The sad thing about Mafia 3 is that it could have been very spectacular game on the same level as other great open world games such as Witcher 3 or the GTA franchise, but it falls short way too many times by factors that should have been fixed or patched. The story in Mafia 3 is absolutely excellent with stellar voice acting and interesting characters. The problem begins and ends with the sloppy in-game mechanics. The driving mechanics are the worst of any game I have played to date. The cover/shoot mechanics are equally as unresponsive and clunky and I don't understand why this hasn't been adjusted by the development team. The AI at times is ridiculously inconsistent. I bought the deluxe version of this game on a deep sale and I'm very thankful that I did, because I would be furious with myself had I paid full price for Mafia 3. Even with a deep discount, I can't recommend this game.

In my opinion I like it better than Gta 5 because it's not so overhyped and the era it's set in seems more realistic and the take downs with the knife are brutal

I have been looking forward to this game since it was released. My first impressions were this was a GREAT GAME! I like the gameplay (compared to GTA) And the story is gripping. However, as i continued on, 2 things really bothered me. 1. I felt it was hard to understand what I was actually doing? Where to go and when to do it, and was I supposed to go in a certain order or what? 2. Every mission seems to pretty much be the same. Go here, kill these guys/damage this guy, etc. etc. I felt like this was all I was doing. These 2 things, make me rate this game as "good". Fun to play and I enjoy the story, but missions seem boring and too repetitive to rate as excellent.

Mafia 3 is somewhat difficult to review. At launch, it's a buggy and unpolished game that definitely needed to be pushed back a couple of weeks, if not even a few months. But if you look past the bugs and lack of polish, you'll find a game worth playing. Although the objectives themselves are repetitive, the context in which you do them in and the locations where they are done are all very well varied and fun to do. Mafia 3 also has one of the best story lines so far this generation. If you can look past the bugs and repetitive nature of this game, you'll find an amazing story filled with emotion.

I was really looking forward to this game and it did not disappoint. The story is excellent and compelling. I would put it up there with Sleeping Dogs and Grand Theft in that respect. The graphics are excellent but not out of this world. I would like to see it on PC to compare the PS4 and the PC versions. The gameplay and mechanics are outstanding. I am 58 and I really enjoy the 60's music when driving. I have played many hours thus far and so far, I have no complaints that I can think of. I enjoy the game and give it 5 stars.

The graphics are breath taking, story is amazing, character development is on point...feels like a video game version of American Gangster with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. Game narrates in the present as you play events in the past. Takes place in the 1960s and they kept the game "authentic" as possible meaning you will hear racial slurs and discrimination, but don't let it get to you...just a heads up. Game is one of the best I've played in a long while

Mafia 3 is set smack dab in the midst of the civil rights movement in a fake representation of New Orleans. As you can guess, there are some racist conversations, depictions, and so on. That aside, the game is essentially an open world GTA clone that is absolutely beautiful. The story line is pretty good and the acting pulls you along as well.

The graphic in this game is awesome. I look forward to playing it.

Mafia III is a great game with an amazing story and characters. It is set in New Bordeaux, a fictional version of New Orleans and the city design is spot on. The facial animations in cut scenes are incredible and haven't been this good since L.A. Noire. Though some of the side missions are a bit repetitive the main missions are quite action packed and fun. The subject of this game could be a bit uncomfortable for some. It is set in the 60s where racial tension was very high. Lincoln Clay is mixed raced and there are some derogatory names thrown his way. The soundtrack and dialogue in this game are superb, though some of the sound design for cars and guns were a little lacking. Overall Mafia III is a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys an enthralling story despite a some what repetitive gameplay look.

Great Story and soundtrack. The gameplay is really fun and hectic. Can be a little repetitive but most open world third person shooter games are. I recommend it to anyone who likes GTA, Saints Row, or the previous Mafia games.

It a fun game. Could of been better, but im not complaing.. The story telling in this game is spot on. A little repetitious but not bad. They are currently releasing free updates to improve the gameplay.

Oh this has got to be up there as one of the best turn-outs of 2016. Mafia III really came through on gameplay, graphics, storyline, and replay value. Really good game. Hope it wins many titles to come.

This game is great. The Mafia franchise has good story lines and smooth fun game play. I've played for a while and still haven't put a dent in the map. Lots of stuff going on and a 60's soundtrack.

Having played mafia 2 I wa every excited about mafia 3 and it does not disappoint. The story is amazing so far and the action is intense. Every PS4 owner needs to get this game!

Great game yes but the problem is that it contains bugs and glitches, nothing game breaking or ones that can lose your save data, just silly or ridiculous ones and lastly the missions are so repetitive, you'll find yourself doing the same thing. Now where this game shines is in the story and the accuracy of what the 60's were like in this game's version of New Orleans known as New Bordeaux. My recommendation would be to get this game when it's cheaper.

Love this game. IT will pull you in an make you feel for the main character. I have never played the other mafia games so I can't compare it to those.

The pros: Fantastic story and setting. Soundtrack of 60s music is excellent. The Cons: Game does suffer some technical issues though. Lighting effect make it seem like there are constant rolling clouds. Lots of glitches but none are game breaking. The biggest negative to me though is how dumb the IA is. It makes the game way too easy even on the hardest setting. Game is alright but I don't recommend paying full price if you can wait for it.

All in all the game was good. Would'be given 5 stars if it wasn't so repetitive.It's a good open world game that I'd recommend to others.

The setting is awesome and the story is interesting but best of all the soundtrack is amazing. Some of the best classics of the era.
