Noticeably powerful machine with "ARM" M1 Pro chip

You've seen the reviews. It's a powerful & snappy computer with beautiful screen and best-in-class speakers! Additional Pros: - It charges really fast via the 140W charger. - ProMotion 120Hz display Cons: - You will feel the weight! It's a heavy machine compared to the super snappy 2020 M1 MacBook Air. - Some of your Windows apps won't work on this machine even running "Windows 11 ARM" through Parallels. And there is "NO" Boot Camp Assistant. For day-to-day use, I can't tell the performance difference between this machine and the base 2020 M1 MacBook Air. But I do like the bigger and faster mini-LED display, and, the audio system in this mac.

A bit on the heavier side, but I love it. I heard lot of negative comments on the Apple M2 pro chip and that's why I went with M1. So far, I think I made the right choice. Long battery life, and an awesome display :-) . The sound is also good. Guyz, go for it.

I wanted a MacBook that has a bigger display so ai can prep my ppts on there from home. This machine is AMAZING-hands down. The battery life is incredible and the charger that comes with it is SUPER FAST- so much so that my friend got impressed and bought a MacBook just for the charger! The display is beyond words and the sound quality and effects are out of this world. Fast, reliable and easy- and feels like buttery smooth with zero glitches or lags. An all round performance- as Apple always delivers . Please. Buy it.

What I love about this the most is that it doesn't get hot nor even warm when I just casually use it for hours and the battery life is unbelievable long. During the the 3 hours of just using word doc and listening to iTunes, the fan never kicked up. and It stayed cool. compare to my previous 16 in with intel processor this one much better. my intel 16 inch Macbook pro keep on getting hot and the fan is loud even just casually using it for a hour.

I love the quality of the HDR display. It can get extremely bright and compeltely black all in one frame. It can do this while sipping battery power. Color gamut and accuracy is better than anything I’ve ever owned. Plenty of power and IO. Extremely solid build quality. Pulling it out of my bag is a daily pleasure. Very fast charging with Magsafe 3. Love Touch ID and Apple Watch unlock, as well as Apple Wallet compatibility. All in all a huge upgrade from my 10 year old 15” MacBook Pro Retina Display, which was still working alright once i replaced the battery after 8 years. Now I handed it down to continue to get use. One thing it lacks, for the price and intended buying group, is an included microfiber cloth to keep the display clear of smudges.

It's a great laptop that has an amazing screen and speakers and keyboard. The only downside is how heavy it is but other than that it is a good laptop if you don't mind the weight.

Fasted MacBook out there. Battery lasts 2+ days for work. Beautifully accurate screen. HDMI 2.1 port that displays 4k120hz on my LG C2 OLED without issue. TB4 ports for docking at home. Just a portable powerhouse.

I was on the fence here

When these launched, I was debating on if I should stick with my M1 MBP or jump to the larger screen. I watched countless hours of reviews on both the 14” and the 16”, as well as comparisons between these and the 13”; the reviews were all pretty much the same and said the same things, but nothing in them convinced me to buy it. A few days ago I got to see the 14” on display at Best Buy and the screen was beautiful, but it wasn’t much larger than the screen I already had, so I walked away and continued to research them. A few days past and after seeing the 16 Gig RAM and 32 Gig RAM models were operating about the same, I decided to give the base model 16” a try. So, I placed the order and procrastinated picking it up for more than a day, but I finally went to grab it. When I got the machine home, cracked open the box and pulled it out, I realized the it was physically an intimidating size for a laptop, but that wasn’t a huge issue, so I pushed forward. Upon opening the laptop and hearing the chime, I peeled away the film on the screen and this is when it hit me. The screen was massive and beautiful! I own an LG C1 OLED and a 5th Gen iPad Pro 12.9”, and those are beautiful images, but this is the first to truly blow me away! From this point on I was hooked on the machine,t he size and weight concerns to a backseat compared to the privilege of using the screen. As far as the performance goes, it is about what you would expect from it as everyone and their brother have already reviewed this thing. It works and it works well overall. So, if you’re somebody that is on the fence and you don’t have the money, then don’t even go see this thing as it will be very hard to resist at that point. If you have the money and you’re on the fence, go see the screen and I’m sure you’re going to agree, it is very impressive. If this is what the pro XDR is like, I completely understand why they charge so much, but that isn’t something I can afford, so I at least get a taste with this MacBook Pro.

