something else.
I love the mechanical feel of the keyboard as I am not fond of many modern laptop keyboards (this vintage mac has a wonderful one before Apple screwed it up). I touch type and this is just great to use to type.
Supplied in the box is a usb c cable for charging/connecting.

My favorite mechanical keyboard dedicated to Mac

First thing I noticed upon removing this from the box was that it feels really sold and sturdy. Second thing I noticed was that despite it being a mechanical keyboard, it's pretty quiet. These aren't clicky keys but you can clearly see the mechanical switches below the keys.
Setup was quick and easy with the Options+ app. I knew from having the older Options app that you have to restart after installing and granting permissions before it'll see the keyboard. The customization options are awesome. You can reassign around a dozen of the keys to do basically anything you want including keyboard shortcuts, launching apps, Mission control, etc. I use home and end as mission control and launchpad.
If you're completely used to Apple's keyboard layout, you'll have to re-learn some of the function keys because they don't match up to Apple's. And there are keys to the right of the delete and return keys, which I got used to after about three days.
I particularly like the screen grab key. It works like Windows' snipping tool. Also, there are three dedicated buttons to switch between different Apple devices, so I can use this with my iPad and iPhone as well as my Mac with a quick keystroke. Backlight is ambient light sensitive so it's not wasting battery. An excellent keyboard all around with a great software suite granting tons of options. Highly recommended.

Small form factor - big on features

I’ve been looking for a Mac layout Bluetooth keyboard for some time now that was perfectly sized, didn’t require a separate Bluetooth adapter, and from a trusted brand.
Thankfully the opportunity to pick up this new model from Logitech presented itself because it checks all of these boxes and then some.
Right out of the box it’s extremely simple to set up. Turn on the power switch, scan Bluetooth devices, and you’re connected. Helpful hint - if the F1 key isn’t blinking fast when you turn on the switch, hold it for 3 seconds to put in pairing mode for your first device. Not only can you pair to your primary device, you can also pair your iPhone and/or iPad, allowing up to 3 sync’d devices. This feature is something i find super useful as I can type a reply to a message on my phone with a quick key press, only needing to hit the send button on the phone or iPad once complete.
Not only is this keyboard full featured in a compact size, typing on it is GREAT. The key throw is just right, and you get the great resistance that mechanical keyboards are sought for.
All in all I’d say this is a must buy and I’m happy to have a keyboard that finally works with my Mac.

I know... why would you buy a keyboard for your laptop... right? Wrong! Sometimes using a separate keyboard is a must because it feels more comfortable and natural. This is especially true for someone who uses a desktop at work all day and is so used to having a detached keyboard. I find that my hands aren't as tires when I am using a keyboard. Which is why I decided to try the Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini.
Another reason why I went with the Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini is because my job has switched over to laptops and monitors in our office, so I had to get a separate keyboard that worked with my Mac. The Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini was perfect!
Not only is it lightweight and easy to carry around in my backpack, but it's small yet comfortable enough to where my hands don't feel cramped. Connectivity is a breeze and I have not had any issues with that. Hopefully it remains this well, but being a Logitech product, I don't think it will be an issue.
I have been using Logitech products for a long time (keyboards, mouse, etc.) and love their reliability.
I would highly recommend the Logitech - MX Mechanical Mini.

