8 GB RAM is good, but 16 GB RAM is BETTER.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my old 2014 Macbook Pro began experiencing battery trouble. Needless to say, this new Macbook Pro with the M1 chip is excellent. I mainly use it for school, work, or social media. While the 8 GB RAM is okay for what I use it for, I would recommend getting the 16 GB RAM. I often get a notification from CleanMyMac saying that I am using up most of my RAM and need to free up some space. Which is a bit pesky, but other than that this new M1 chip is FAST and POWERFUL. Battery life is god-like i never have to worry about its life-span throughout multiple days. I can confidently go a day with heavy usage and still have battery life to spare. It's also very lightweight and sleek.

Best Mac i have owned so far
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Mac, upgraded from the 2016 baseline MacBook Pro with no Touch Bar and it was a great stepping stone, but this is so much better, they Touch Bar makes shortcuts super simple, and the fan hardly kicks on, if at all, because of how cool it runs with the M1, even with multiple programs and 50-60+ internet tabs open at once, never even skips a beat, and the best part is the battery, batteries are something that apple has been known for in a very good light in the past, but this blows the old machines away, when they say all day battery life in this, they mean it, my second marking with the M1 chip, may look at expanding the family with my parents

Born Again Apple User
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely LOVE this laptop! So easy to use, so compatible, so innovative and cutting edge for all programs, apps, productivity. Real lightweight, but tough and rugged at the same time. Very classy. I've been hesitant if not hateful towards Apple due to not compatible or user-friendly or not able to use common programs, but after I switch everything to Apple (phone, watch, tablet, now laptop) I don't know why I waited so long....so user-friendly, can work in any program. Love all the features of the touchbar, mousepad area, and really don't miss or bothered by the touchless screen. Definitely worth the money I spent if not more. Very Satisfied and in love!

10/10 My Fave
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this MacBook back in 2022 and it's by far my favorite apple product I own. Love the touch bar and the fact it's USB-C. A lot of people have mixed reviews with MacBooks and how newer ones don't give that "new" feel/vibe. I always just say the Macbook 13 Pro is the best expensive Apple Purchase I've done. (I mainly use my laptop for work purposes. Screen time: 8-15hrs PER WEEK.)

A well put together laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time I have ever brought a mac and ease of use is what I expected, but didn't get. However the quality of the screen, sound, keyboard and overall construction beat out what I expected. The battery life of this laptop also has blown me away. When reviews claim 20 hours I was expecting 5-10 hours at best and never see anywhere near the claimed useage time. Pointing this out because this above everything else left an impression on me. I'd say for travel this laptop can't be beaten. I really have grown to like it dispite some noticeble shortcomings. For those wanting a more extensive pros and cons list look below: Pros: 1) The screen quality is very good. I've spent more money on laptops with screens that frankly weren't good just passable. In this case the viewing angles and color accuracy were on point. 2) For such a small laptop I didn't expect much from the speakers, but they are better than any of the 15 inch windows laptops I've ever had. 3) The amazing battery life is 2nd to none. If you just use it to stream music for 3 hours or so it will only lose 10% of battery. In Realistic use it's more like every hour or two that you will lose %10, but that's still down right amazing. My phone can only do 5 hours of on screen time. This laptop can easily do 15. That's mind blowing to me. 4) The M1 chip is very good and I haven't run into issues with programs designed for x86 intel. I have run a few games like hearts of iron and civ 6 to be impressed with how well they run. I wouldn't recommend this as a gaming laptop, but for games that don't need high end gpu and depend on cpu this chip works great. Also great for having a ton of browser tabs open. 5) The smaller touches of build quality are good. It's nice to have a metal hinge that allows the laptop to open without holding the bottom down. 6) USB C PD charging is great. It works fine with 3rd party wall chargers and is good for taking on trips where it's easier to have one charger for your devices. 7) The touch bar is nice to use. It's a small pro, but I don't think it deserves the hate I've seen it get. 8) Runs very cool and quiet. You really have to put this laptop though it's paces to feel it get warm. It's amazing to me that I can run 30 tabs open and yet it doesn't care. If the fan does come on you are doing something quite intense. Cons 1) Mac OS is not easy to use. I've heard people say this forever and as an IT person I'm really shocked people think tons of security pop ups is easy. Updating the OS shouldn't need a password, but it does. Windows vista wasn't even this aggressive with default security. That's not even to say how I dislike the fact killing programs can't be done by clicking X on the window. I really wonder what the point of having a red X option on the window is if the minimize tab seems to do the same thing. I'm sure there is a reason, but again it's not that user friendly. Also note much more can run on windows and people should check what they desire to run before jumping onto a mac. It's not as limiting as I expected, but for this reason alone I couldn't use a mac as my main computer. 2) The price is quite high. If I didn't get a good open box deal I would have gotten the air instead. For $1300 retail it's short comings are bit hard to swallow. 3) Only two usb C ports. They should have included one USB A port and a display port or HDMI out, but they did not. For a "pro" laptop they should at least include such ports so you don't need a hub for basic use cases. 4) No touch screen. This is actually a big one, but I knew about this before buying. Apple really should have put one on here considering the m1 chip can run ios apps, but they didn't and that's kind of disappointing.

