    Lutron Caseta Works Great!

I have been testing several products that work with Apple HomeKit. Lutron Caseta is my favorite switch because it is reliable with its connection to HomeKit. I also purchased the Lutron Hub. I like that the switch does not take extra wires to work the remote. The switch has 2 pigtails to connect to so it keeps the box neat. The remote is wireless and you are able to pair multiple remotes. For the remote there is a nice mounting bracket to allow it to mount in to a box or on the wall. The middle button on the remote will put you back to the last dimmed setting. Love that.

I have several of these throughout my home. They work great without needing a neutral wire. Most newer homes have the neutral in the outlet box, but since this dimmer doesn't need it, the wiring is a bit faster. Lutron Caseta now works with Smartthings, and it seems to work very well most of the time. The integration is cloud to cloud, so there's a bit of a delay (especially if you are trying to use a lutron device as the trigger for other events, it seems the lutron hub takes its time sending the event back to smartthings). If you use something in smartthings to trigger the lutron device to turn on or off the delay is not as noticeable. The Alexa, Google, and Siri integration is responsive as well.

I've installed a number of these in the house now along with the bridge device and they just work. I love the ability to start to use automation. These are also good as standalone. Easy to install and easy to pair the remote for another location. If you want to mount the pico remote in an existing light switch location (2-way) you'll need to purchase the PICO-WBX-ADAPT. This will allow you to put it in an existing box. The wires at that location will be all connected together so it will just use the remote to communicate to the main switch.

We recently moved into a smart home and wanted both a Lutron Bridge and a series of Lutron devices to control lights in our new house. Easy to use, and simple to work with once you get things set up. Compatible with Apple Homekit. My one concern is that for three way switches the current controls only work on one switch.

This switch is one of the few that works with HomeKit and does not require a neutral wire. This is because it sips current to keep itself powered rather than using a neutral line. It works very well with HomeKit. It was the only choice in my old house without neutral wires and no reasonable way to add them. The only downside is that the buttons are difficult to properly press in the dark. You end up fumbling around trying the press the flat buttons which are all at the same height and flush with the device. Lack of a raised button for at least the on button that resembles all other switches is unfortunate. Because of this I only use them where necessary in a detached building so we can turn them off from the main house. The usability (and price) keep me from deploying them everywhere, which I would actually enjoy otherwise. However, they do work from HomeKit very reliably.

I have purchased eight of these for around my house. Love that I can drive home and certain lights automatically come on as I approach my house. Also great I can turn off key house lights from the app....when in bed and forgot to turn off a light. Fairly easy to install (not much more complex than replacing a light switch) and the software setup is very easy. The Wifi interface works well...just have to be sure it is located in the center to maximize range. This product has been very reliable!

The Lutron Caseta Wireless Dimmer Switch kit when installed with the Caseta Bridge was the perfect way for me to provide convenient light control from my iPhone and iPad while at the same time enabling me to add ambience to previously brightly lit rooms. I love the having option of using either Siri or the Pico remote to control and adjust each room's lighting. Being able to control and program my lighting remotely via my iPhone and iPad gives the impression I am home (when not) and thus provides a level of security for me and my home.

After much review, I recently began switching from Insteon to Lutron. I found Lutron to be more compatable with different ecosystems like Homekit, Comcast, Amazon Alexa, etc. I'm glad I switched. This Lutron setup was easy and it presents itself nice...unlike Philip Hue switches which are odd looking and don't fit in standard switch boxes. This switch allowed me to replace the dining room light. I was also able to use the pico remote to add an additional light switch. I'm looking forward to buying more....

The product was easy to install and unlike other smart switches, this one does not require a neutral wire. I intended to replace my adjustable ceiling fan switch with this, however the fan had a weird buzzing noise after the switch was installed. The product documentation only mentions using it with light bulbs, so I'm not upset that it didn't workout with my fan. I moved the switch to my front garage lights and it works perfect.

