Does what it's supposed to do! As an A/V receiver, you need to have a video source to setup and operate. Im taking out one star as the GUI is outdated and HEOS app is unbearable in my opinion. It allows you to connect to various streaming sources but thats where the flexibility ends, searching song and utilizing your existing playlists is impossible. If your main purpose is to power your speakers- go for it. If your purpose is for streaming- forget it.

Sounds great, full of features -- but the right channel stopped working within three days after installation, and the unit keeps switching itself off unexpectedly. Right channel became weaker and weaker, had to turn balance all the way to R+12, then it completely died. Best Buy has provided great service. Will replace the unit. Hope the replacement is defect free. If not, have to find a suitable full-featured alternative. Come on Marantz! What happened to QA?

Does Everything I was hoping and really sounds nice. The phono stage is a big improvement over the bluetooth option I was using. The DAC really makes streaming music sound good.

Great sound with the so much flexibility in connecting all my stereo and tv requirements. Excellent on board system to help make connections.

While it's true this little receiver is only two channels at 75 watts per channel, it is the IDEAL choice for TV viewing in a non-theater stereo only environment. It's five HDMI inputs provide plenty of choices for different component hookup to my 65" Samsung HDTV. I personally am using three of the five HDMI inputs, one for a BluRay, one for a Roku streamer and one for a Tivo receiver. Those inputs along with the WiFi, Bluetooth and the HEOS features allow for a VERY easy integration into my existing HEOS network. This allows me to use the receiver for TV viewing or multiple room audio "Party Mode". This is a feature filled purchase option for those folks needing only two channels for a non-home theater type of environment. Additionally, the Marantz quality is fully upheld in this little receiver. Bottom line; this little receiver is an awesome buy and a great "Bang for the Buck".

Met all expectations. Top quality. Finding a better receiver for the money isn’t possible. I did the homework. More then double the price is minimum. Sit back and enjoy the music knowing your smarter then the average bear : )

I was looking for an audiophile grade stereo receiver for a while and couldn't find one until I found the Marantz 1200. Still can't believe it is only $600.00 considering the quality, design, and loaded with features. It is the perfect product for my needs and my wife even commented how nice it looks so it also gets WAF. The setup took less than 15 minutes and the first piece of music was a DMP sampler from Thom Rotella. My new Martin Logan Motion 15i speakers sounded effortless and I actually had to turn the volume down - even though there was no hint of receiver or speaker fatigue but just clean "but too loud for me" music. Highly recommended.

Good quality sound at a great price. Enjoy the sound on our patio while we are enjoying the pool.

I couldn't be happier...plenty of power and preamp outputs for 2 zones. Sound quality is very good. HEOS works great for me...Marantz 2016 AVR app works well too...on both Android 12 and Apple iPad. Perfect solution for a stereo only 2 zone preamp setup that also supports HDMI video switching. Highly recommended!

This 2 channel receiver replaced a Marantz NR1609 multi-channel surround receiver because the NR1609 had more features than I needed. The NR1200 sounds "cleaner" and more "natural" with recordings of acoustic instruments and its setup is easier since it's only 2 channels. The internal circuitry is designed more for music reproduction as explained in the Marantz website.

Great 2 channel receiver. As long as you don't need to go into Cedar Rapids store. Customer service is awful.

Crisp, clean sound across the audible range and volume contour. The Marantz NR1200 drives our Vandersteen 2Ce speakers to our delight without a pre-amp and delivers vinyl and CD recordings equally well!
