Picked these up for a new computer and they certainly do the job. Was looking for a pair with the puck volume control but these have been great even though it is all on the right speaker instead.

Good sound full range. Not just bass and cymbals. Using in a music station with Yamaha midi and a mini Mac. Very good with power and keeping up with the stereo amp set up. I’d buy then again

I love great audio and have a good mid-range $500 5.1 speaker system setup for when I need that sound at home, but I wanted some decent speakers that could be use for a smaller space and the 5.1 system was definitely an overkill for that. If you are shopping for some decent quality speakers without a huge budget, but aren't sure what to get, this may help you. (TLDR: It depends on what you are looking for) For comparisons, I have/had the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1, The Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers, and a 2.0 speakers Edifier e25 Luna. All of these speakers I would say can fill a small room easily with sound, but aren't designed for big parties. The Pro Media and Z623 are closest in comparisons as they are both 2.1 speaker systems and are at a close price point when on sale. The z623 is slightly cheaper ($80), but is offset by the fact that it doesn't have bluetooth (could be a con, see below) and is slightly inferior in sound quality to the Pro Media ($100). The Edifier for a side comparison is a 2.0 speaker system that is significantly more than the other two when comparing sale prices as well (~$130-$160). Of course your mileage may vary with sale pricing. Overall, I would say the Klipsch has the best sound quality of the 3. It has the best all around sound in the frequency spectrum. I would say to get this one if not for one HUGE caveat that stopped me from buying it -- It has bluetooth that cannot be turned off. This means that if you have the system permanently setup, it's possible neighbors or people nearby can connect to it and ruin your life without you having any control over it. Deal breaker for me. There are non-bluetooth models around, but I haven't seen them on sale much. The Z623 was about $20 cheaper when on sale than the Klipsch, and has great bass and treble, but I found the mid range a little lacking in comparison to the highs and lows. This can be relatively smoothed out by using software equalizers to be better, but it was worth mentioning if you like/need having out of the box balanced sound. For the price though, they are still very good sounding and I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again at the sale price. Finally, for a comparison with a 2.0 setup, the Edifier e25 Lunas are beautiful speakers and also the most expensive of the bunch. Lacking a subwoofer, it's instantly noticable for music or SFX that has a lack of low frequency bass ~60hz or less. No amount of equalizer can compensate for the speakers not having a subwoofer. However for everything that heavy bass emphasized, it was fantastic. Ironically this was also a positive in my book because I wanted speakers that could play great music without bothering my neighbors at night. These speakers also have bluetooth that anyone can connect to, but the bluetooth can be turned off. So what's the best of the bunch? It depends on your needs. All I can say is that I wouldn't hesitate to get either the Z623 or Edifier e25 on sale as long as you understand their limitations.

I recently went to a relatives house and he has the z635 set from logitec and the sound wuality and bass absolutely blew me away. I had been looking for some new speakers for my system because my hearing is terrible but i didnt want to break the bank. So, i did some research and read up on the z623 system and decided to try them out. They were absolutely worth the purchase. Their sound quality is amazing and the bass is borderline over the top(in a good way). I’d absolutely recommend these speakers to anyone looking to upgrade their PC audio. 10/10

look i know its all in the individual ear, but this is far and away the best computer speakers ive ever owned, ive used them during movie playback, gaming, playing music, and everything is superb, the bass is not booming but perfect for the situation, the sound quality is second to none, i own a home theatre and am familiar with speaker sound, you can tell once you open the box its way better, the speakers are significantly heavier than standard computer speakers, the setup took me all of 5 minutes to complete, just plug and play, i opted for the analog since i dont really need the optical imput from the z625 setup, im doing this at the same day i purchased them, so i know they will just keep on amazing me with the sound quality, would recommend them to anyone.

Just ordered and set up my second set of these. The first set I ordered back in 2013 and they ran strong with no issues for the decade I owned them. Finally, after years of use, the stress I put on the cables in my wiring finally caused them to short out a bit when messed with. After months of trying different setups and deliberating what direction to go, I finally decided to just get another set of these. The sound and quality is immense, and the price is just too good to pass up. Just got the new speakers set up and I can say that I made the right decision to get another set. I cannot recommend these speakers enough. The build quality, sound, form factor, and price are all superb. If you're on the fence about these, please trust the good reviews and get them. Unless you have very specific tastes or needs, such as an audiophile r highly specific use cases, these will certainly cover the 99% of use cases.

