Given that it is late in the PS4 generation there now to settle improvements from year to year on man. This year the graphics are slightly more refined but tickly in the player models but nothing dramatically different from madden 19. Where I’ve noticed some of the biggest differences is in the running game. Backs are much more responsive and run more fluid than in previous versions. Also the pass rush has been turned up. You can no longer sit in the pocket waiting for receivers to get open. Linebackers and defensive lineman will move in and you need to do quick reads to get rid of the ball. I also think that the addition of the Superstar X-Factor Is a great addition and adds an element of fun as you try to get your superstars abilities activated.

This game got me hooked. Excellent game play and graphics. Multiple modes to play on, full game, key moments, offense only etc. Absolutely loved this and will surely buy the 21 version.

Great graphics and gameplay, only complaint would be having to update rosters often and ratings not being updated very frequently. Tyreek Hill is overpowered by the way.

Graphics are amazing, LOVE the 4K quality (4K HDMI cable highly recommended), and fun game to play! You really don't need the superstar edition so save your money. The base game is all you need!

    X-Factors Change Everything.

Probably the most solid and reliable madden yet. Much more on top of tuning/patching then previous years. And the addition of X-Factors makes a huge difference. You have to actually change your gameplay to be aware of playmakers on the otherside. Its not overwhelming, but just effective enough where if you ignore that said player, they can cost you the game. Its both challenging and refreshing to actually be scared of certain players on the other team. When you're down with 2 minutes left against Tom Brady, and his X-Factor turns on, you're legitimately worried about losing the game, and there's a good chance you will. Maddens past you could just keep repeating the same defensive plays or schemes and not worry about it. Or when Von Miller starts to get on a roll, and you're forced to double team him...which opens up blitzing lanes for other players. The game actually becomes the chess match it's been trying to replicate for 2 decades now.

I have this game on Xbox and can’t get enough of it. I have a PS4 which Sony doesn’t get ea access (or I believe) and wanted this. I got it for a decent price!

I exchanged a Nintendo Switch game to get a Madden NFL 20 video game, and considering they improved some mechanics of the video game, it is well worth the price for it.

    New Year New Madden

Every year I buy the most recent Madden game for my (now) 14 year old son. This time it was a Christmas gift. He loves playing for hours...even ones that are several years old. As a mother who doesn’t play video games, I would start with one like this. Plays are very realistic, not many glitches and the background as well as direct sounds become more authentic every year. Choice of music is always fun to change around and the creators do a good job of updating to modern beats that get players amped up. Great promo price when I purchased and it arrived before Christmas Eve.

The annual purchase of Madden is a ritual and, while I've been disappointed with the series with past titles, this one impresses. Out of the box, this game is offense-minded like the real-life NFL. But tinker with the sliders and play on All-Madden and you've got a struggle of offense vs. defense. What I do miss is the ability to hire all the assistant coaches in Franchise mode. I miss inking an offensive, defensive and special teams coordinators who could boost my roster's ratings.

Best Madden in a long time

As a person who has played Madden for the last 20 years, this has to be one of the best Maddens. Now the superstars play like superstars. Good luck containing Patrick Mahomes or beating Richard Sherman in coverage. The updates EA gave midseason has added some wrinkles too. Super offensive linemen will help you get the ball off or spring free and help keep elite pass rushers off. Last year, Madden felt slow and somewhat clunky running was a disaster. Not this year. The RPM 2.0 makes this feel like a fluid control. Big thumbs up from this fanatic.

To quickly summarize, it's hard to recommend Madden 20 for the full $60 price tag. Although the game features more polished graphics, smoother gameplay and a new mode, the game lacks in other areas. Take for instance the new, Face of the Franchise mode. It begins entertaining and it seems like you make impactful choices but after a short period, the mode turns into regular Franchise mode but you can only control your player. I leveled up very fast too, getting to 90 overall by week 6. Little adjustments have been made for Franchise mode which is very disappointing. The XFactor addition is something that will probably be non-existent 3 years from now. Much like the "create a fan" feature or the ridiculous aiming cone from past Madden's. The newest annoyance I didn't expect; changing how hurry up works on offense. To speed up gameplay, an immediate 9-12 seconds are deducted from the game clock rather than ticking away and watching your players run to the line. With 11 seconds left, I nearly lost my game because I couldn't see how long it would take my players to form. It immediately took 10 seconds from the game clock and left me with only a second to get my timeout in. I'll never understand where they thought fans would want this feature. Also, a minor problem but the soundtrack for '20 is also stale and sounds the same. Mostly rap. Unfortunately, Madden 20 has made me strongly consider returning it and getting '16 or '17.
