    Great for under a buck

"I purchased this product to get more boom out of my laptop (euphemism), & to use for gaming (360). I really like the fact that your able to easily attach the center speaker to a flat-panel. The rear wires are a bit short depending on how you tend to setup your room (you may need to get extensions). I use the virtual mode to connect my laptop & 360 (you will need a 3.5mm splitter if you wish to not have to manually change the wires every time you fire one or the other up). All-in-all what I use this product for it gets 5 stars for under a buck (100$) you'd be hard pressed finding anything better. In the under a buck range your looking at extremely cheap HTiB which don't even have any AUX inputs. Sure as heck won't be SP/DIF or even RCA. Long story short if your looking for a new sound system for <100$ this really is the ''only'' real option. I only need to bring the volume to around a 1/3 then I'm happy. YMMV. Don't let the wattage fool you, many people think more= better. It's not that simple. For someone starting out & wanting to enjoy 5.1 for under a buck you can't go wrong."

    Excellent fidelity... maybe too good

This system is definately a keeper. Logitech has been renouned for creating a quality product, from wireless keyboards to multimedia speakers, and here is another example of their unsurpassed quality. while not as pricy as the creature speakers or other designer speakers, this system actually works harder. While there are six of them, and that can be kind of difficult to place on a desktop or a living room, the speakers provide an excellent surround sensation, and incredibly high fidelity to whatever media is being played. however, there are drawbacks. the wiring on the speakers were, i thought, too short. it was difficult to spread the speakers out to a level that would allow for the best possible listening experiance. also, the fidelity was perhaps too clear, as minute imperfections in my media files suddenly became abundantly clear to me. maybe this could be ignored by adjusting the treble and bass, but whatever. i definately suggest this system to anyone who wishes to devote a significant portion to the sound of their box.

I bought these for my Xbox 360, plainly because no one likes the sound of TV built in speakers, :) Let me first say, they are a very good deal as far as price. Now, dont start thinking that they sound horrible because of the cons i wrote, they sound far better than the TV's speakers, but not great. As far as the muddy mids, the mids are average, muddy. The struggling trebles, because of the lack of tweeter speakers, the trebles (highs) sound strained and weak. And as far as the rumbling bass, its not tight or punchy, just rumbling, all about the power there. After all that though, its a good bargain, and a good addition to any average joe's gaming system. As for easy to setup, this is its greatest strength, and weakness, it has simple connections to the back of the TV, which means it will work with like 98% of TVs out there, but, this means it cant be hooked up to many of the more expensive home theatre systems. Overall, its a great buy for the average Joe, msholly

    Multimedia Surround Sound

This is an excellent step up from the previous speaker system I used. Before I had a regular stereo set up and connected to the PC via a Y cable. These speakers deliver incredible sound. The bass sounds true to pitch and doesn't sound bumpy and cheap. The high tones are great. The only thing about these speakers that are not near perfect is the sound quality when playing games. Voices tend to be washed out by other sounds. I have played a dozen or better different games. Unless they support surround sound the characters voices are difficult to hear over SFX and background music. The only way to correct this is to make your sound card software output 2.1 channel sound and leaving the matrix mode off.

First day of use has shown good sound quality. I primarily use use these for music while I work, work from home. The subwoofer is not super huge, the center channel speaker mounts to the top of my LCD and both are out of the way. The speaker stands swivel to allow for desk top or wall mounting, awesome. The rear speakers have long wires for a computer application, the fronts not so much. My only complaint is that the remote, while having VERY nice adjustment options and a matrix option to create surround sound when not avail, has a wire, wireless would be so much nicer. true 5.1 (with a 5.1 or better sound card, for $110 is a great deal, period.

Pros - Adjustable volume, bass and sound expansion on cabled remote, good sound and deep accurate bass when not pushed, clip on monitor centre channel speaker Cons - Cabled Connectors, makes limiting placement unless you start investing in couplers and extensions to place through out the room.Would have preferred to wire it myself. Undersized sub - Could have used a more beefy sub compared to the internal amp, distorts after 3/4 volume Comments - Great buy when its on sale, otherwise better could be had elsewhere for same or little more money. But good Logitech quality and performace overall

I personally love the speakers, after wasting an arm and a leg at J and R last year on what i was told were GREAT speakers and had to get rid of them because of a little damage, i visited my local friendly BB rep. Within minutes I was on my way home with a great product and no wholes in my wallet. Let me say this I am a gamer, so quality is really vital for me when im playing CS and I need to tell weightier there some one sneaking behind me without turning. These speakers have made a clear sound, and I have spilled a little….. Coffee on them ones or twice. Still kicking and no distorted sounds.

