My copied arrived 1 day early. The packaging of the collector's edition is superb. The game and extras are housed in a solid hard cardboard (wood?) case that feels really sturdy. The art book is colorful and not just filled with your standard pencil sketches like most video game art books I've seen. The coasters have great detail and I might actually use them a few times (while playing the game). The Vinyl is of great quality in terms of packaging and sound quality. They didn't cheap out on the pressing that's for sure. The dog tags could make great cosplay accessories if desired. However, if you have no desire for Vinyl there's not much here in terms of extras to justify the $60 price increase over the Deluxe Edition. I feel the Vinyl could easily count towards $30, artbook $15, and the other items the remaining $15. The game itself is pretty good so far. I've played about 5 hours and it seems pretty solid. There was a day 1 patch. The game version was 1.08 but the update brought it to 1.2. I have no idea how the game ran before that since the update downloaded before the game fully installed. The open world feels lived in and the little touches here and there to realism are great. Drive too fast or run a red light near a cop and they pursue. Need to dispose of a body drop him in the water and an alligator finishes the job. Drive with the Sun in your eyes and the screen gets an orange/yellow hue that makes it hard to see. My one negative outright is lack of a save game option. The game relies on auto saves and you will have no clue as to when or where your last save is before quitting the game. There doesn't seem to be any place marked go here to save, use the bed, use the phone, use the typewriter and save your game. There isn't any in-game option to copy saves or start a new game. If they wanted to keep you from save-scumming I can understand but at least have options to start a new separate game. Just be sure to backup your saves manually every so often in case of a game breaking bug. For that reason I'll have to knock off a star. Will update as I play.

I overall think this is a great game with a great story as well as open world gameplay. The sound track will bring you back to that old school feeling as well as with the game design from locations to vehicles to the characters themselves. I really did enjoy playing this game and definitely recommend it especially with the price being so low.

The game is pretty good, but the collector's edition is just awesome, the vinyl's are amazing and it's overall a great quality collectors edition.

Mafia 2 was one of my favourite games back on the ps3. A lot of people expected another GTA clone but Mafia 2 was more of a story driven shooter than sandbox game. Mafia 3 has tried to be more like GTA by offering more of a sandbox experience. Mafia 3's deep south setting feels authentic and rich but still lacks the life that is present in GTA V. The sandbox environment has also come at the price of the story which now feels like more of an after thought. Don't get me wrong it's still a great game and it's very addictive taking control of the districts but it's lost the strong identity Mafia 2 had.

A must have collector's editon for fans of the mafia games

The game is great, the Mafia series overall is a blast. This collector's edition however amazed me. Everything right down to the packaging is done with care and even looks great, so anyone into collecting even if you aren't that into what comes inside the box (vinyls, posters, etc.) will enjoy this.

About 25 mins in the game love it !!!! Graphics are awesome, the only thing I hate about this game is the driving mechanics... the distance graphics flicker and look all messed up and deformed ... anyway love the missions and story tho .

This set is filled with goodies. It's not filled with a bunch of junk like some collectors edition, and the overall game is good so it's worth it. For $55 , this set is a total steal.. Comes complete with the game more little items. The focus point on the set was the REAL vinyl records that are included... Great new edition to the " collectors sets " out there.

This collectors edition will become more valued as time goes on.

The review is about the entire set, not the game* The set is awesome. Real records and coasters with cool extras. I got it on clearance price so that was a bonus. Can't wait to try the actual game!

Man What A Collection!!!! It Has It All!! Artbook, Deluxe Edition Of The Game, Two Awesome Classics On Vinyl. (Which Is Rare And Awesome Back In The Day) Etc.. It Includes The Season Pass Which Makes This Worthwhile.

If your looking for a game that will keep you going for a while this is it! There is so much to do in the game and depending on your actions there will be different endings to the game so it promotes replay as well.

The collectors edition was on sale from $149.99 to $39.99. It comes with actual vinyl records. This was a good deal.
