The magicJack was very easy to set up and transfer/keep my old number. And it provides phone service at a very affordable annual cost (~$50 for me). However, it won't let me call in to some work conference call lines - indicating that the service does not recognize the number and it may require an additional pay-per-minute fee. I reached out to magicJack to get the conference call number approved, and they still won't allow it. At this price, I am keeping magicJack for most phone service and will just use my cell phone for conference calls. Good - but can be better. These are local conferece call lines I am using.

    Pros mentioned:
    Call quality, Money saver, Price

We have been using Magic Jack for probably 5 years and really like it. So when we needed another line, it was a no-brainer to purchase another. This one we plan on using for vacations overseas. (Yes, if you have hotel wifi overseas, you can call the US for free by plugging the phone into the Magic Jack and plugging the Magic Jack into your PC.) The price includes 1 year of service. After that, yearly service price varies depending on how many years of service you purchase. For us, the city tax we pay for 911 service is more than the yearly cost of the Magic Jack service. We really appreciate Magic Jack sending us emails with audio voice messages when we are not home. We purchased this at Best Buy because sometimes internet businesses send used or defective products. This product is relatively easy to set up. You have the option of either plugging it directly into your router or into your PC. Very inexpensive so long as you have internet service.

I bought this to use a regular telephone when talking to my parents since using a cell phone was spotty and lower quality. The old MJ+ version started to drop calls and my Mom could hear echoes. This new version is still crystal clear and no more drops or echoes. The only thing I noticed is that there is a delay when dialing out now. Otherwise works great.

I've been using a MJ for many years. Problem was my old one required being plugged into the USB of an operational computer in order to work. I hated having a computer running 24/7 just for a VOIP line that I rarely use, so I upgraded to this one that plugs into my router instead. It does the trick and is a decent, fairly cheap way to have a quasi-land line.

My in-laws moved to a senior living center. I used magicjack to "port" their land line phone number they've had for 30 years (to magicjack). They are still able to use their answering machine. I increased the roll over to time to voice mail to 1 minute.

This purchase so far has me amazed and I hope I do not have to come back later to say differently. The service has been wonderful and for the total price for a years worth cannot be beat unless you find 100% free. I am even able to hook my fax machine up to the data line on my home office home and I am still cheaper than any other options I have been exploring.

I don't know why I took so long to get it; free for the first 12 months and then only $40.00 a year from then on. Real easy to set-up; you can plug it into your computer or straight into your router/modem which ever your preference that meets your requirement. And if you load the Magic Jack app on your cell phone it will automatically forward all your land-line calls to your cell phone if you opt to; no extra charge.

The product itself works great. I had a little trouble importing my number since my name wasnt exactly on the records the way they had it by one letter. After a while customer service got it fixed hopefully. i would purchase again.

The service seems to go out more frequently than when I had VOIP with Xfinity (Comcast). The call quality is less than desirable (but maybe not a huge issue since we don't use the house phone that often). I noticed that it seems to bog down the computer that it is connected to as well. When I shut down the app, the computer seems ok, but when I restart it (and it has to be running on the computer in order to work for a house phone), the computer slows down again. All in all, I think after a year, I might consider just getting rid of the house phone because I can't see paying for this service. Also, in case you expect to see caller ID, don't - it doesn't work with Magic Jack which is a pain because of all of the RoboCalls that everyone gets these days.

At present time, just about every store is closed. COVID-19 has everything a mess, including shipping times! Amazed, my local Best Buy had one. Store pick up was a breeze. Very old unit (like 2009) crashed. With out This, no phone! Once home, only took a few minutes, BAM, better calls, seeing how this unit replaced a very old unit! Thanks to my local Best Buy!

Outside of poor connection when using a landline phone, it does the job to receive business calls when I’m working remotely. All I do is use my mobile phone to receive & place calls. Heck, I had no clue you could even send text messages via MagicJack. It’s definitely worth it

My old MagicJack needed replacing. (I had it for 10 years). This newer version is great. I can plug it into my router and run it 24/7. I can also send faxes with this. This thing works so good I may just get rid of my landline. Easy to install

I have kept a MagicJack as a backup phone for almost 10 years now, using my cell phone my primary. I used the original version for years and needed a new device. This works even better than the original. While I don't know how this would work if trying to use it full-time, the sound quality was great on the calls I made.

Magic JACK for the most part is good . Where it falls hard is in customer service and renewal process. Had 6months left on my account, not sure after 2 days on phone whether it got added to new account. Difficult process in registering MJ and phone number.

Setup the device according to their instructions, and selected services. One such service was Local 911 service, which showed as $0.00. Then after activating, I am sent a bill for 911 services, and according to their website/help, it cannot be deactivated once selected. It would be NICE if they were upfront that they were going to charge you before you select the service. I am just waiting to see what other charges are going to pop up.
