I have had this Mac mini for 2 and half years. My iMac 24 inch screen finally reached the end of its life (after 12 years) I bought this Mac mini. Very impressed. Does a great job and hardly takes up any desk space. It is perfect for my needs. And once again Best Buy was my place to go. I needed my computer for lots of Zoom meetings. Love this Mac mini. Thanks Best Buy.

Greatest value of the M1 series

This is the first Apple product that I’ve ever felt as “good value” in my 9 years long using several Apple products. Before buying this, I was wondering MacBook Air instead of a third MacBook Pro. I thought MBA M1 is almost as good as MBP M1 with a few hundreds less. However, a little wondering about the fanless MacBook. I used to have a Windows fanless laptop before, it was horrible. So, I’m a little wondering if it’s worth trying MacBook M1 series. Then, I saw Mac Mini. Yes, the first Apple device without screen I have ever bought from Apple. Didn’t set any high hopes, but it really impressed me. It’s NOT FANLESS, Mac Mini does have fan. But, the fan is very quiet and the device’s temperature is always cool. Also, for anyone has ever connect your MacBook with an external monitor before, you’ll know how hot your MacBook can be (boosting or fan running more frequent). I found out my 13” i7 MBP always perform worse whenever I connect to a monitor. Mac Mini is different, it performs much better compare to Intel MBP for 1-2 monitors at the same time. Reading about previous versions of Mac Mini, this line of Apple product will last very long. Compare to pay couple thousands dollars for MBP, I guess this is much cheaper both in value and performance.

This is the best decision I made for buying a computer! Superb performance! The M1 processor is incredible! I like the size and the fact that is completely soundless!! Obviously is not a computer for last gen gaming! I use it mostly for work, editing videos, web browsing, even play some classic games and the performance is simply amazing!!! Don’t miss a bit my old PC’s

This Mac Mini M1 is an Absolute Game-Changer!

This new Apple Silicon Mac Mini M1 is a GAME-CHANGER. Apple redefined how computers work by integrating the CPU, GPU, Neural engine and system memory all onto one low power, low heat board. As a result, you can’t upgrade the RAM, but you have a computer that is so different than anything that came before it that you have to look at this completely differently than any other computer. For example, this is an 8gb (memory) machine that runs circles around my 2017 i7 MacBook Pro 15” with 16gb of system memory. I edit and render video without the computer heating up-at all! I’ve never seen anything like it. My two previous MacBooks would both be very hot with the fan at full blast when I render video or do lots of photo editing. I’ve yet to hear the fan or feel any heat coming from this computer even with very graphics intensive tasks being executed. I’ve seen several reviews that find no performance difference between the 8 and 16gb models. I bought the 8gb model thinking that I’ll replace it with the 16gb if the 8gb comes up short, but I see no reason whatsoever to do that. Like I said, I use lots of video and photo editing which historically causes computers to move slowly and heat up. This mini carries out these very tough tasks without heating up or increased fan noise and does so quicker than my $2700 MacBook Pro, newish iMac. Based on the reviews I saw on YT, I’m not sure what would make the 16gb model any more useful than the 8gb. They had identical performance despite the big difference in their system memory. Like I said, this is a game-changer.

Apple has nailed it with the new M1 chip. It turns on very fast and works even snappier. I have two so far and waiting for the Mac mini Pro "hopefully" for music production. Easy to set up, use your own monitor, keyboard and mouse or trackpad. Everything works great and integrates together with all your Apple services. Only 2 down sides. First you need to use a VGA connection for a second monitor to work and bluetooth as with other Macs (including Intel based) can be glitchy mostly with the mouse. Otherwise absolute fantastic. Keep in mind this a consumer product and NOT a PRO Mac.

This is my first apple and I want to try something different than a laptop, I can say that is a really nice design, is fast and I can carry it to my office I just have to connect the Monitors. Good performance, I'm still learning how to use the commands that are quite different from Microsoft. I will recommend especially if you new more than one monitor.

Great product. Super convenient price wise. Really fast too. The M1 chip is really cool. Feel like you’d have to spend a lot more to build a computer this nice. Only thing is, it doesn’t come with a mouse and keyboard and you’ll want to get Bluetooth/wireless keyboard because a usb mouse and usb keyboard would leave you with no open USB ports.

For starters, I'm not a power user and probably won't use M1 to its full potential. I use the mini for college work, writing papers, online course work (including video chat), spreadsheets... If you are an average user, the mini will do what it's supposed to, if you are already an Apple user you probably won't be surprised by the mini. It just works. There is nothing special or life changing about it. Be warned, since this is the Apple M1 chip, not app applications are compatible. MS Office is and that will probably cover most people. Parallels is not compatible at the time I write this. I already own Parallels on my MacBook Pro but wanted to move it to the Mini, and I can't until Parallels updates the software to work on the M1. The only issue I had with the Mini is that it wouldn't recognize my bluetooth keyboard on the very first start up. To solve this, I simply had to shut the Mini down, wait 15 seconds, and then turn it back on. that solved the issue and the Mini was able to recognize the keyboard. Keyboard was a Logitech K780. My mouse, Logetich M535 worked with no problem. Also, be warned that you cannot use dual displays through both of the USB-C ports, only 1 can send video (confirmed by calling Apple). My setup uses two displays, one connected via USB-C and the other through the HDMI port. The displays work perfectly. I just wish I knew this before I bought the Mini because I had to hunt for a spare HDMI cable. I have been using the Mini for two weeks now and haven't had a single issue with it since the initial bluetooth issue. Would I get this again: yes even though its on the expensive side. you do get what you pay for though...

Little computer with a huge heart. Runs smoothly with great refresh rate. Super sleek makes and desk look good with its aluminum build . Nice storage at 256 gigs ( could be better at maybe 1 terabyte for the 700 price tag ). Your going to need a monitor / tv a keyboard and a mouse too

Everything you would expect and more from an Apple product. Lightning fast in every operation. The only small issue occurred with dual monitors with the reduction in ports. Otherwise, best of the best and a tiny footprint.

The Mac Mini is like my last one that I had for ten years a very reliable unit and works well hooked up to my television via HDMI. Initial purchase is higher than the other computers but I feel it is a great value over the years. The M1 chips seem to be as good as all the reviews have said them to be. I did need to buy a new Apple cordless keyboard, for some reason my old one couldn't pair up even though it was working well. I feel I will get 10 years out of this unit like my last one which basically was still working fine but was technically obsolete and no longer upgradable. It is all I want or need in a computer.

After 8 years with the last Mac mini it was time for an upgrade, and then the AppleM1 chip came along. Fast, inexpensive (relatively), and compact. Solid state drive, easy to hook up, and fits right where the old one did.

Before replacing, I had 2 mac minis in my office. One i5 32gb 2018 and another i7 32gb 2018. On the i7 I had an eGPU primarily for powering the three 2k monitors that I was running from it. I have to say considering the i5 machine was about 2x the cost and the i7 machine was about 3x the cost of this little 8gb m1 Mac Mini I am incredibly impressed with what it can do. I initially wanted to get the 16gb version that is BTO on the Apple store or B&H but because Best Buy has awesome service and had a bunch of the 8gb M1's in stock at my local store I took a chance and couldn't be happier. I use these for web design and coding. Definitely get a DisplayLink dongle though if you are looking to power more than 2 monitors.

Needs more power and hdd space to use for video editing. I found it lack when editing in FCPX. I’m sure it’s more than good enough for regular users. (Sending emails, web browsing, streaming video, word processing, and simple apps etc..) If you’re a video editor or gamer you may want to step up to the M1 Pro or max or m2 series.