Needed new speakers for my laptop that is connected to my led tv. Looked at reviews for this and the klipsh one which was similar in price and decided to go with this due to bigger sub and just overall better looking plus it was on sale. Easy to plug and play and it made my tv sound so weak without it. Movies had more oomph almost like I was at the theaters. Streaming videos and music had more clarity and overall louder. I only set my volume 1/3 and sub 1/3 of the way and it is loud enough for me and my bf. I connect this thru my laptop and I only need to control volume on my computer which most of the time I need to lower it and I don't have to go up to the speakers to do it. Btw we only use this in the bedroom so if you have a larger area like living room then maybe need to set volume/sub higher. Had the old creative 2.1 speakers b4 from way back and this outperforms it in many ways. Great Speakers+Luv it!

Bought this system after getting annoyed with the previous system sounded like listening through a cardboard tube. Moved into a new place where the computer room is a lot smaller than the previous place. Last place had room for a full bookshelf speaker monitor system with separate amp etc. Needed something that sounded good, but didn't take up a lot of space. Picked up a used system from goodwill to have better sound from the tv in the rv. works ok for that but really bad for music. Numerous reviews for the new logitec system rated this system close to the top (with the best seeming to look like it came out of the museum of modern art) I te nd to listen to what is called progressive rock, or prog-rock. Instruments rage from light acoustrical winds and strings to heavy electric bass and drums. On the whole, I like the sounds from this system, Highs are real clear and bass will have you moving. Volume sounds good at low levels, but still kicks out pretty well when turned up. There seems to be a slight lack of clarity in some of the lower mid ranges, somewhere between the mids and the sub, but that may be mitigated with an equalizer program. Sub fits under my desk with no problem and the main units aren't too big or obtrusive. Speaker technology has come a long way since I was a kid. Would have killed for a set up like this back then. To get any significant sound improvement you're going to either have to go to the 5.1 systems or start spending a lot more money. Keep in mind this is in a 10x12 room, and bigger rooms will require more sound to fill it. What could be better? I would have liked to see better eq control on the front of the speaker. Only has a volume and bass level knobs. I've noticed a small humm coming through the speakers while scrolling through web pages with nothing playing. Could be my motherboard sound card section, or some other rf interference. Could be the wires and connectors need better grounding or shielding. Not a huge problem and only noticeable if you listen for it. Slight gaps in the crossover frequency, again mostly if you're listening for it. Otherwise a good unit and doing what I wanted it for.

I was looking to buy soeakers for the last time in a while and this is the best possible outcome. For the price this is as good as it gets truley they may be small but they’ shake the room.

Good sound quality. Plenty of volume. Reasonable price. The downside is the cords. Both of the smaller speakers hook into the base speaker. One hooks in with an RCA connector and the other with a HD15 type of connector. Cord lengths are doable, but are shorter than I would like. I would prefer that Logitech would just use speaker wire.

For starters/a background of my situation: I have this system setup in my office and use it for movies and music. I originally bought cheaper $20 Insignia speakers thinking they would do the job. Needless to say, I upgraded to a much more expensive system and have zero regrets. Pros: - Incredible bass: this system is 400 watts and you can feel every bit of it. I live in an apartment and constantly fear that even in the middle of the day the system is too loud. At less than halfway on the volume knob, you can hear walls and accents shaking in the room. The subwoofer is very large, but even the desktop speakers themselves are rich in bass. - Individual bass controls: there is a main volume knob for overall volume as well as a smaller knob that controls just the bass. I primarily keep the bass knob at 75% because at 100% it can be overwhelming and drown out sound at low and mid volumes. - Auxiliary output: this is both a pro and a con (see later in "cons"). Aux output is fairly universal so I can plug in my phone, laptop, xbox controller (game volume) etc. - Simple setup: as is the case for most 3-speaker sets, it is as simple as wiring both speakers to the sub, and plugging the sub into the wall. From there you can use the aux output to your device from the right-side desktop speaker. - Overall sound: as redundant to the incredible bass mention as it may be, it is worth noting multiple times how incredible the sound is from these speakers. The THX certification is not only heard, but felt anytime there's a 'boom' during an action scene. I'm personally not much of an audiophile so I won't overreach and try to do a breakdown of how the sound breaks-down at each level and decibel, but what I can mention is that every input sounds crisp, clear, loud, and booming. Cons: - Bluetooth: one of the only features that could improve this speaker set. However, this is not a requirement or huge drawback. - Design/appearance: yet again, not something that makes me think less of the speakers, but something that could be improved. There are other speakers, even Logitech, that have a much better look. Overall, these speakers are nothing short of incredible and I have no regrets upgrading to these. Most Best Buy stores I've been in have demos available - I would highly recommend giving a listen and seeing for yourself.