Solidly built compact keyboard

Depending on what you want out of a keyboard this could be perfect for you. I wanted a nice little keyboard that was easy to store on a small shelf when not in use as my mac is more of a server than a daily use computer. It can switch between three different devices real easy so connecting it to your mac and ipad is easy. I had no issue connecting it to the ipad but I did have some issues connect to the Mac, to be fair my Mac is 12 years old and while the OS was capable I think the Bluetooth built in was too old. I used a Bluetooth dongle to fix this issue, just keep that in mind if your having issue with a really old mac. A side benefit of the troubleshooting involved led me to realize the keyboard does work with windows, it is definitely built for Mac and windows doesn’t know what to do with some of the buttons but for basic typing and using the computer it works, which is awesome as now I have it connected to my little windows server as well.
This is a solidly built keyboard and feels that way, it sits solidly on the desk and doesn’t move. The typing experience is condensed but feels nice with the mechanical keyboard. It isn’t the nice experience of a ergo keyboard but compact is the main advantage of this guy.
Pros:
- Solidly built
- Back light
- USB C rechargeable
- The depth of keys is very nice
- Quite for a mechanical keyboard.
Cons:
- Can’t use usb C as back wired connection to the mac
- Tight keys
Overall I would recommend this keyboard if you are looking for a compact high quality solution.

Clicky clacky with lots of customization options

I think the first thing you should know going into this is that if you're used to using TouchID on your Mac via Apple's own keyboard, you will need to adjust to not having that available. With that out of the way, I can go on to say that this is a pretty good keyboard as an alternative to Apple's own offerings, especially if you like the longer, deeper travel of the mechanical keys and the (more) audible feedback of each key press (hence the click clack in the title of this review).
Moreover, you get a lot more customization options in the trade-off with the loss of TouchID. You can see all of that in the overview and specs of the keyboard, so I won't go into the nitty gritty details. There are already many built-in Apple functions in the top row, but you can even change those using the Logi software to pretty much anything you can think of.
The other nice thing about the keyboard is the ability to use it with multiple devices, simply by pressing one of the top left buttons to switch between them. I've found this feature nice (I have the keyboard paired with my Mac mini as well as my Mac laptop), though a little bit buggy (ie, the switch doesn't always occur with the first press).

Unique main-stream mechanical with Logitech DNA

I've been using this keyboard (MacOS, Tactile version) for a few days now and love it. I have many, many mechanical keyboards and can say this Logitech is on-par with some of the higher end mechanical keyboards. One specific thing I like is the backlighting. That, plus 3-device bluetooth, makes this an awesome investment for anyone wanting a best-in-class tactile keyboard. I use this with my M1 MBP and iPad Pro and it has specific keys that correspond with Apple's standard keyboard commands. FYI, it also works fine with any other bluetooth device, including Windows and Android.
Positives:
* Crispy yet smooth actuation, nice satisfying mechanical "thack" when typing
* Feels like a Cherry Red or Black actuation (linear) vs. Brown; no discernible tactile "bump" that I can feel
* Keycap surface and overall finish of the device is top-notch
* Flexibility with multiple paired devices via quick-switch 1,2,3 buttons; no fuss, just press and it switches
* The layout is well thought out and includes 4-way arrows (relatively uncommon for this size)
* Ties in with Logitech "ecosystem" as expected; managed via Options, just like other Logi peripherals
* No repeating key presses, lag, or any other irritations that normally affect bluetooth keyboards
* Long (expected) battery life; haven't had long enough to drain, but have confidence it'll last weeks/months on a charge, depending on back light use
* MacOS specific keys work perfectly
Neutral:
* It is a little heavy for full-time portable use
* Takes a bit to become familiar with layout vs. "standard" keyboards
* Sits a bit high, may be uncomfortable for those who rest their wrists on the desk
* Possibly too clackity and disruptive for open office use
* Would be nice to have a "universal" key layout lettering schema for any OS (MacOS, iPadOS, Windows, Android) which would simplify the offering to a single SKU
* More of an amber color backlight so it's not so white/blue-tinted at night
Negatives:
* Doesn't work with "old" Logitech unifying dongles, requires buying the "bolt" dongle, separately
* To the above point, it would be nice if Logitech bundled the bolt adapter vs. requiring a separate purchase, especially at MSRP
* Unable to map custom keys/macros (that I'm aware of)
* While very affordable vs. competitor TKL keyboards (ten-keyless) it's still "expensive" to the $20 membrane keyboard crowd (but worth it)
* Single-OS key lettering; why not make it like the MX Keys, which has shared OS lettering/mode
* Unable to control Mac screen brightness (strange oversight)
Overall, if you want a solid quality mechanical keyboard, this is it. Sure you can spend way more on a more niche brand/design (or build your own) but that's not the target market for this product. I highly recommend it if you want to upgrade your typing experience (you should).

