The BEST massage gun

This is without question the best massage gun I’ve ever reviewed. I have owned Theragun and Hyperice so I have a good benchmark to go by.
Here is why:
1) Ergonomics- it’s light and easy to hold. It has an attachable handle so it’s easy to reach spots on your back that you couldn’t without a partner.
2) Minimal handle vibration- this is very underrated when reviewing massage guns. I never get tired of using this massage gun, with others I get tired of holding it after a while from all of the vibrations my hand encounters.
3) Wi-Fi updates- I am sure other massage guns are going to copy this. This gun has the ability over time to improve if they want to add additional patterns
4) Style- this doesn’t matter much to me but I believe this is the best looking of any gun and it has a nice stand to rest it on.

Very good massager, very good strength and really good quality. One downside is when battery nears 5% or less, it freezes and doesn't turn off so if you are done using it, you basically just let it run till it dies before you charge it again. Really odd feature. But overall, i like it alot.

I bought this unit because it has more options for power and how it is delivered.
"More options for power" is meant to indicate being able to lower the vibrator speed or other specific capabilities which are often overwhelming due to the power.
One issue with this massage unit us is that you need to spend a great deal of time on the website how to learn the capabilities that this unit provides.

Put it to work soon as i got home. Works great. I don't have to put pressure. I can pinpoint pain area's. And the preset program actually feels good. I added the BBY protection so to be worry free for 2 years. Only downside is i didn't buy 2 lol.

It's nice as it has a touch screen and some additional pre-set modes for certain therapies, but the touch screen is too sensitive (Which should be a nice thing, but...) so, while using it, you'll accidentally touch the screen and it will pause. This is the biggest issue.

GREAT MASSAGER w/ BUGS and QUIRKS

First, I will say I was pleasantly surprised by both the power and portability of the Lyric Massager. After opening the box - the presentation is premium and well-thought-out, from the packaging to the fit layout of accessories. Everything is self-contained in the base, which serves as the wireless charger too. The rhythmic massage is different from the other percussive massagers I own and use. It felt different to my muscles and like I was "warmed up" and ready to go quicker. Setting it up is simple and straightforward - follow the onscreen prompts.
First Impressions!
This is QUALITY, innovation, and thoughtful engineering in development. There will be an app soon, so this will only get better from here! This is solid, and it is just the right size to keep it around and actually use. I like the guided and timed massages. The rhythmic movements are noticeable over the traditional percussive guns out there with the use of different programs with different rhythms and strengths. Both guided and manual options are available, making this suitable for those new to the self-care massaging world too.
Needs Improvement
-The Base-
Now, it's time for some of the bad stuff. While the base is a big part of tying together everything in a minimalist package, it is also the biggest problem with its current design. The base separates easily with the device in the cradle. The bottom often falls apart, with the attachments scattering everywhere. You will learn how to grab this right (w/ two hands) after this happens a few times, or you'll come up with your own fix. This is an easy fix in R&D, but I use an elastic band to keep it together for now. It gets extremely hot while charging when plugged in and used as a wireless charger.
-Sudden stops -
Another annoyance to me is when you touch the display (accidentally most of the time) while massaging, it immediately stops and ends whatever you are doing, and you have to start over (this has been fixed in new firmware update).
-Restarts during setup -
During the setup process, if you - for whatever reason - do not finish the setup process, you will need to redo it from the beginning. It seems to be an early release that could be tweaked for fixes like this. My Lyric is running v 0.8.9, so I think this could be an early release of the software.
-Is It Charging? -
There is also no way to tell if it is charging or not. If you plug it in, nothing happens-not a vibration or a sound. You'll need to navigate to the info screen to see the lightning bolt. The only way to tell it is charging is after a while - it gets warm.
-Back button -
It feels pointless to have a button that only goes back on some screens. It does not work as you would expect when you.
-OS Interface -
Things feel really early and unfinished. Things are not intuitive, and someone needs to make the button make sense. Make it the "ok" button or the "back" button when it makes sense. If you are on the home screens looking through the options and maybe you passed something and want to go back. Maybe make the icons full screen and make it the ok button.
-Touch Screen -
The touch screen isn't the greatest and often misses inputs and becomes an annoyance. When you swipe, it doesn't register, but it works enough to stop your massage when you are massaging... go figure.
Verdict
This is definitely useable, and I only see it getting better from here. The device itself is fantastic, and I encourage anyone looking at percussive massagers to look at this one. This is a nice thing to keep in your gym bag after a long training session. It works wonders on your feet!

Hi. THANK YOU for this great feedback and glad you like it! It's thanks to customers like you that we are able to continually improve the experience. Like you said, it will just keep getting better and better. Thanks to the Lyric's Wi-Fi capability, we will be making regular software updates that not only add new features and therapies but also address feedback such as yours! In fact, many of your points are already being addressed: sudden stops, restarts, OS interface, touch screen, charging indicator. New firmware updates are already rolling out. As for the hardware (the base separating), our engineers are addressing the design. As for warmth of the device when charging, just like some other everyday electrical devices this is normal and nothing to be worried about. Thanks again and hope you continue enjoy the Lyric!

