The MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14-inch with 1TB storage is an absolute beast for both work and play. I'm a funny sort, I've always been interested in technology, from childhood with ham radio, through the first IBM PC and Apple Mac, to today. It's not that I'm a whiz at it, I just enjoy it. And, along the way, the perfect portable PC has been an elusive target. I remember stowing a 15 pound "portable pc" in the overhead bin of a flight several years ago. Not very portable lol. Some of us remember the early cellular phones as well, the experience was in the same category. Always there was a need for improvement, nothing was ever "just right". Until this. This laptop is perfect. It gets everything right, and there will never be a need to upgrade. Of course it will reach the end of its serviceable life at some point and need to be replaced. God willing there will be a current equivalent for it... or perhaps the serviceable life of this body or these fingers that I'm typing with will be less than this laptop - and I'll complete this birth without having to look for a "next laptop". This laptop is perfect in every way. There is nothing to change. The display? Perfect. 100% DCI-P3, amazing color reproduction, bright. The notch in the display? Well really it's perfect - generally the reviewers don't point out that actually the display is 14.2", not 14". The display is extended upwards an extra 0.2" to provide menu functions that always stay above the main part of the display. So the notch is never in the way of the content on the screen. It is, therefore, perfect. Now we have the perfect television sitting just above it as an extended display, which this laptop supports perfectly. No lag. The performance? Perfect. I don't do 4K video editing, and rarely photo or 1K video editing, and this is perfect for all of these. Overkill really, but there is no penalty for this. Power consumption? Perfect. I can go out with the laptop and be out all day, and it does not run out of power. It's no longer necessary to carry the charger. And the charger with the laptop? Well it was a bit larger than it needed to be, so I did replace it with a small 100W GAAN PD charger, which happens to be perfect. Amazing, really. Keyboard? Perfect. Trackpad? Perfect. Well, the keyboard deck where my palms rest does collect oils and such, I just ordered "palm rest protector skins" to help the deck stay like new. Backlighting on the keyboard? Perfect. Well, the edges of the laptop at the palm rests is sharp, and I feel it in my wrists when I type. If the chair is low and the laptop in a high position it will get uncomfortable. This chair adjusts though, so after bumping my butt up about six inches that problem was solved. So, yes, the entire laptop case is perfect. Internal storage? Perfect. 512GB was not quite enough, and now with cloud storage more and more reliable and integrated I cannot imagine ever needing more storage. Gone are the days of upgrading the SSD in laptops - and that's not possible here anyway! The size and weight? Perfect. I had gone back and forth between the 16 and 14, and had even gone back to the great 2019 16" Intel based laptop for a while - it's possible to get great versions of these for $600 or so these days, and it is an amazing laptop... but it's not perfect. And, this one is. In fact it's a bit frustrating how perfect this laptop is. In the past I could always check out the options and drool over how new laptops solved old problems. No longer. Yes, the M2 Pro processor is faster, and the M3 will be faster still! And yet, this laptop is Perfect. And so, it seems, my laptop shopping days have drawn to a close. And just yesterday I received a Lenovo Tab Extreme tablet, which has just gone back on sale here. It might not be completely perfect yet, but it's amazingly good. We'll see how it goes. Thank you Apple, you have ended the quest for the perfect laptop, by providing it.

Short review high-end desktop performance, multiple-day battery life, the most convenient laptop I have had. My next laptop will be a Mac again. As a new Mac user, I love this computer. The performance is crazy and up there with laptops I have had from other companies. I can render videos almost as fast as my high-end gaming PC. The battery life is also great for a college student. I can easily get through multiple days. "As long as I shut down the computer when not using it." If you leave it on all night in sleep mode it will last maybe two days. Mac OS has some frustrations but so does Windows. Also having an iPhone there is that convenience. If I get another laptop it will definitely be another Mac. Not to mention Touch ID is super convenient. Also, the display looks amazing and I love the pro-motion high refresh rate.

Apple silicon is the future and a definite performance upgrade over previous intel based macbook pros. 16GB of ram and 1TB is ample for the photo and video editing projects use this machine for. 14" travels light and the battery life is more than sufficient for travel days without plugging in.

