    Good, Wholesome Sci-Fi

Seasons Two and Three of this classic Irwin Allen TV show are definitely different then the tone set in Season One, which was a lot more serious. Jonathan Harris loosens his character up quite a bit as Dr. Smith, but sometimes his menace as the villian did come back as he presented in Season One of the series. The main reason why the show was heading in another direction was due to Mr. Allen's one great weakness - every time he began a TV series, he soon lost interest in it over time. If his interest remained on with what he was working on, the series would probably been on the air longer. However,it is still fun to watch. Good wins over evil, Billy Mumy's character of Will Robinson develops and the special effects hold up well. Episodes which stand out as the best are - The Anti-Matter Man, which strongly conveys the dark side every person has and what it takes to control it; plus The Space Destructors, which clearly sends a message that never will change (As In The Novel Frankenstein) when man plays God, Disaster will always happen. Well worth the effort in getting and watching with your kids.