I bought this on impulse last weekend. I went in looking for a new headset and came out with these instead. Great value for the money. The speakers sound so much better than the free speakers that came with my pc. I have had these speakers for several days now and the only issue that I have had with them is a crackling noise when I play lower quality audio files such as low quality mp3 files or some streaming audio such as lower bandwidth streams. With high quality files and audio streams this crackling is not an issue.

Great low cost sound system for PC

If you're looking for a set of speakers for a PC, this product is perfect. It's easy to setup and the cords are a decent length for use in an office. It could be used for a HTPC setup, but in larger rooms it will need extensions for some of the satellite speakers. The only con I could find was that the bass speaker can have some corruption when the volume is set to loud and the audio has heavy bass, but it's not really noticeable when playing games.

Just bought these speakers yesterday and like everyone else has said very easy to set up. The matrix button makes these speakers great for any job, whether it be music, movies, or games. They're very powerful so they should fill up most rooms and I just have to mention how nifty the control pad is. Small, extremely easy to use, and feels great to use. Overall these are great speakers especially for the price. If you're looking to not spend TOO much and still get quality these are the way to go.

The sound on these speakers are really excellent. Very pleased that I upgraded from a two speaker system to this 5.1 system. Very simple to use and great software included. For the price, this is a great buy compared to some of the other high end systems and no real loss in quality. Only negative is, as stated above, is some of the cords aren't long enough and somewhat tricky to mount on walls so you are limited on how you set your system up. This may not be a problem for most.

My old Logitech Z-640 5.1 speakers died after a good 5 years of rock n' roll and hardcore gaming. I miss them. I shop'ed around and in these hard times, I went for this setup. Price was a big factor and I knew I could count on Logitech to deliver on performance. Sound is AWSOME! I took my sweet time setting up my surround sound speakers with extreme detail to hearing height and cable management. Nice job Logitech. Once again, I'm a fan all over again. Thanks!

Great sound and nice bass. Perfect for PCs like it was intended. This product doesn't have a decoder, so its implied that your PC sound card converts it to the 5.1 surround sound. If you want true 5.1 surround sound for a game console or TV, buy a home theater system with a decoder built in (they are much more expensive for that reason). Otherwise, the matrix mode can spread the sound out to the 6 speakers nicely, but it will still only be 2.1 stereo sound.

Using this for my surround sound system in my bedroom right now and the quality is amazing for a hundred bucks. The Subwoofer doesn't produce the really deep bass sound I was looking for but its pretty good. The movies I play are split up to 5.1 perfectly and was really easy to set up. Only thing that brings it down from a 5 to a 4 star would be the cord length. Not nearly long enough for good 5.1 sound quality. Had to splice some cables.

These are great speakers. I just got them the other day and hooked them up to my TV with my Xbox 360 and Wii. They are very simple and easy to set up. Only took me about five minutes to set them up. You can really get into the games with the surround sound. These are a must have for the price and quality. The only problem I had was some of the speaker wires were a little short so I couldn't put the speakers to far apart.

the logitech x-540 system is a great product for somone who is looking for an in expensive product. the logitech dilivers an ok sound but it is not anything like bose but you are going to pay alot more for bose. it is great for watching movies and has a great 5.1 surround sound. the sound is very clear. at high volumes it does not get fussy or the base gets drounded it keeps it at a consistant level.

Just hooked this thing up, it sounds amazing. The only downside I have found so far is that the wires are a little to short. Even the wires for the front speakers I can barely even reach to hook them up without putting to much stress on them. Also if you have a corner desk like I do it could be a little pain to get them hooked up right. Overall awesome product, highly recommended for the price.

Before buying these speakers I looked at reviews here at Best Buy and New Egg. I was prepared to need RCA extension cables, so I knew it going into the purchase. Well for my setup I did not need the extension, I was quite surprised. The sound is nice, the bass is very decent, and a cinch to setup. The center speaker has a clip on it so it can sit atop Flat Panel monitors.

This is a great speaker set. Easy to set up, plenty of power, and style that will last as long as long as these quality pieces of equipement. My only wish is that the rear speakers were wireless as similar speakers from Creative are in order to ease set up and wiring. Other than that, no complaints, enjoying the sound and quality with my music and games.
