The Marantz NR1711 is my first experience since retiring a 20 yr. old Onkyo. I love it. First my concerns for enough power to fill my 12x17 room were alleviated after setting up the Audessy speaker setup. After a few tweaks to that afterwards, I was blown away by the Dolby effects using our 5.1 speaker setup. The OLED signal passing from our PS5 and streaming is awesome too. Our Sony bluetooth headphones connected easily as well as using the phone app Marantz offers for free. There are no lack of connections as well as network capabilities here. This made my older Infinity speakers sound new again. I wish the remote was back lit though. The larger front panel display is better for us since the on screen display will not show on screen when watching OTA tv signals. Love the small form factor and the eARC works well too. Best Buys Magnolia sales people were excellent to get answers to my questions. We got the Geek Squad extended warranty just in case. Good purchase so far.

Easy to setup with on-screen guidance. I was concerned that it won’t power my Klipsch speakers but wasn’t I wrong? In fact, I never fully enjoyed the speakers until now. I love that you can control the receiver with phone app and enjoy music with airplay. Can’t go wrong with the quality, the finish and the sleek look that you can be proud to display.

Excellent quality for a small room at a decent price.
(Cautionary note: This unit -which took me nearly 60 years to bite the bullet and purchase- improved the sound to such an extent that I have started upgrading my entire audio system with new speakers, HEOS multi-room streaming and speaker and stereo amplifier for enhanced zone two applications.)
Fast and easy set-up or long detailed tweaking; your choice. (Most of us will revert back to the fast and easy since the results are outstanding for each individual's environment.)

Used as a main for our living room in a medium-sized room for music and movies. Powers a pair of KEF bookshelf fronts with ease, and delivers a large array of features in a small package. Could not be happier with the "bang for the buck!"

A fantastic Marantz 8k AV to complement a premium OLED Tv and Dolby 5.2.1 speaker sound. Sound configuration is easily switched with speaker presets option (The online version of the manual is a very useful tool) Audyssey setup equipment is a learning experience for you to get the best out of the slim av.
A built in Phono pre-amp adds exquisite pure sound to my turntable and display the settings on my tv is the only way to do the best calibration

Nice for the price, great combination with the 20i Martin Logan speakers, so far unable to connect with my wife’s bluetooth. Overall I won’t mind buying again.

Nice compact unit supposedly 50 W I bought it for the 8k up conversion and the Dolby Atmos mode, which only kicks on if you’re watching a Dolby Atmos movie. The hdmi arc connection is a must for your TV to have to connect to this unit for maximum results. This is for home theater.

I purchased the Marantz NR1711 to replace an 8 yr old Marantz NR1403(still works great). This was like moving from a stripped down car to a fully loaded vehicle. The sound quality is still the same warmer sound compared to other receivers. I was comparing the sound of the Denon 2300, both sounded great but the Marantz was a bit better. I always liked the low profile model compared to the standard size because in the cabinet it allows for better air flow around the unit to keep it cooler and looks more current. The unit is rated at 50W at 8 ohm but a little better with 6 ohm rated speakers that I use. The power is more than adequate for a small to standard size room either for music or video. I did consider the 5.1 model as my previous unit but jumped to 7.2 for the extra channels for zone 2 as a future use. I had a couple of extra satellite speakers and rigged them to reflect off the ceiling from the towers to verify all the channels functioned. Sounded really great so I left them set up for now. The set up was pretty straight forward with improved graphics than the previous model. After going through the Audyssey set-up I went through and checked the results and the actual distance between the speakers and the listener, they where all right on, even the ones being reflected, was impressed. Some of the likes: Bluetooth both transmit or receive, however, it is one or the other. The remote has a button for selecting Bluetooth when needed but when selected you have to re-enter your source, defaults to listening on the net. Speaking of the remote, one of the dislikes, it is really really slow. Nearly a second delay required from one push to the next otherwise it is skipped. A like, although the remote is not back-lighted, it does glow in the dark. Since I am using this with a non-4K TV, I would defer to other great professional reviews on the internet for details on this receiver, most are very accurate. However, having a 3D capable TV, it does pass this signal with no issues. I also like having a USB port on the front panel, the HDMI port was the trade off here, its now gone compared to the old model.
Now the reason I could not give this AV receiver 5 stars, the HDMI is problematic. Marantz had the problem on the old model and I think it is actually similar on the newer models. For example, when I would source Blu-ray player, the unit did not always start in the correct resolution. I would have to power cycle it to get the unit to come up correctly. The new model sees the correct resolution every time now, but some times it does not see the source input and you sit with a blank screen waiting for your source to come up. Again you power cycle and wait to see if it comes up. Very annoying. You would think after over 8 years the industry would get HDMI to work correctly, its not only related to Marantz products, reading reviews for other AV receivers, they seem to have similar issues showing up across them all, especially with HDMI 2.1. Another thing I recently, discovered, is if you hook your media port from your computer to the media port on the Marantz, you can play your music/sound directly from your Windows PC, just click on the speaker icon and select Marantz. Nice, you don't have to set up DLNA if you just want to select your music from your PC. Finally its great to have an AV receiver with a phono input again! Good-by to that annoying separate pre-amp when you wanted to play your vinyls.
To sum up my opinion, still love the great AV sound from the Marantz, love all the new features, still trying some out, but I wish the HDMI issues would have gone away,