I got this computer for my senior year of college because my old one couldn’t handle the workload. This thing is incredible! I was running compilers, Autocad, Final Cut Pro, LTSpice, browsers, iMessage, Notability, WhatsApp, Outlook and Excel all at once with very little slowdown. The best part is the battery life. I frequently outlasted many of my peers with Windows and Linux machines while using intensive programs. Obviously, don’t expect 20 hours if running it like I did, I was feeding around 10 hours, which is still impressive. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful big screen and does not get hot. Upgraded from 13.3 inch screen to this beauty. This had 3 cycles on it when purchased from outlet store. Once the browser just crashed and restarted but otherwise so far didn’t have problems. Will use it more frequently. Battery life is Amazing I’ve never seen before in a Mac

Like most Apple products, you are getting the best of quality here, from the unboxing experience to the user. The macbook is built exceptionally well, light weight, very sturdy, no imperfections. Compared to other Macs, the performance is unmatched. Imagine the speed of iPhone or iPad, but with desktop applications. The screen can be compared to OLED screens, perfect inky blacks, infinite contrast ratio with insane brightness. The screen also comes paired with Apple’s Pro motion Tech (120hz) Speakers are out of this world and defy laws of sound. Crisp and clear while also covering great quality of mid and low end. And they are LOUD. Keyboard goes back to apples older keyboard design, plenty of depth and very reliant. Trackpad is HUGE, surprisingly i dont bump it when i type. I/O is great, magsafe returns with convenient charging, USBC for expandability, SDXC for photographers and HDMI for extension of display. MacOS will be hit or miss for some, It really comes down to compatibility and preference. Battery can easily outperform other competitors. When macbook is on standby, it survived all week without charge. Using the Mac, it doesn’t get hot unless under extreme load, paired with being light weight and sturdy, it’s perfect.

This laptop is worth all the hype and dare I say, worth the cost. I use Windows and Mac systems, preferring Mac for my personal use. The eco system with iCloud and integration across iPhone and iPad adds value to me. So, looking for a new laptop to replace my 2015 MacBook Pro. Yes, the cost is a lot at face value but, when you compare to higher end Windows laptops, it starts to become more realistic. Opening the box of my new MBP16 m1 was pleasing. The quality is there from the unboxing through use. The laptop seems very well built, and stylish. If that does not matter to you, the performance will. It very fast. I'll not get into benchmarks here, lots of other reviews might. In general use, the machine is clearly fast and excels more when used with power hungry apps. Okay, it tool and we should buy tools that we need for the job at hand. I am not a heavy content editor and its probably more than I need but, I have a smile on my face every time I use it. If you're on the fence about purchasing, you will not regret it. I almost purchased an iPad pro 12.9". Great iPad but by the time I added a keyboard and pencil I was over $1600. So, this made the Macbook pro more appealing to me from a cost perspective. The display is the best I have ever seen, including many of the external pro-screens. Having the 16" provides great viewing and I don't need to add a second display for most tasks. The keyboard is fantastic, responsive and reduces my errors and typos. The return of the magsafe power is a very good call by apple. In my day job, I support Windows systems with USB-C connected power. We are getting a 35% failure of motherboards because of movement and pressure on the UCB-C power connector to the laptop. That cannot happen with the MBP 16. Battery life, wow - Had it on for 4 hours, just browsing and watching videos and the batter went to 98%. The case is a piece of art and constructed better than any high-end Windows system that I have seen. Finally, the Black Mac stickers - WOW.

I've been a PC guy all my life. That has been plenty sufficient for me. Maybe it is because I am not fully integrated into the Apple ecosystem that I don't see what the hype is all about but so far it has been an underwhelming experience for me. It's not any faster for what I use it for. Coming from PCs and Windows exclusively, the organization of things is completely confusing. It is heavy. Like, really heavy. For some reason, because Apple is supposed to be the leader in this space, I expected this thing to be feather-lite with a blow me away experience. It is just basic in my opinion. The screen is nice. You can tell they put a lot of engineering into that. Just woyld be nice for a $1500+ device that it be touchscreen. This is likely to be only Apple product I ever buy. Contemplating selling it and using those proceeds to buy something that makes sense to me, has a touch screen and is not so heavy.

Its been one year since I purchased this MacBook Pro and its a great Mac, its super fast and responsive, I love the Fingerprint log in, the screen is large and bright and easy on the eyes. My only criticism on this Mac is it's missing the USB Port, it only has USB-C Ports, also it takes a long time to charge the internal battery but it does last all day! Overall Its a great Laptop

Basically "as advertised". Pros: the best screen on any laptop, unbelievable sound, super fast, lots of ports, giant trackpad, good keyboard. Some small cons include: pricey (you get what you pay for) and a bit heavy. Unless you can't deal with the weight, don't bother with the 14". Slightly less processing power (very slight), smaller screen and it doesn't include the crazy fast 140W charger.