Apple nails it with this one
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This macbook is a game changer. I had recently just gotten back into education to complete my degree in graphic design when I decided to buy it. I was a little worried that I might have needed a “stronger” laptop for Adobe applications but this does the job exceptionally. I am very fond of this laptop, I upgraded from a macbook air (2013) to this and it is a game changer. Love love love it.

Great choice for college
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to upgrade from an old 2014 macbook air to this for college and i am so impressed. Ive had this macbook for close to 2 years now and ive had no issues whatsoever. Its so amazing for school and even outside of school things. I would also say that i was torn between the macbook air and the pro but paying a little bit more for a better chip (i believe i have an M1) truly shows a difference in everything

Creators Best Tool
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. It’s incredibly fast and responsive, as i’m on the go a recording artist. The battery life is on a different level compared to previous models. Plus, it’s so quiet, I often forget it’s even running. It’s a fantastic investment for anyone in need of a reliable, high-performance laptop if you’re a student or an artist like myself making music and short films.

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is amazing! I have not had a single issue with it at all. I have also not even heard the fan come on once and it never gets hot it's only been slightly warm. And the battery life is excellent! This laptop is absolutely worth every penny. No Windows computer can match this Mac. The M1 is amazing for the price!

Fantastic Powerful Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a MacBook Air from 2013 and finally needed to get a new one. Ended up getting the MacBook Pro and could not be happier. It’s so light yet sturdy. Works incredibly fast! I love it!! Highly recommend it! The M1 chip is super fast and strong. Battery life is also terrific. Easily lasts two days or 15 hours of use without a slow down. I am so impressed.

It's awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had this MacBook Pro for that long, maybe for like about 3 weeks? Maybe but I upgraded from my previous MacBook Pro 13 with Retina display which is the (2013 model) because it started to have some issues and it was out of warranty. I had the 2013 model for about 4 years and I love it. My previous model had only 156GB HDD and I am happy that 256GB SSD is the lowest storage space that they offer at the same price. I am sure that 256GB SSD will be enough but will see later down the road. Plus, I will be starting to store important documents and big files into EXT. HDD in order to save a lot of space for a longer usage. The only thing I don't like is having to get new accessories like USB C which I don't have in handy but oh well. With the new M1 chip and 61W USB C charger, the computer runs very smooth and charges even more faster than my previous MacBook Pro. I like the touch I.D feature. No more having to use your Apple Watch or typing in your password in order to use my MacBook Pro. Now you don't have to worry if anyone will know your password. Touch Bar, it takes time to get use to it. It's also a good feature to have but I noticed myself that I don't really use it. Charging, no more MagSafe BUT you can buy a 3rd party accessories if you which. I just had to buy a magnetic USB C to prevent any further damage from accidental tripping the cable. At first, the MacBook Pro will get warm when you use it for the first time BUT when I charge it the 2nd time (I waited for the battery to go below 50%). This time I make sure their's ventilation, I can't feel the MacBook getting warm anymore.

Another great macbook
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight and fast. Bestbuy buying experience was good. This is my 3rd macbook from Bestbuy in the past 5 years and their pricing is on point. Nothing much to review about the macbook itself, enough has been said ahead everywhere. Great screen, good battery life, super portable, fast processor. I run multiple apps some of which are demanding on the cpu and it has handled everything like a champ

The best MacBook available
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wavered between the M1 MacBook Pro and Air for many weeks before making the decision. After some heavy research and extensive evaluation of the differences between the two machines, I opted for the Pro. Yes, I paid a premium, but the additional cost was worth it for my computing needs. First and foremost, the new M1 processed is incredible. Coming from Intel equipped MacBook (albeit an aging model), the difference was night and day. Nothing compares to the performance of Apple software being run on Apple silicon. Every action is snappy and instantaneous, downloads and installations of software titles and apps are effortless. You would never know this was a first gen product in any manner. And the battery life is unreal. I can easily get several days of average use or a full day of heavy use out of this device without needing to recharge. The power management that Apple has been able to achieve is astounding. Overall quality is top notch, just as we all have come to expect of Apple. The keys are perfectly tactile and responsive, the screen is bright, crisp, and easy to look at. The hinge is solid, the aluminum gorgeous. Even the Touch Bar is a wonderful surprise addition that makes executing simple but common actions a breeze. I have absolutely zero gripes with the new M1 MacBook Pro and I expect to be able to rely on this performance powerhouse for another 8-10 years. An incredible value when you factor in the longevity that a MacBook can provide.
