    Looks A Bit Dated

Well, apart from seeing Mel Gibson so young, the quality fo the digital transfer leaves something to be desired. On a modern flat screen with all the frills, this looks dated and worn - and shouldn't if the original film was preserved properly. Story will always be good and this film really began all this post-apocalyptic jismo that is every other movie these days. Glad it was released. Still worth the minimal investment, just to have.

2 Men Enter 1 Man Leaves!

This movie is epic, although it lacks the automotive/high speed aspect of the Original Mad Max and the Sequel The Road Warrior. I would say that Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome perhaps has the most heart of all of the previous films. You see a man who wants to turn the cheek and only care about his own survival, but no matter how hard he tries. Max always end up trying to do the right thing. It shows the true heart of the character and how he will always put others before his own needs. This film is a must watch for fans of the series, but a must own for fans of 1980's films.

I initially hated this Hollywood take on the classic post apocalyptic Mad Max series. It seemed too contrived and a cash in on Tina Turner's 80's comeback. Looking back on it I have to admit it is pretty darn entertaining and fits in the oeuvre. No one is winning any acting accolades, but this is good fun entertainment.

No trouble Blu ray disc of a classic

First off, The blu ray worked without incident as it should. The picture is clear, which impressed me because Mad Max is an old movie. I thought the remastering looked great. Second, I bought the movie because I like what I saw of the movie on TV and wanted to really watch it. I was not disappointed. I do not care about extras and do not know if the disc even has them. Third, I'll leave movie reviewing to the many sources worldwide.

Awesome Action Adventure Drama Film! About 15 years after the events of Mad Max 2, nuclear war has finally destroyed what little was left of civilization. Grizzled and older, former cop Max (Mel Gibson) roams the Australian desert in a camel-drawn vehicle -- until father-and-son thieves Jebediah Sr. (Bruce Spence) and Jr. (Adam Cockburn) use their jury-rigged airplane to steal his possessions and means of transportation. Max soon winds up in Bartertown

Pretty basic release but the movie is good in a retro way. For an Australian franchise, the middle of the movie caters a bit too much to 80s Hollywood tropes, but otherwise it's just as much a part of a seriously iconic series.

Beyond Thunderdome may be the weakest of the Mad Max trilogy, but still has some fun moments. The movie's fist half is actually really good, and then come the children. After the children, the movie kind of meanders without much direction, before the movie goes back to its roots and ends with a car chase scene. A good 80's flashback flick with Mel Gibson and Tina Turner.

The whole Rockatansky series is spectacular. I'm going into the new one with a full head of steam mainly because of these classics. They're still relevant and influential to this day...look no further than the new Mortal Kombat X characters Ferra and Torr. 100% influenced by Master Blaster. These gems are a must watch absolutely.

This is a classic movie. Don’t know if it’s better than the “Road Warrior”, but it’s pretty close. The Thunderdome is epic! Tina Turner does a pretty good job acting in it as well. Back when Mel Gibson was king!

I like Tom Hardy but Mel Gibson is even better - and he's the original Max. This is the best of the four films. The middle section with the choir singing kids is kind of annoying but all the stuff in BarterTown at the beginning and the end of this movie is AMAZING!!! Tina Turner is so awesome as the villain. This was the height of the Mad Max world. I love this movie.

The apocalyptic world has never been more fun! I can remember watching this classic Mad Max movie when I was young. Mel Gibson is great as Max and Tina Turner nailed it as Aunty. Blu-ray doesn't have a bunch of special features, but the movie looks great after Blu-ray conversion. Would be willing to pay more for better special features, but this price was great for what you get.

    Two Directors, two movies?

Mad Max is a classic movie hero. Max Max 2: The Road Warrior is one of greatest post apocolyptic movies ever and has great performances from all involved and consistent story that is always moving forward but Beyond Thunderdome feels like two films. The first is an action movies with a classic struggle in the Thunderdome, "Two men enter, one man leaves." Then Max becomes a babysitter for a group of naive children. At this point the film takes a drastic and turn. The final obligatory vehicle chase sequence is under whelming and the ending is far from satisfying. The redeaming quality in this movie is the performances from Mel Gibson and others. The story is weak. I have seen the newest Mad Max, Fury Road. It is a return to fantastic action film. The only thing missing is Mel Gibson but Tom Hardy is also great as the iconic Max Rockatansky.

Mel Gibson, Australia's favorite son stars in the sequel to Mad Max and Road Warrior. Beyond Thunderdome retains all the mood and atmosphere of the original two films while adding some campy humor and over the top action scenes. If you are fan of the franchise it's not to be missed.