I've installed 10 Caseta in-wall dimmers in my 2-story house. My previous experience with trying to automate lighting in my home involved TCP bulbs. Suffice it to say that I should have listened when someone in a review said that TCP stood for Totally Cr*ppy Product. I also had used Phillips Hue bulbs as well, which worked OK in terms of turning on and off, but buzzed too loudly for my taste. The Caseta dimmers are pretty easy to work. I had them installed by my electrician, but I set them up myself using their app. The only thing that was a little difficult was figuring out where to set up a schedule for the lights. (Hint: Look under Scenes in the app.) I was a little frustrated that the Caseta website was totally useless when it came to explaining how to set up schedules, but I did eventually figure it out thanks to a web review of the product that said it should be under Scenes. The only other thing to point out is that when you're creating a schedule, you have to create two entries: one for turning the light on, one for turning it off. But within that, you're able to set not only when the light comes on and goes off, but the percentage at which it is dimmed, and you can also create schedules based on sunset and sunrise. I also like that I can set icons for different light types (sconce versus light bulb versus outdoor light) and assign lights to groups, but I cannot figure out how to change where a light is assigned if I screwed it up the first time. But that said, it does turn my lights on and off when I tell it to, which is head and shoulders above what those stupid TCP bulbs did.

Perfect for when buying smart light bulbs is not an option. I have track lights in my house and buying smart light bulbs is not an option since it will be to expensive. It works perfectly and is not difficult to install. The installation instructions are easy to follow but if you go to their website you can watch instructions videos which will make it even more easy. Also it works perfect with Alexa and their App.

I was going to use TP Link's smart switches instead. They tend to be much more affordable. The problem I ran into with them is I don't have neutral wires in most of my house's wall boxes. Personally, I don't need the dimming or even the Pico remote this setup offers and would love for these to cost less. Also, not crazy about using a central hub (which these need and the TP link switches do not). That being said this saved me the cost and headache of an electrician. They are more attractive then others on the market and they fit into the boxes more easily. I am happy with my purchase. Have had issues with a couple of these having a problem with the bottom screw hole for the switch plate. The screws won't lock into place. It's been in the minority of the ones I have, but I dinged it a star for that.

This is a really great option to adding dimming control, a second location (for times when you don't have or need a three way or four way switch), and overall wireless control to a light. The hub works great and as a bonus it all works with Siri and amazons alexa. No neural wire is required with this product which is a bonus for old homes and even some new ones like mine that doesn't have a neutral in every box.

Used this and one extra remote and mounting plate o replace a three way dimmer installation - took all of ten minutes to install. Now i have push button dimmers and a handy remote to turn down the lights while watching movies - love it. Wish I'd sprung for the kit with Lutron hub, but I'll probably buy that later to allow cell phone operation and automation. Overall excellent product.

I am very pleased with the Lutron Caseta dimmer that I purchase. I installed 6 so far and will do a few more. The lutron app works great and has many features such as timers and scene where you can have different Lights come on at selected times. They work with well with Alexa and harmony remotes. Buy one and you will want to buy another.

I first purchased the dimmer with the hub and bought this along with it for a second lighting circuit. Because this a simple add on, here was my review of the hub unit that you need first! I was looking for a smart home control to switch on and off along with dim my lighting that worked with both an iOS app but also with Amazon's Alexa and echo. So many seem to be limited to one or the other or have to use IFFTT to work around. This is simple and easy to set up right out of the box. A note to owners who have 3 way switch wiring. While the box states the switch does not work with 3 way wiring, my plan was to simply eliminate the second switch and install the remote switch (included...sweet!!) where the second switch was. Don't know why Lutron doesn't call it out, but they have a great walk through on how to disconnect the second switch and what to do with the wiring! Win Win!!! Found that out after I got home! They did exactly what I planned to do! After you buy this unit with the hub, the next units are easy to add! Planning now on where to add my thrid one! Alexa, turn on the living room lights............ !!!! Even my wife is addicted!!

I have a shared bathroom with two doors, the original switch is close to one side of the entrance. This product saved me so much headache and money. I don’t have to rewired the original switch. After the installation, I stick the remote as the second switch for the other entrance.

Wiring this device was simple and quick, even for a 3-way setup. Included instructions were clear and straightforward. Pairing the device with the remote was quick with no problems. Works extremely well using additional remotes, I have three. Dimming is full range with little or no hum. Highly recommended.

Easy to install and use. If you have ever taken a replaced a regular switch then you know it can be a pain if you say...forget which wire went where. The tech in the switch helps by auto detecting the wires for an easy install. Which for me justified the cost. Took less than 10 minutes from breaker off to breaker on.

    Best Switches Made by Lutron

I think Lutron makes the best switches. After looking and researching online at the different options for smart lighting, I went with Lutron. Their switches are solid and look great with many features. Installed them myself and they went right into the wall boxes and look like they have always been there. They can be controlled manually or through an app that works via a hub. The app has many features and options to customize the lighting to suit you. I have multiple profiles set up for the different areas such as reading, studying, relaxing, movie/tv watching. etc. Recommend these!
