No need to take off the electronics inside the bag for security in TSA. Just unzip and everything shows.

It was the perfect carry on for the plain. He had his camera and lenses and extra room for other things he wanted on the trip. It is well padded and protective. It rained while we were at one of the ports and nothing in the bag got wet. This was a great purchase.
