Best way to dip your toe in the "Apple Pond"
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a bad little box if all you intend to do is some light web surfing and if you just want to see what the "other side" is like. I have a 2014 MacMini prior and it had the latest OS on it but it literally took 20 minutes after you boot the thing before you could reasonably surf the web. This one is quite snappy because it is fairly new. I am disappointed in the fact that BestBuy had no 16GB version because the RAM in this thing is *NOT UPGRADABLE* 8 gigs is all that it will ever be.

MAC is the BEST!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have primarily worked mostly with Window PC's. I have used Macs over the years but first time having one in a long time. Originally wanted the Air or MacBook Pro but Mac mini made most sense for what I'm going to use it for (music, YouTube, basic everyday activities. Besides, I wanted a different keyboard and mouse ( I bought the Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 Mouse, both are absolutely GREAT) I've had this mini for almost a month and I have barely scratched the surface of what all it can do. There is a bit of a learning curve and have to forget almost everything about Windows. Gave it 4 stars because I have had some issues with the Samsung T5 external SSD. The software doesn't quite work right and you have to restart the computer in recovery mode to change the security and kernel extensions to allow changes. Well when I restart the computer in recovery mode, both my mouse and keyboard do not work. I reached out to Samsung customer service and they could not help me and told me to reach out to Apple. Currently, I am talking to Apple to try to figure this out. I think this is because of the M1 platform and every developer trying to get up to speed. Once or if I get this fixed, I'll change my rating. Other then that, all the reviews and hype you have probably heard are absolutely true. Its fast, quick, no lag, and quiet. I have yet to hear the fans come on whatsoever. People complain about the ports but there are so many hub and dock options, its not really a big deal for me. Wanted to wait for the rumored MacBook Pro coming later on this year but needed a new computer now. Don't regret my decision and never going back to PC unless its a gaming one but I'm sticking with macOS for the foreseeable future.

Absolutely amazing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s so clean. Everything operates so smooth and the boot time is mere seconds. I did have some concerns regarding memory swapping but there are ways that you can fidget with the software to help with that issue. But I love this machine and how simple and sleek it is. Everything is also so snappy and the machine is pretty silent.

Mac mini
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Mac mini does everything I need and does it fast. The ability to sync with my other Apple products is a great help. It's space-saving design is wonderful. I didn't grow up with computers and I'm not a tech pro, but this is an everyday tool that is easy to use.

Excellent BUT... it's not enough.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For most people, the Mac Mini M1 (base model) is a dream budget machine but for any professional, there are still so many things wrong with it. It has been out for months now but there are many programs that are still not natively supporting the M1 chip. Yes, this is to be expected considering this is a GEN 1 device, but still... Everyone is hailing it the king online, but they don't tell you the facts because they are so in love with everything Apple makes and does. This is good news for people who don't need much to be happy, but if you're paying for MORE horsepower only to find out that you can't use it to its full potential, then what's the point? You have to wait a year or more (depending on devs) just so that you can utilize the machine's capabilities? If I were apple, I would've waited on these M1 releases and made sure that their own apps are bug-free and that popular pro-grade third parties have full support before showing the world. Also, beware that the ports on ANY M1 will definitely not be as fast as your 2-3 year old Macbook. I don't know why this is but maybe their software is limiting the usb busses in exchange for power efficiency and better cooling... which is fine. I guess... I just don't know at this point if it was worth it. I did end up buying the upgraded model from Apple themselves, but yeah I am STILL ON THE FENCE BECAUSE OF HOW POOR THE EXECUTION WAS. It's an amazing little machine, but its just not there yet. :( So that being said, I don't actually know how I would rate this. I'm putting good here but from my experience, it's probably more like kinda good... Impressive but its just not there yet. I don't know what else to say. Maybe wait for M1 and above to have native support for full adobe suite, studio one 5, universal audio interfaces, etc. Professional content creators and musicians are basically twiddling their thumbs right now if they own an M1 mac currently.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is awesome. I was a bit skeptical of just getting the base model with 8gb of RAM but this thing hasn’t even flinched. The M1 architecture is game changing. Runs super quiet too! I haven’t even heard the fan kick on and it stays cool!

Best machine on the market for the money!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my granddaughter and it more than meets her needs. She likes to use her grandmother's iPhone to text friends and facetime with family. Plus she likes to play games like Fortnite and Roblox. She can use this for school as it will run Microsoft Office, for web browsing, gaming, face time, and messaging friends. If she ever wants to learn music or do video editing, it will do those things as well and the software is already included. If you've never owned a Mac before, or you're looking for a computer for a kid or grandkid, there are several reasons why you might want to choose a Mac. I'm going to just put a few bullet points here to explain why. 1. It's faster than any equivalently priced PC on the market right now. 2. macOS can do with 8 Gigs of RAM what Windows would need more than 16 Gigs to accomplish. 3. It works as an extension of an iPhone, so their attention isn't being pulled away from the PC every time they get a text message. 4. Included are free creativity apps like Garage Band, iMovie, and Photos. 5. There are also free productivity apps included (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote), so you won't need Microsoft office to edit spreadsheets, word documents, or presentations. 6. The macOS Security Model shows you when an application is encroaching on your privacy and it even shows you what the app is accessing. 7. Safari (Apple's web browser) has a built-in safety filter that shows you when a page attempted to track you and it blocks those tracking requests. 8. Installing apps is as simple as dragging them to the Applications folder, and uninstalling them is often as simple as dragging them to the trash. 9. The combination of hotkeys, gestures, and Apple's full-screen mode make productivity with a Mac second to none. If your kid wants a gaming computer, this isn't the computer for them. The Mac can game fairly well, but it isn't up to what a PC can do. However, I feel this is better, because it keeps the kids focused when they're at the computer and allows you to lock down the gaming consoles until after their school work is done. Anyway, I love these machines and my granddaughter does as well! It's a phenomenal product and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Best Desktop Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the perfect compliment to my MacBook Air M1. This little guy out performs most PC's. The price point is great and with the purchase of the innovelis hide-a-mount you don't even have to see it. You are definitely never going to hear it.

Mac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great speed for a tiny desktop. You would need more space if you tend to use it for everything. The size is really small and fit anywhere you put it. Hooks up to an older monitor. Graphics is great. You would want an external hard drive to put music and pictures on it.

Mac Mini M1
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had Bluetooth issues at first but seems to have resolved itself now. Otherwise love it, runs silent and is much faster than my I5 Macbook Pro. Much better for use with external monitor than laptop as device remains silent under practically all conditions including USB C.

Great update to the Mac line
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little desktop. The M1 Chip makes a big difference, and it’s significantly cheaper now! Best performance per watt system made, super fast!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The M1 chip is a game changer in the PC space. Seriously! This thing is packed with performance for its size, punching well above its weight class in performance per watt. I swapped this out from a full size gaming rig that I hardly gamed on and the difference is significant. The room stays cool since the larger computer is no longer running for basic tasks, it is silent while in use and web browsing is faster than anything I have ever used. It outperforms my i9-10900k in basic tasks and and things just load instantly! I can't recommend this enough and I can't wait to see what Apple has in store for future Apple Silicon devices!