Bought this 8 months ago and the internal battery appears to be dead. Fortunately, it has a 1 year warranty, unfortunately their website is down and they haven't posted on social media in a long time. Ruh Roah! Hope I'm not SOL. Will update review if the website issue is just a blip.

Having not had any other massagers prior to this one take this review with a grain of salt. The massager is well built and comes with a variety of modes which can be selected using the touch screen. Be advised it is very easy to accidentally touch the screen while using it. I have not used any of the smart features or guided massages but the variety of attachments provide plenty of options.

I really wanted to like this purchase.
Sadly, it only connects with Apple products. It would not keep a charge and the screen instructions were difficult to naviagte. I wanted to keep the item, but customer service was terrible with any assistance.

I'm going to be honest, I had high hopes for this device. Great idea, just poor execution. Unfortunately, the app is still not available for use, and the device itself is not really good without more modes and adjustments. The built in ones are pretty basic, and don't provide much benefit in my opinion. The fact that they released this without the app is mind boggling to me. It's been months now and still not app. The price is outrageous for this for what it does. It also got really hot when charging. Do yourself a favor and get a Theragun or something else.

Hi. Appreciate the feedback. The companion app is around the corner but being WiFi enabled, the Lyric is not reliant on it. I’m not sure if you connected your device but when you do, you can unlock plenty of new therapies and experiences beyond the “built in” ones that you reference. We’re making constant upgrades and improvements. We’d be happy to guide you through setup. Just reach out to us at [email protected]. As for the pricing, compare $199 with the brand you referenced and draw your own conclusion!!

I literally just got this last night. It was at 40% batter when I opened the box I went through the set up process and used it for a minute I found it to actually be pretty uncomfortable it bounced of my back if that makes sense I tried in not so bony parts of my body and still find that when it slows down it bounces and hurts I also don’t like that that it speeds up and slows down by itself after about 20 minutes being in the battery died it’s been in the charger for about 12 hours and is only at 53% I will most likely be returning it.

Surprise Gift Wins Big

I ended up getting this gift for my wife's birthday back in January. I had mistaken bought the wrong gift and ended up exchanging it for this when the Dyson Airwrap sold out. It ended up being one of the best gifts I've ever bought for my wife and I use it often as well. It will be way better once the app is up and running, but you really don't need it. For anyone trying to improve their wellness routine, this does much more than massage. The guided modes are actually calming for you. The other ones on the market are really made for athletes and feel too overpowered.

This gives a wonderful percussion massage! I was skeptical at first, but willing to take a chance on a new product. I was extremely impressed by the design and build. It was not difficult to connect to Wi-Fi and the setup was done in 5 minutes. I have tried the rythym’s and installed therapies and have been impressed. I find myself using this 4 or 5 times a week when work/life gets stressful and it really helps. I would recommend and I cannot wait for the app.

I thought I’d try this new therapeutic massager but my boyfriend and I were both disappointed. Setup was not a pleasant experience as it kept looping even after it said I was connected. Using it was okay, but just okay. We didn’t like the rhythmic massaging, but that may be a personal preference. But we both agreed it just wasn’t powerful enough. Then the real disappointment happened. After setting it up and messing with it for maybe 20 minutes, it completely stopped working. The screen turned black but I could still see light bleeding from the edges, so I could tell it was still on. We tried to get it to force reset to no avail and the Lyric website and user manual surely didn’t have any useful information. I let it die and checked it in the morning after charging a bit and it seemed like it was working again.. for like a minute. Then the screen went black again and has stayed that way. So after maybe 20 minutes of use, this thing appears to be a goner. I won’t even bother getting an exchange, it’s just going back. This whole experience has been very disappointing.
Side note: As I mentioned, I did try searching the Lyric website and faq, but there is no useful info currently on there. Their app isn’t even ready yet, just “coming soon” at the time of this review. Their customer service is also as useless currently. I reached out and so far have only received an automated response.

Hi there. Thank you so much for the feedback. We listen our valued customers and we use comments like these to continually learn and improve the experience. Overall, we have seen overwhelming positive feedback so I am sorry you had a sub-par experience. Of the thousands of Lyrics sold, we have not encountered the issues you speak of so it seems we let you down with a rare faulty device. In fact, Lyric has gone through (and is still going through) extensive "aging testing," meaning we use and abuse it for weeks to identify issues and ensure its safety. As for the rhythmic massage and the "power," when the device is connected to Wi-Fi you'll be able to update the software that includes options for all tastes, including a non-rhythmic therapy as well as more "powerful" options (however, Lyric is based on vibroacoustic science, meaning users don't have to apply as much pressure as some of the more aggressive percussion guns on the market). Finally, THANK YOU for your feedback on the FAQs. We are building these out but it seems we need to do so faster! If you would like to give us another try or would like to speak to someone from the brand live, please reach out to us at [email protected].
