Dont think I will buy again.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After installing I ran a full scan of the entire hard drive and Malwarebytes found nothing. Then I ran a full scan using Super-Antispyware "free edition" and it found 14 items. So I guess I am not impressed with this product and it's probably not worth the money.

Affordable laptop security.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Idk why I waited so long to purchase some thpe of cyber security system. I had been using the default laptop systems but as technoglogy advances, I felt it only right to purchase good quality equipment to protect me from cyber attacks, but to also let me know if I have corrupt files on my computers.

Premium Protection Means Peace of Mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 4.0 Premium Edition of Malwarebytes is an amazing tool that will provide outstanding protection for your computer (Android, Mac, and Windows). Sometimes a Virus program can potentially slow your computer down. That is not the case with the Premium Malwarebytes. It actually worked with my Windows 10 with Edge to increase my speed and protection of my computer from website to website and everything in between. Protection means peace of mind! • Easy to install - Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium Edition was the easiest software protection program I have ever installed. From an email link, you go to their download page and put in the license numbers provided. Then Malwarebytes prompts you right through the download and activation. There are only a few installation steps and you are up and running. • Speed – I was afraid that the Malwarebytes program was going to slow my computer down. With other software virus programs, slower speeds were normal. I have to say, my movements between websites, games and/or other programs were actually faster. I didn’t experience a slower speed and my computer was still protected. • 3 Devices - Malwarebytes allowed for me to download on 3 devices. To get the Malwarebytes on my other devices, I was prompted at each stage, on each device, and successfully installed Malwarebytes. I was impressed with the Premium Edition because it was so simple to use and worked well with my computer (Windows 10 and Edge) and other devices. • What does Malwarebytes protect you from? – It is a long, long list of threats including any kind of “malicious software”. I am protected from viruses, ransomware, Trojans, Worms, etc and any website threats. I feel safer after installing Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium because it protects my whole computer system and eliminates the problem/threat areas. • Why Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium? – The 4.0 Premium Edition adds real time protection against: spyware, phising scams, Malware (of course), and many other threats wanting to destroy or take information from you. Malwarebytes not only protects for the moment, but for the future with A.I. Artificial Intelligence is used to protect against new threats. You have the option to receive updates on new threats daily or hourly. • Scan - With Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium, scanning is a breeze, while the program identifies and gets rid of any threats or viruses. The Malwarebytes program has easy to use controls to make it work for you and your computer lifestyle. I choose a quick scan to be performed every morning when I turn on my computer. It works well for me and easy to setup in the Malwarebytes control panel. I was on the computer the other day, when I was informed of, “malicious software” on a website I didn’t recognize. That was no problem for Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium Edition. It informed me and protected me from the threats on that site. Malwarebytes 4.0 Premium Edition goes beyond just virus software. Malwarebytes protects your computer from threats to an even higher level of security. Continuously and quickly, you are kept safe, when using the 4.0 Premium Edition of Malwarebytes.

Simple and effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: The review is for three devices, so I installed It on my MacBook Pro, a Windows desktop, and my Android phone. Overall, the software works well and is extremely simple to use. In my review time, I never had any issues or positive virus results, not that I was looking for them and that it is normal or anything… but it did well using few resources. Pros: - Extremely simple interface - Easy to get around - Scans are non-intrusive - Provides real-time protection - Works alongside your existing antivirus if needed with no issues Cons: - Not many power user options - No firewall or other extras provided by other security software Installation: My copy was digital, so I downloaded the software from the Malwarebytes website, installed it on my devices, and entered my activation key. The software did an initial scan and then went into the dock to never be seen again. Hard to elaborate on this section as it is extremely straight forward and is meant to run in the background. Use: The interface is simple with only three “tabs”. 1: Detection history 2: Scanner and 3: Real-time Protection. The 1st one will tell you how many items you have in quarantine. The 2nd allows you to scan your system and set up scheduled scans and the 3rdx will tell you if you have malware protection and app block enabled. The only other option on the menu is my account option and some simple settings. This software is simply to find and remove malware on your computer. Do not expect it to do much more. It does not do firewalls, it does not block spam from your email, it does not provide password protection, and so on. It does one thing and it does it extremely well. Having dug into the product further, it appears to get great reviews on virus definitions compared to the competition. I was not about to go to websites in pursuit of viruses just to see if it will work so I will take the expert's option on it. On my PC desktop, I have it running alongside Norton and it is one of the few antivirus software out there that can run alongside with no conflict. The android version was very straightforward and simply scans your apps installed. It does not appear to take a big hit on battery. Performance: On Android, a scan can take a long time so I would start it while charging or have it do it in the evening while you sleep. I am scanning on a 256 GB Mac drive right now and it took 5.51 minutes to scan with the drive about ½ full. On the Mac, the software uses four threads and uses about 1.4% of the CPU while scanning. Also, while scanning it uses about 86 MB of memory. While idle I found it used below 0.0% of CPU and 88 MB of memory. I didn’t test long term battery drain but with the CPU usage I am seeing, I would imagine it has little impact.

