Customers commend the high quality, ease of use, and improved viewing angles offered by this pull-down TV wall mount. Many found installation to be challenging, citing difficulties with the instructions as a contributing factor. The ability to adjust the TV's height and position is a significant advantage for viewers. However, some users suggest that two people are needed for proper installation.

We purchased this onsale and found it to be a great tv wall mount. We have a mantel with a dual shelf, and had to construct a shelf style box using 2x10's, 2x8's and 2x6's, made them to appear as a cabinet, and this mount worked perfectly once we met the setback threshold. It lowers the screen to a normal height and allows for watching TV without neck strain. On top of the cabinet is the TV Sound Bar...

Expensive but does the job. 98 inch tv doesnt mount on most mounts but this fits. So i recommend resesrch before installung as this was our only option wothout having to wait for shipping. High quality mount. Instuctions good for most part but can be confusing. Had to redrill in wall bc we thought it moves down not moves up after installation. Double and triple check bc redoing it is def a process. Did the first time with 2 ppl but 3 ppl 2nd time to be safe

Customer Service (Maurice) is probably the only reason I didn't return. Mount works with Samsung QN90A; however, missing parts and lacking instructions. I would not trust hiring someone to install due to the issues with parts and instructions.
Company confirmed that many of the online instructions I was able to find via google were outdated and wrong. Videos on the internet that I could find did not match the product I ordered. For height above mantel, I used the chart in the instructions included (physical instructions).
If your studs are a hair and more shorter than 16" on center (mine were ~15.5" on center) then you'll need to cut the Wall Plate. Mount has zero lateral adjustments. Contact the company to get it in writing that your modification will be ok as I did.
Pg2 Required Tools: make sure you have a 1/2" socket or long wrench. The tension rod on mine would have rounded out using the metric socket/wrench stated.
Pg 2 Required Tools: highly recommend you research what drill bit to use. This page states 7/32 while the drilling step states 11/64. That is over a 20% delta in the pilot hole size and I presume could cause failure (TV falls to ground).
Pg3 Verify Parts: I was missing several items and had to make a home depot run. The list on Pg3 does NOT match the instructions. For example, if you use M8 screws for the back of the TV because you have a QN90A, you won't have any washers for the Wall Plate. Labels on this list do not match the packaging.
QN90A screw for back of TV: M8~18mm 1.25 (to account for washer and brace). If you use the M8 15mm 1.25 provided that bolt may only grab ~2 threads. If so, that means the TV is held up by 2 threads. Make sure whatever you use does not bottom out. For me, M8 20mm 1.25 seemed too long so play it safe.
Pg8 Determining Wall Placement: Company confirmed measurement is from bottom of vertical mount to bottom of TV/SoundBar. The instructions have a picture that conflicts with this statement.
Pg8 Determining Wall Placement: The minimum distance between mantel and lower wall plate is worded two different ways that is ~3/4th of a inch in difference. I chose to use the 'minimum distance between the mantel and the bottom of the lower wall plate', which mirrored the picture provided. The picture itself has a conflicting statement and so does pg 9.
I used a lazer leveler and measured about 5 times after confirming the left and write portions of the studs with a finishing nail. Lag bolts were a hair thicker than the wall brace, so before I drove them in, I pushed them through the wall plate c channel to help loosen it up a tad so the wood would not have to deal with the metal (that will make sense if you pre test fit everything)
Pg 16 pre-set the lifting force: The unit is not marked. I eyeballed with tape measure for this initial setting of what I thought it should be. In my case we had too much tension initially once the tv was on the mount. We were then able to reduce tension while TV was on it. It is a slow process and frankly, if not enough tensions was there, the TV would have dropped (we would have had to take it off). I personally would aim to have more tension as it made it a lot easier. If I tried to use a metric socket over a standard, the bolt would have stripped. S stubby wrench will be extremely difficult. Lastly, I believe you're on a timer here. The safety bolt was bending over time leading us to sorta rush to get the TV up faster than we planned. BE PREPARED,
Remember, there is no lateral movement. I marked in advance where the vertical braces would attach to the tv brace.
Pg 24: Another list of parts that conflicts with the rest of the instructions.
Overall, this install felt very custom. Having to pick up additional parts, cut the wall brace, cut bolts, figure out what tools to use. Knowing there is no lateral movement only re-enforced the need to really dial it into center. I'm within 1/64" or less and fortunately my mantel only 1/8th off over 64 inches. Be prepared to take this a lot longer than you'd expect and be extremely careful with the safety pin. It was bending a lot during the pre-adjustment phase and continued to bend more while we got the TV on. We had a material lift since we were afraid of destroying the TV. I can't imagine hosting a 75 inch on this and having to take it off several times to re-adjust the tension rods.

