New unit over heating problem!

The receiver keeps shutting down and said it has to “cool down”. Nothing is heating up and nothing is blocking the vents. I have had several Marantz NR series, and they were all great. Thought I upgrade to this one to try it out, but no such luck. Planning to return and exchange for a new one. Perhaps it was a one off, it was made in 2020 after all…good thing the previous versions were great, otherwise I wouldn’t bother with exchanging. Hope the new one is not a lemon!

Neither they nor I can understand this situation. Also this unit is not able to drive a modest pair of speakers. Total waste of money. And Marantz HAD such a sterling reputation. I have already consigned this component to the junk closet. It has been replaced by something far superior. Avoid this component altogether.

Posted .This is one of our slimline models which is designed for less wattage output per channel. For more power, we suggest looking at the SR5015, SR6015 or SR7015 models.

This unit pushes my tower defi itve technology mains, sonos farber center and Klipch atmos and surround speakers with ease. Sound quality is much better then my pioneer elite, sony es and denon avr-1100w could ever do. It really brought my room to life.