Fast but Buggy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using Malwarebytes for a while and am glad to see that they have improved its performance in every version. It is light even on my slowest laptop. It is very easy to use and the interface is probably the least busy of all similar software available today. It found 24 PUP.Optional.ASK potential threats the first time I ran it on my PC and every single time after that it found at least 22. Although I would send them to quarantine, they would always come back even if had not used the browser after the last scan. Actually, if I ran it immediately after, it would still show the same number of threats. I don’t believe they were real threats – it might be just some browser extension that I use – but I thought it would have prevented them from reinstalling or at least warned me they were being reinstalled but it never did. My suggestion to MalwareBytes is to clarify exactly what they are referring to. What software or extension is that exactly? Only MB uses this cryptic PUP.Optional.ASK name. Users could make an informed decision about whether they really wanted to get rid of them. Most importantly, MB needs to ensure it won’t come back when the user decides it should be quarantined. That is not happening in this case. Another issue I found was that it crashed Google Chrome often when I opened MB to scan my PC or laptop. Once it started scanning, I could reopen Chrome without further issue. That is, until it sent threats to quarantine when it would ungracefully crash Chrome without any warning. I say crash because if it was trying to close the browser, it did so ungracefully and without warning. I believe it is a bug and MB should be able to fix it during an update. In the meantime, it is an annoyance at best. Although it is fast and has a very clean interface, I was somewhat disappointed. I always have Antivirus/Anti-Malware installed on my devices besides using a firewall so I was not surprised it couldn’t find anything else other than what I have already mentioned but it did protect me when visiting a specific site. So my disappointment has nothing to do with its performance or accuracy. I trust it will protect devices very well. Still, the lack of clarity and the seemingly bug that kept crashing my Chrome browser sometimes during scans and always during the time it was sending the alleged threats to quarantine, forcing me to reopen and then restore the pages I had open, I can’t but not recommend it right now. Maybe after they fix those issues, it will be okay. Not during the time of this review.

effective security suite
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used products from Malwarebytes way back to their days of the Malware removal tool before they even entered the full-fledged Antivirus, security suite market. Their products have always been effective for follow up cleansing of suspected infections. The Malwarebytes Premium suite builds on that tradition. The installation on my Windows PC was a simple, lightweight process. Scans were quick and there were various options that could be configured in the plethora of configurable settings including advanced exploit protection settings with application hardening, advanced memory, application behavior and java protections. You can also configure Allow lists, essentially white listing a file or folder, websites, internet access by application and previously detected exploits. Overall, the product is effective, the user interface (UI) is simple, almost primitive, there are several themes you can apply to change the basic look. The Android version, although not specifically designed for tablets, included some interesting features including a Privacy audit function to scan your installed applications for what permissions they have been granted. I also like Security News section which included links to newsworthy security related articles. Happy with the product(s) and see real value in this protection suite, both on the PC and Android platforms I installed it on. Pros: - Basic, simple interface - Detected suspicious BitTorrent client traffic - Very configurable, for those which want additional protections - Includes Mac and Android versions Cons: - Windows Explorer context menu scan cannot run simultaneously with an active or scheduled scan. - Small quirks/bugs in threat log when displayed in full screen (you can’t use some of the icons, they disappear when moving towards them with your mouse).

Premium, effective protection without the overhead
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used the free version of MalwareBytes numerous times over the years to rescue friends, relatives and customers’ Windows PCs that had been infected with spyware, malware and a host of other badness. Majority of these systems had some of the popular virus protection software installed, yet they still got infected. MalwareBytes was able to find, quarantine or remove over 99% of the malicious software. Now that I was given an opportunity to upgrade to the Premium version, I can unlock the true potential of complete protection, not just scanning for Malware when it may already be too late. One of the nice things is that MalwareBytes is very light weight, doesn’t bog your system down like other traditional anti-virus software from the “big guys” tend to do. Even performing a scan of about 500k files on a 250GB hard drive only took a few minutes and throttled CPU resources in such a way so the PC was not rendered useless. Using the Task Manager at any point, MalwareBytes showed only 45-75% CPU utilization. Additionally it seems to play nice with other anti-virus software. I didn’t have to uninstall the traditional anti-virus software I already had on my system. It is always good practice to have multiple layers of protection with different virus protection engines if they don’t conflict with each other. The installation was quick and simple. The Premium version includes Real-time protection for Website threats, Malware, Ransomware and many other Exploits. The interface is clean and easy to use. There are just the right amount of Settings that can be customized, but not overwhelmingly so. They are separated in a few tabs such as General, Notifications, Security, Display and Allow List which will let you create a custom exclude list of executables that you know are safe, but may have been detected as a false positive. I also tried it on my Android phone and it just works and didn’t seem to put too much strain on the CPU or battery. All in all I believe MalwareBytes Premium is a fine product which I will continue to use and recommend, but it may not be a complete replacement for traditional anti-virus software (yet).

