Good Alternative to Full iMac
|Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better alternative if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a full iMac. Still get the functionality, ease of use, and clean look of an apple machine, but you can use an old monitor mouse and keyboard to save you some money.

Best price/performance value for small desktop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome little machine, very fast and responsive. Quiet. Easy to setup and small. Be sure you test your software with it. 8GB wasn’t enough for my stock trading app, so had to return for 16gb machine.

M1 is the way to go.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing works so smooth. Ive used ios and ipados but I havent had a mac before. This computer runs so smooth and fast and takes up minimal space. One unexpected beneft was being able to play apple arcade games using your computer keyboard. I recently started playing ballistic baseball on apple arcade and found it much more fun to play woth keyboard controls. This is not a gaming computer by any means. I just like the continuity of apple services across the different hardware.

Very impressive hardware and MACOS is great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing performance, M1 chip is really fast. First Mac I've had where fans never need to get loud even when I'm running a bunch of processes at once. I ended up returning the 8GB RAM version and ordering the 16GB but that's only because I was in the habit of running several web browsers at once and each browser with 10+ tabs open. Under "normal" use MACOS is very good at managing the RAM efficiently so everything runs fast.

Good start for M1 desktops
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty impressive performance for a mini and at its price point. Do wish it had more ports and could drive more than 1 6K monitor.

Amazing value for price
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from Intel-based Mac mini the speed difference of M1 is astounding, this thing runs cold and silent, My only complaint is the lack of HDMI 2.1 support however this machine is not really meant for gaming. If you’re looking at this unit to use In a media setup don’t bother this unit can’t process surround sound. It’s a shame because the Intel Mac could. M1 is still in the early stages i’d be surprised to see how far they take the silicon 2 years from now, and if they fix the surround sound issue.

Well worth the upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new Mac Mini M1 chip speed is very impressive when compared to older intel versions. The small and powerful up-to-date version is well worth the price when compared to desktop. You will need a USB splitter because there are only two USB port if you use a wired USB keyboard & wired mouse, but that is not a deal breaker. I plan on replacing all older Mac mini's while they are still available.

Just get it don't overthink your purchase!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with the performance, size and overall quality of this little hot rod. I am old but have been using PC and sometimes Apple products since 1996 and there has been no improvement in a computer in the last 12 years this is a leap that paid off. The Apple base program load does just about everything I need. It has both word and spreadsheet programs straight out of the box that are comparable with your documents from Microsoft office pc . It is just a great buy and works with my older peripherals.

Good performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was debating on buying this or a M1 matchbook pro. After watching reviews I decided not the mini for two reasons. 1. I didn't necessarily need a laptop and 2. This was much cheaper. I bought this and two 27in months for a little bit over 1,000. If you don't need a laptop save yourself the money and buy the mini and a monitor or two. performance on this things is great I am able to edit 4k video and I have yet to hear the fan kick on.

Good system, but lack of hibernate is inconvenient
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good system overall, with good performance, good emissions (heat, noise), good connections, a reasonable price and a convenient form factor. The only major flaw is that, unlike the older Intel-based Mac Minis, it lacks hibernate support. As a result, it can't be disconnected from power without being shut down. One of the reasons I got a Mac Mini is because it's easy to transport between, e.g., home and work locations. For that purpose, I'd have to recommend an old Intel-based Mac Mini over this one. I assume the lack of hibernate is just a macOS issue, so I hope Apple will fix it. Windows devices with arm64 CPUs can hibernate just fine, as of course can the x64-based predecessors of this Mac Mini, so it shouldn't be too much work to get it implemented in macOS on arm64.

Tiny Monster
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an old 2014 imac 27 inch. The old imac was going out of service and I decided to buy the Mac mini m1 and use a 4k monitor instead of purchasing another iMac. Plus, my other reason is that I sometimes take my iMac with me when I travel and taking the 2014 iMac was such a hassle (yes, I know, how bout a macbook). This is tinier than a laptop and I was able to get it plugged into any hotel I was at. My model is the 8gb and the only thing I would do different is go for the 16gb instead. I thought it would save money and get the 8gb, but you can feel the speeds when working heavy loads.
