This laptop is a beast outperforms any windows laptop out there in every fashion. I’ve been a windows user for a long time not anymore unless for work. Pros: 1. Battery Life is no joke 2. Speed of M1 Pro chip Apple is light years ahead of intel and others 3. ProMotion screen is very vivid 4. Speakers sound like a home theater surround sound 5. Webcam Cons: 1. Heavy to carry around If you’re on the fence about purchasing this laptop purchase it you won’t regret it. This will last 10+ years

It has been a long time since I've had a quality laptop. I used a couple cheap Chromebooks for personal use over the years since retiring my college laptop. I won't bother with an in depth review since I am not a power user, but what I will say is if you don't mind splurging a bit, this laptop is perfect for couch surfing and other household use. I held off on buying a new Macbook until the 14" came out due to the myriad issues previous generations have had, but this update fixed just about all of the issues I was concerned about. Yes, it is overpowered and overpriced for my use case, but it is a pleasure to use every time I turn it on, and I really have no complaints. I don't find the battery life to be quite as stellar as many users seem to rave about, but then again I'm coming from an underpowered Chromebook that could seemingly last indefinitely on a charge. The MacBook has plenty of battery to get through a day, though. The only thing that still gives me pause is Apple's stance on repair. Shortly after purchasing this laptop for myself, a family member's 2019 16" Macbook Pro had the well-known screen cable problem, and Apple wanted $600 to fix it.

Best laptop I’ve ever owned. Been an Apple phone guy for a while but always owned PC’s because of the Apple price tags. I do not regret spending the money after spending a few months with the laptop. If you don’t plan to take it on the go a lot then I even recommend spending even more to get the larger one. If you do travel a good bit then go with the smaller, very portable but not as small as you might think. I’ve had no issues with the smaller screen size.