Honestly I love this laptop , it makes my life so much easier. Everything is so easy to find and navigate. It’s also super lightweight and fast even with slow WiFi it has better speed than expected.

Love my MacBook Pro M1! Even after almost 3 years! It runs like the first day I bought, super fast boot up, strong and doesn't blink at anything I throw at it. It's a true powerhouse. I'm glad I bought the 14". Plenty of screen space, and I can always add larger monitors as needed. The 1 TB was a great choice. After all these years, I still have way more than half of the drive space available for use. It hooks up to all my Bluetooth devices instantly and effortlessly, and the Apple ecosystem is hands down the most user-friendly, seamless integration of devices I've ever experienced. Strongly recommend!

I'm not a power user but I have owned Apple laptops since Powerbook days. I have always appreciated Apple products for their thoughtful and useful designs. When my 2015 MBP needed to be upgraded I bought a 2018 one port, (USB-C) Touch Bar, butterfly key MBP. While it was powerful and sleek I never cared for the Touch Bar, hated carrying a "dongle" to connect to it, and had to have the keyboard replaced twice. When the M1 came out last year that was a blessing but not a complete turn around. Yes, the crappy keyboard was fixed and it was very powerful, but it kept the USB-C only ports and still had that dang Touch Bar. Now, just a year later Apple finally listened and has produced the best laptop experience I have ever had. The screen is AMAZING. Great keyboard. NO Touch Bar! And useful ports so I can leave my "dongle" at home. Yes, benchmarks show it is much more powerful and capable but, quite honestly, the M1 13" was Powerful enough for most of the things we do on a laptop. Though I do appreciate knowing this laptop will be relevant for many years to come. Battery life has been excellent - the M1 13" is a little better. But you're still getting twice the battery life of the last Intel generation laptops. The cost is steep, If you already own an M1 MBP and do not need the ports, improved screen and increased horse power stick with your M1. If you can afford the cost you will be rewarded with smooth classy lines in a package that looks, feels, and operates like a premium laptop. This is by far the best laptop Apple has ever produced.

Got this for school and it works wonderfully. Ive had for about 3 years and it still is holding up well. Likes: Perfect size; screen isn't too big or too small, and it's not too heavy A lot of space... I've used this for school for the past three years and I still have a little more than 2 thirds of storage left Durable: I've dropped it a few times and it looks pretty good still... no dents or scratches Apple Product: I already have apple products so easy to connect with my other devices. More ports than the air good sound and visuals good battery life Dislikes: While I like that there are more ports than the air, it doesn't have USB-A port, which can sometimes be inconvenient, so I have to buy an adapter... kinda gets dirty easily: the keys on the keyboard are nice, but any little bit of oil on your fingers will rub off onto them and its a bit annoying having to clean it over and over. The screen also will pick up any fingerprint even though I feel like I don't really touch the screen...

The M1 chip is super fast, as I have multiple adobe programs open at once, and they all perform at peak level with no lag. The 4K monitor has the best picture for a laptop that I've seen. The battery charges very quickly, and lasts for hours.

Apple corrected their shortcomings in the previous MacBook Pro design. Performance, screen size (first gen 14” pismo owner), ports and MagSafe. Who wants to carry around a bunch of half functioning dongles? Nice case thickness and weight. Still have to be careful with the screen side. The screen image is amazing. Happy MacBook Pro user again.

Laptop works faster than my windows 11 laptop. I’m a windows user so it took me a couple of days to get used to the Apple OS. I’ve been using it for several months now and decided to wait to write a review to see if I really like it. Battery life is around 17hours with 10tabs open and with word open. I bought and installed windows OS for this laptop and can use it with the parallels app without issues. My regret is that I should have bought a 16” laptop and waited for the m3 to come out because the current price of the 14” M3 is almost the same as the price of this 14” M1 laptop when I bought it several months ago.

Amazing laptop! Honestly I couldn’t imagine using a PC anymore. The screen size is perfect, insanely fast and efficient. The battery life gets me through the day. I have nothing but great things to say