This works great with out tv over our fireplace. The first mantel mount Best Buy sent and recommended was the wrong model and was too heavy for the Samsung TV we bought. So we ordered this model directly from the Mantel mount company and Best Buy install it. Best Buy does not tell you ahead of time that there is an extra $149 fee to mount TVs over a fireplace. It is Geek Squad who does a good job installing and the mount is perfect but Best Buy screwed everything up

This TV mount once installed is absolutely perfect for my new 77” TV above the fireplace. Like many have said, it is not the easiest to install, but if you have any basic handyman skills, you should be able to install it yourself. It took me about 5.5hrs to install from opening the box to having a fully functioning tv and soundbar hung up. My old soundbar was not compatible with the mounting brackets, however, I was able to still mount it by other means. The adjustments are easy to make to compensate for the weight of the tv, and raising and lowering it is simple with one hand. The 77” tv covers all mounting brackets and wires. Looks and works great, just a little time consuming installing it.

Love this mount but gave it only 4 stars because it is extremely difficult to install. Our Best Buy 3rd party installer was very challenged during the installation process as it was the first one he had ever installed. Really enjoying the look when up and the eye level view when down. Definitely recommend.

This works great. I was fortunate enough to get an Open Box deal on it. Appears to be a really solid mount for above the Fireplace. I will say it is on the more expensive side.

Must have for high mounts!

I really like it! It took awhile to put it up, wanted to do the math so I only do it once. There is lateral movement to find the studs and the TV can be moved on the mount support for centering purposes. (Not sure what the one review was talking about). Centering the sound bar took a little while. My sound bar was thick so I put the pull down handle between the TV and sound bar. I like it here as it hides the handle. My TV is high above the fireplace so I do keep the TV down while the high efficiency wood fire place is running with no problems!
Overall I highly suggest this mount! People that see it are really impressed and it’s very functional!

Amazing mount it is heavy so make sure you have a little help getting it attached to its mounting plate. The adjustment of the spring force in the mount is easy to make. The only caution I would have it that buyers need to know how much of their TV will be above the mount so that the mount can be installed low enough to keep the TV from hitting the ceiling when raised back up

Mantle Mount Concerns
|
|

This mount is sturdy and pulls down easily. However, because it really only swivels when pulled down, the range is limited due to the mantle being in the way.
My (very accomplished) handyman had lots of difficulty installing it. Very complicated instructions.
Finally, if this is mounted on the wall and not recessed, the front of the TV (Q80C) sticks about 7 inches from the wall.
The soundbar bracket is not adjustable and there is about 1.5 inches between the bottom of the TV and the soundbar (Sonos Arc). This shows lots of the bracket.
The soundbar also sticks out to the edge of the mantle (mine is only 7 inches) which leaves me concerned about heat from the fireplace hitting the edge of the soundbar.
This may be okay for some people but it's not really working for me.

Very convenience to use and makes it easy to move TV to different directions in a room. It was bit tricky to install so may need some time to install. We use this for our 75” TV and it holds it pretty well.

If you're going to mount the television above the mantle, this is one of the two mounts that you should look into getting.
I would have loved to get the more expensive mount, which would actually make the TV flush with the wall when the TV is not being used, but I actually have a pipe in the wall, from my real fireplace. This mount was the safer option to go with because of that fact.

Thus far it s what I needed to adjust my TV do to the minor obstacle that is unavoidable to bypass. Handle is able to pull down and twist to adjust proper height to my need. Bought to swap with previous mount for my 65” Sony OLED TV

This is a very solid mount. I would not recommend using it for anything less than a 45 inch TV though as it may not be heavy enough to keep the arm down.
My only complaint is that the instructions are not correct for certain things. Ex. it tells you the washers to use but the washers are not big enough.
