My remote keyboard that I use with my laptop when I am home and have it connected to a larger monitor stopped working after many years of use. If I had known this new Magic Keyboard was available (and relatively inexpensive too), I might have replaced it sooner. It works basically the same as the old one (nice key action, etc.), but this has the Touch ID built-in (gamechanger) and it doesn't require battery changes...just an occasional recharge.

I just bough this keyboard for my monitor. I thought I would not like it because of the size. However, I like it a lot. The Touch ID is a really nice feature. It might not be budget friendly, but worth the money

Great keyboard. I travel between offices and workstations frequently. I carry my MacBook Pro and typically dock it to a monitor when I arrive at an office. This keyboard travels with me along with my Magic Mouse. The keyboard is light and fits in my messenger style bag, very easily. What has been really helpful is the Touch ID. I rarely do work in excel or accounting so not having the number keypad is ok for my workflows.

The compact size is the big draw, but great battery life, fingerprint ID, and quiet operation are all big pluses as well. Worth the extra bucks in my book after buying a $35 knock off that had loud clicky keys and was clunky and poor performing overall. You get what you pay for.

The keyboard is good and i do like the TouchID.. since Apple is so secretive on when they launch or update stuff I had no idea when the updated USB-C version was coming out so I bought this a few months before they updated it.. I mean it works but now i gotta keep that stupid cable around just for my keyboard or buy an adapter. Not sure why updating the charging port was such an industry secret…just low brow.. You can only gouge for so long before people get sick of your nonsense. Just once, be consumer friendly.

    Phenomenal Apple Keyboard

Easy to set up and use. Instantly starts working because it connects right away and lets you know on screen it is connected. Also shows connection & battery percentage at the top. Built-in Touch ID does work great. *But it has some moments it would rather be pressed in rather than lightly “tapped” but I think that’s a software issue rather than issue with keyboard itself. Battery life is phenomenal. I haven’t had to charge it yet, I’ve had it a little over a month with constant daily college student use. Comfortable to type on and use for hours at a time. I have to type up a lot of papers and I don’t find my fingers or wrist cramping at all. I don’t use any wrist pads or anything like that.

Great product, when you buy it at a discount. This ABSOLUTELY IS NOT worth $140/$160!!!! TouchID is a great addition but there is no way this keyboard should cost this much. It does have the same "butterfly" feel of the old MacBooks so honestly not sure if they will last as long as they should. Either way, when heavily discounted ($40+), go for it.

Really great keyboard if you have an apple silicon M chip computer. TouchID works flawlessly in unlocking my computer, password access, etc. I also like how quiet it is to type on the keyboard. Best keyboard apple has made. My only complaint is it's quite expensive for what it is. I feel as though it should be about $50 cheaper.

I bought an M1 MacBook Air shortly after they were released. The M1 chip was such a monumental shift compared to the intel Macs before it. However, the tough ID button was a close 2nd for me in what has made that laptop my favorite. The magic keyboard is exactly what you'd expect from Apple and now it has the Touch ID. I bought an open box model from Best Buy and am very happy with my purchase.

Having Touch ID on the wireless keyboard is a game changer. I use my M1 MacBook in clamshell mode and it’s convenient not having to put my password in every time my computer goes to sleep. I would recommend if you have a similar setup.