Good features, but not the most comfortable to use

Pros:
USB C Charging
Backlight
Easy to switch between 3 different devices
Do not disturb key, emoji key, screenshot key
Sturdy design
Cons:
Buttons are very tactile, require more force to press than should be necessary
Keyboard is raised up quite a bit and has no hand rest, so it is a bit awkward and uncomfortable to type on
Keys are not labeled for cross-platform use
Battery does not appear to be user-replaceable
A little wobbly on some surfaces
No obvious indication when caps lock is on or off
After using this keyboard, I am pretty disappointed with it. While there are things Logitech has done well with this keyboard, there are many that leave a lot of room for improvement. First, I am not a big fan of the execution with the tactile keys on this keyboard. I have used various different tactile keyboards in the past, but this one just doesn’t seem quite right to me. The keys feel a little too resistant to me and just seem to require more force to press than should be necessary. Additionally, this keyboard is not all that comfortable to type on given that it is raised up a decent amount and then has large tactile keys as well. There is no attached hand rest, so to me, it feels awkward and uncomfortable typing on this keyboard. My other Logitech keyboard has a built in hand-rest and is much more comfortable to type on.
I was also a bit surprised to discover that this keyboard only has Mac keys. I have seen many Logitech keyboards in the past that support both Mac and Windows, which I think is great as it offers a lot of flexibility for the devices you use your keyboard with. While this one might still work on a Windows machine, it is not intended for that and does not show any windows-specific keys. With this being a Mac only keyboard, there are a couple nice features from that. It does have some Mac-specific keys including an emoji key, screenshot key, and do not disturb button (for turning do not disturb on and off). Those are nice touches, but I think I would prefer a keyboard that supports different platforms, especially considering that this keyboard has 3 buttons for easy switching between 3 different devices.
There are a couple other things that I do not particularly like about this keyboard. The rechargeable battery does not appear to be user-replaceable. At least, not easily. So eventually if the battery loses significant capacity or dies, you will likely have to buy a new keyboard. Additionally, on some surfaces I tried using this keyboard on, it would wobble back and fourth a little and was not completely stable. I have not had that issue with my other Logitech keyboard, so it seems this design is not the most stable on some surfaces. I am also not a fan of the indicator for caps lock on this. Usually a keyboard will have a solid green light or something that very clearly indicates when caps lock is on. This one does not. Instead, the caps button is solid white when caps lock is off and flashes on and off slowly when it is turned on. This is less obvious for determining quickly if caps lock is on or off, which isn’t the best.
There are things that Logitech has done well with this keyboard. I really like that it has USB C for charging and the keys are backlit for typing even in dark environments. Additionally, as mentioned previously, this has 3 keys for easy switching between 3 different devices, as well as Mac-specific keys for accessing emojis, taking screenshots, and enabling and disabling do not disturb. This keyboard also feels very solid and well-built, which is great.
Overall, at least for me, the cons significantly outweigh any pros with this keyboard. My biggest complaint is the lack of any hand rest, the height of this keyboard, and the force required to press the keys. For me, this keyboard is not very comfortable to use which really is a deal-breaker for me. Maybe some of this is just a matter of preference, but I cannot recommend this keyboard, particularly given the lack of comfort provided when typing on this keyboard. To me, typing comfort is one of the most important features of any keyboard, and this one just isn’t comfortable to use.

Best Mac Keyboard! The pairing takes seconds they keys are comfortable and clicks but not obnoxious. My only issue and this is why it gets 4 stars is that it doesn’t have Touch ID. For that price it should. Certainly not a deal breaker though, so if you need a Mac Keyboard, this is the best there is.