The sound is great with great sound options. Great for video and 2 channel listening. Form factor is perfect. It gets plenty loud when time to throw down. I recommend for a small to medium size room. My room is 18 by 20. Any bigger and i would go with more power.

Having sevetal Marantz receivers in the past decade, including the NR1608 prior to the NR1711, I was confident this receiver would be just as good. It wasn’t. It is better. It is musical for 2 channel, and comes alive with movies.
I took the time to set up the room with Audyssey calibration, which makes a significant difference. Running 5.2.2 setup (Atmos), I dropped in my usual reference materials, the latest Mission Impossible movies, Midway, to name a couple. The NR1711 was not overwhelmed with anything, and did a phenomenal job blowing everyone away in the room. Some scoff at the 50W per channel, but for our room, which is 15’x20’, it has proved to be more than enoigh, with power to spare.
The best part of the NR series is it looks great in the cabinet without the large size of the SR series. In this case, smaller is just fine.
Easy setup. Calibration. Amazing sound.

The 1711 works fantastic for my living space. I dont need all the extra inputs from a bigger unit so this was a plus. Its about half the size of its bigger brothers. If youre looking for a small receiver with fabtastic quality i suggest this unit from marantz.

I needed a slimmer receiver that could still power. All seven speakers in this thing is better than the Denon receiver I had before this with half the wattage. And fits perfectly in my console.

Picked this up to replace a 15 year old Onkyo that wont turn back on. Wow. This receiver made me fall in love with my 15 year old Infinity Beta 20s. They finally sounded like they did in the store when I bought them. They sounded “fine” before, but they came alive with the 1711 in a way they never had before. Amazing detail and separation right off the bat. The Onkyo was almost twice the wattage and this blows it out of the water at 50 watts. Really glad I grabbed this as an open box at the store. Really odd as it had no at all, but I had to give Marantz a try.

I really like the warm sound this Marantz delivers. I replaced a Yamaha 80W per channel receiver with the Marantz and don’t notice any drop off in power. Mine is connected to 4 Klipsch R51 speakers, a Klipsch sub, Klipsch Dolby Atmos speakers, and a Polk center channel speaker. It’s a small room environment but this receiver will rock the entire house. It’s easy to set up, and the manual which is online and easily downloaded is quite thorough. I’m a big fan of this slim line receiver.

Awesome small form receiver! Jammed full of features for this size and price point. Nothing better at this size and price range. Adequate power to channels. Programmable and configurable in various ways and adjustments. OSD is a bit outdated and plain though. But you're never going to use it once its dialed in like you want.

This has more features than I need right now, but I got it for future speaker upgrades and the slim form.
HEOS works really well, though it didn't see my NAS as a network share until I made the NAS a DLNA/UPNP server.
Audyssey is impressive and even though it does what it thinks is best, you can tweak the settings to your hearts content.
The remote controls all the functions as far as I can tell. It's pretty standard looking and lightweight for it's size.
The only thing that seems glitchy is the switch from HEOS to the Shield Pro connected to the media server HDMI. Sometimes it doesn't want to until I force it by doing a restart.
My favorite things about the 1711 are:
slim form
phono amp
bright and detailed LED display
many ways to connect for all sorts of sources - Bluetooth, wired, WiFi, legacy equipment, and all the newest stuff
All in all, super impressive.

Amazing stereo and spectacular surround sound. Your shopping ends here if you are looking for a great stereo amp along with an excellent Atmos/Surround receiver. After trying Denon X1700H which had to be returned for poor surround & terrible stereo quality; I decided to give this a try. I am extremely pleased with this Marantz NR1711. The treble very recessed in its default setting of Tone 0dB; would highly recommend moving treble up to 5dB and everything then sounds spectacular. This receiver is paired with Bowers & Wilkins M1 speakers and they produce spectacular sound in both Stereo and Surround/Atmos mode. Amazingly impressive!!
