Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Z506 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers' sound quality, bass, and ease of use. Many also appreciate the value for the price and the ample volume. However, some customers mention that the cable lengths could be longer, and a lack of wireless functionality is a common point of feedback. A small number of users reported issues with some speakers not functioning correctly.

This speaker system is so sexy. I don't mean appearance wise because it does look very bland however I don't mind that at all because performance wise...this speaker system is amazing. The sound is so clear, the setup is easy..took me less than 5 minutes to just plug into my desktop and the rest is history. Definitely a good investment and comes with 2 year warranty in case it malfunctions or breaks. The price is fairly reasonable considering how much a very decent speaker system costs with surround sound capabilities let alone a sub-woofer. In all honesty...I don't even need to turn the sub woofer up that much to get epic base when playing music or gaming. I'm in love with this speaker system and I can't help but love it even more because it's Logitech and after buying Logitech products for the past 5 or 6 years, they have yet to fail me.

So far I have been extremely pleased with this purchase. I have a laptop permanently connected to a 50" plasma TV in our basement which is used for Blu-ray and Netflix viewing. The speakers on the TV itself are sub-par as are most on flat panels. This was a great solution to bump sound quality for cheap. The bass is much, much better than I expected it to be. For the size, I was thinking it would be there but not noticeable (I was wrong). With the volume turned up, you can feel the floor shake a bit when you are upstairs. I have been very impressed with how loud these small speakers can get. I actually turned the bass down to about 80%. For a basement set up, this has turned out fantastic.

These sounded great at first, but within two months of purchasing this, half of the speakers had stopped working. I guess you get what you pay for.

First off I have read the other peoples reviews, and I can't duplicate any of their complaints regarding the quality of the sounds, these really great small speakers produce. I am running them off my five year old plus H.P. desktop system a really old audio card. But the sounds are great crisp and clear, Bass is powerful for such a small system. IMHO many if not all of the complaints about these speakers are because the operators have set the system up wrong or their other system is having problems not related to the speaker system. Maybe I just don't have a great set of ears, but Grace Slick sure sounds great coming from them. ;-) The build quality is A1+ solid and Designed very well. system is very easy to get set up and working. For their price I feel these speakers are a great buy, I love mine.

I purchased a Dell Inspirion and the plug-in cords do not match the input/outpu colors. I ended up using only 3 speakers because I was getting frusterated as to where each cord went.

Underpowered and bass heavy... bass also distorts long before it gets very loud, this is with bass only halfway up. I returned it and got the Logitech z906 system.

    Great Logitech Speakers

If you've never experienced true 5.1 surround sound, have a capable sound card and your content primarily resides on your PC, the Logitech Z506 are a fantastic introduction. When it comes to analog surround sound, anyone can hook up two or three sets of quality two-channel speakers to get a similar effect, so the onus is on Logitech to make combo 5.1 packages like this easy to use and set up.

For audio quality these fail to satisfy experienced and perceptive ears. A career classical music presenter needs a fuller palette of sound.

I will never know if these speakers work. They will not connect for 5.1 surround to any of my computers that have 5.1 surround capabilities. Best Buy's website is deceptive about returns... only 15 days and half of that was used with shipping. By the time I opened the box to discover the connectivity problems it was too late. The Best Buy employee and Manager were both rude and obviously didn't want me as a customer ever again.

this is the third set of logitech speakers i have owned (s120 and ls21 were prior) and this set blows them out of the water. the base is deep, the volume is loud and crisp, haven't hardly got mine over 1/2 volume just to see when they can do easily shake my desk the set up is pretty fast for these, just match up the right color i tried the x540, and that is why i bought these, some people saw these dont sound as good as the x540, but i disagree, i wish the appearance was a little different, but they still look nice i researched speakers for about 4 months prior before i bought these, and these were at the lot of the list the entire time the only thing that i could see people wanting is the wall mounts if you have a crowded desk, but i make it work the base control is on the back, which is not bad if you dont adjust it, i have all my speakers on the top of my desk, so the sub woofer is easy to control i just tried the 2nd input and it works just as good as the speakers i am using them on a laptop, so you dont need to use the black and the orange cable to get all speakers working there is a slight buzz when the speakers are on without playing sound, but it is taken away by hitting the power button or playing music i have owned this for about a month now and am still blown away with the sound

I'm very particular about my sound when listening to music, these speakers suck. You get a horrid sound during certain songs, possibly from bass, sounds like it's in a tin can or tunnel, lacks bass badly. Very disappointed with these speakers.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase! First and foremost, packaging is superb. The sub and speakers are all carefully placed and each speaker/cable has plastic wrap around them and the cables are neatly tied together. Instructions for setup including PC, gaming consoles, and other devices are printed on the box. Setup: Setting these up was a breeze. Even if you don't use the instructions provided, the sub is labeled well and color coded to ensure you plug the cables in the correct ports. The only issue I had was cable management because of the excess cable I had but that does not affect the product whatsoever. The speakers themselves don't take up much desk space either which is nice. Sound: The sound is great! I upgraded from two smaller Cyber Acoustics speakers. With a large L-shape desk, I'm able to cover all areas of the desk with these speakers which makes for a nice "surround sound" feel. The sub has excellent bass for such a small unit. You're able to easily adjust how much bass you'd like with the knob on the back. All in all excellent purchase. I would definitely recommend these if you're looking to upgrade!
