Great for lightweight school work. The M1 chip may require workarounds for some familiar applications. Vendors of the most popular applications have released or working on native versions. Rosetta 2 (installs automatically by MacOS when needed) allows running non-native applications, but it's not perfect. The MacBook Air may not have the horsepowers for some heavy developers or designers. In which case, the new M1 Pro and M1 Max machines might be a better choice. However, these laptops have the same architectural constraints of an M1-based MacBook Air.

Awesome laptop. I bought it to my wife. She loves it. the Macbook air is very light. The only thing that I dont like is the fact that there is no USB port.

I honestly love the MacBook it’s helps me with my school and everything. I think the screen size is also perfect! And it’s easy to get the hang of. The customer service was also great! I did and online purchase in store pick up and it was ready in less than 30 minutes, I got to the store they helped me right away and was in and out in less and than 5 minutes! Definitely recommend

Bought this for my son. He uses it for online class. This new air is a hit and a great upgrade from last one. No fan and never get hot. The m1 chip is so great. Fast!

Honestly, when this is on sale for $799, it is a steal. The primary things you lose when picking this over the M2 model are magsafe, larger screen, M2 processor. That being said, the base storage on the M1 is actually much faster in speed than the base M2 due to there being dual NAND storage chips on the M1. The M2 only has 1 NAND storage chip. Overall, i would crown this the best value in the MacBook lineup.

Love this MacBook!!! Battery life is good as always. Just make sure to get a laptop case for it. It does scratch easily - but the case is an easy fix.

Bought for my wife as a graduation gift. It is very smooth and very fast. The battery life on it is excellent- it can last a couple days without it being charged.

Well, I’ve had many MacBooks, my mother, who is 80 years old Patty I don’t even know what kind of laptop, but it was really really slow and it wasn’t old and it wasn’t loaded with crap, and I just got really tired of watching her wait for the little circle to stop spinning… So I surprised her with a MacBook and she is amazed at how fast you can get on the Internet or your email… One of the best purchases I made. She’s a happy mama.

Purchased it as a Christmas gift , did not regret it. My daughter loved , great for students. Uses mostly with photography and editing photos which come out great.

I don't think it's necessary to buy a Mac book pro at this point unless you edit very high quality photos or videos, and even then, M1 chip MacBook air does pretty much the same exact things a pro does. They display is pretty much the only difference. The battery is awesome!