Powerful and Immersive Sound: Logitech Z623 System

Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Introduction: I’ve been using the Logitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System since May of 2021, and it’s been a solid addition to my desktop setup. This review will highlight the pros and cons of this speaker system, hopefully providing potential buyers with essential information to make an informed decision. Pros: Immersive Sound Experience: The Logitech Z623 delivers a powerful and immersive sound experience. The 2.1 channel system is 330 TOTAL watts, with 130W going to the 7” ported subwoofer and 100W per satellite speaker. This amount of power ensures clear audio and deep, rich bass. I found that the audio quality was quite good whether I was gaming, watching movies, or listening to music. Robust Bass Performance: The subwoofer in this system is outstanding given the price point. It adds depth and intensity to low-frequency sounds, making explosions, music beats, and action sequences come alive. I live in an apartment building and find myself having to turn the bass down quite a bit. For those in my same situation, this is something to be aware of. If you care about your neighbors, turn this down. If not, have a blast as this woofer can easily fill a medium to large room with thumping bass and make your neighbors hate you. Convenient Control and Connectivity: The control pad is one of the more convenient features of the Z623 system. On the right satellite, you have easy access to volume adjustment, power, and bass control. Additionally, the system provides multiple connectivity options, including RCA and 3.5mm inputs, making it compatible with various devices. Sturdy Build Quality: The speakers and subwoofer are well-built and feel solid. The satellite speakers have a sleek design that complements any desktop or entertainment setup. The system is built to last and withstand regular use. Cons: Lack of Wireless Connectivity: One notable drawback of the Logitech Z623 is the absence of wireless connectivity options such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This means you'll need a wired connection to your audio source, which may limit placement options. Satellite Speaker Cable Length: The length of the cables connecting the satellite speakers to the subwoofer may be a bit short for some setups. I recently upgraded to a 63x30 inch desktop and found that I was at the limits of the cable lengths. This is especially prevalent if you plan on cable managing as you can quickly run into issue. It's important to consider the distance between the subwoofer and the satellite speakers to ensure optimal placement and positioning. Lack of Upgradeability: One limitation of the Logitech Z623 is its lack of upgradeability. The connectors used in this system are non-standard, which means you cannot easily replace or upgrade individual components. Furthermore, the subwoofer cannot be used independently without the satellite speakers, limiting your flexibility in configuring or expanding your audio setup. Limited Equalizer Options: While the sound quality of the Z623 is excellent out of the box, some users might desire more customization options. The system lacks advanced equalizer settings, which may restrict audio fine-tuning to personal preferences. This is not a huge issue, as software EQ can get the job done in most cases. Additional Information: Power Requirements: The Logitech Z623 requires a power outlet for operation. Ensure you have a nearby power source available for the subwoofer and speakers. Compatibility: The Z623 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including computers, laptops, gaming consoles, TVs, and DVD players. Ensure that your device has an available RCA or 3.5mm output for connection. Room Size Consideration: The Logitech Z623 is well-suited for medium-sized rooms but may be overkill for smaller spaces. Make sure to consider the size of your room and your desired audio experience when choosing a speaker system. Conclusion: The Logitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System offers an immersive sound experience with powerful bass and convenient controls. While it lacks wireless connectivity and advanced equalizer options, it excels in delivering high-quality audio for gaming, movies, and music. If you're seeking an affordable and reliable 2.1 speaker system for your entertainment setup, the Logitech Z623 is a solid choice.

Have had this set for about 2.5 years now. Blown away by the clarity and bass response from this desktop set. I opted for this over the Klipsch, which the latter can never be powered off and the blue power on light is an eyesore that needs electrical tape. I bought this on-sale, below triple digits. The 3.5mm and RCA input jacks are versatile for various applications. If this set isn’t onsale, I’d likely consider other options.