Excellent adjunct protection to internet security
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use a "brand name" security suite on my MacBook Air. However, I have often wondered about adjunct software that would work with it, to kind of double check what my primary software was able to detect. My past experience with this experimenting didn't work out so well as conflicts would always occur. Well, I've been using Malwarebytes PREMIUM for about a week and have to say, I'm impressed. While I was concerned about compatibility with other security software or using too much of my laptop's resources, that was all a moot point. No conflict at all. What I am most impressed with is that it found things I didn't know about. First of all, it looks for PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) and asks if you want to quarantine them. I did. No regret, it was an old photo duplicate program I had forgotten was on my laptop. Good job! Also, I was playing around with testing and going to the malware testing page that is used as a benchmark, Malwarebytes found that site to be potentially harmful - and gave a large red banner to make sure I knew. Excellent job! My security suite did none of these two things and that is a bit concerning because it is supposed to have this kind of protection built in. And this is why I was contemplating a 2nd security software to prevent problems. It worked out perfectly, this software is definitely not overkill or duplicate protection and as I was concerned about, it worked to do something that would have been overlooked. Would I recommend this? In today's world with all the cyberthreats we face constantly, having both a full security suite, with Malwarebytes as a 2nd opinion if you will, is a really smart idea. I'm cybersecurity aware and am also IT aware, so in telling you this, it comes from the voice of experience with these things.

Protection from malware
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This software goes beyond anti-virus protection to provide a more comprehensive product for the devices it is installed on. Anti-virus software alone just isn't enough anymore- there are too many ways a computer or other device can become compromised. It's not that recent, but it's seems that the harmful malware, viruses, spyware, and ransomware, are more complex and pervasive than the products we can buy to protect against them. Ransomware in particular is a huge issue, that has made it into the news as well. Systems can be easily reinfected even when the demands are met. Another issue is protecting your system from threats found in emails that seem legitimate, but actually allow others to access your files, personal and financial information, and even damage your system from inside. This software from Malwarebytes adds a very effective layer of cybersecurity for three devices for a year. It works with PCs, along with Mac and Android devices. It protects from all different malware, not just viruses. It protects from emails that might contain harmful things too. It removes potentially harmful programs that can affect whatever you're doing on the computer, especially when online. It's very easy to install, and the default setting already sets up regular scans and protections for your device, and updates automatically too. You can also adjust the settings for your own preferences. Best of all- it doesn't slow your device while it's working, which is a great reason to try this out. I use multiple programs at the same time, and I didn't notice any impact after installation. It's also affordable. I recommend this software to protect your personal information from a wide range of threats. I've only used it a week, but didn't find any problems with performance.

Did a great scan on the first try
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently use a couple of different premium services to protect my devices. I have an I5 pc that was running Windows Security because I ran out of subscriptions to send to that pc and I don't use it very often. It was my main PC a couple of years ago when I was finishing my BS degree. I don't want to erase it since it has a lot of my work on it from that period. So, what better than to install Malwarebytes Premium on it. I've run the online checker a few times and it did the job that Windows fails to do, but not like this. I downloaded and installed the software. Entering the license key was simple and worked as it should. The software did an update and was ready to go. I ran a scan and I figured it would find something because like I said, I used it for research and school. I visited many websites looking for information and some might not have been the most secure sites. What I didn't expect was it found 36 backdoors. They were all in my user roaming file and so with one click, I quarantined them. Windows Security never popped up one of those trojans/back doors so to say I'm happy with Malwarebytes is an understatement. I now have a clean backup machine and 2 unused device keys I can use since this is a 3 device subscription. I have a couple of laptops from the same period and don't remember if I'm running Windows Security or a competitor's suite. If I find I'm not satisfied with what they are running, you can bet I'll install Malwarebytes’s based on my experience with the I5 desktop. I'd recommend this to a friend if they are looking for peace of mind on a device.

Excellent protection in lightweight software
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is just what I need. No extra "optimizers" and speed up your PC bloatware. You get ransomware, exploit, malware, and web protection in a simple to use interface that is not resource intensive. Installation was fast and easy. AI algorithms scan in realtime to protect you and it scans Outlook attachments as well. After the initial scan, it found 3 trojans that were quarantined after I had been using another leading AV software... already feeling more secure. Like most AV software, you will get the occasional upsell and promotion of their products, but NOTHING like others out there. I like the vast database of threats that you can click and it will take you to a page that informs you of the threat in depth. In all, this is definitely a good software you should consider ESPECIALLY with all the online students out there now.
