Well I really can't say much but I'm giving it 5stars because we have the Mario edition and it's awesome!! I did purchase the Luigi set but I can't play with it til Christmas Day because I bought the item for myself and it's a gift to myself that my kids and bf don't know about & they're gonna think it's from Santa.

Love this concept. Yes you will need open space but you can also get creative!

Being the harder to find Luigi edition, this is a perfect compliment to the Mario one as long as you have two switches to use them both with. That said, this has the same packaged game and works fully by itself, just like the Mario one only with the the other brother in the driver's seat. Game play was exciting addictive fun from the get-go. Instructions for setup were dead simple and as soon as I was test driving, the magic of VR and seeing my house at mini kart level created a feeling only Nintendo can pull off. Creation of a new course was simple and straight-forward and the kart seemed to keep up with the change in surface from wood, to rug and back without issue. One thing I'll note is these things don't actually move all that fast (probably a good thing) but feel like they're going amazingly fast when watching on the screen. I suspect this won't have the long-term replay value of a "normal" Mario Kart simply due to the novel nature of what it is, that you need multiple karts and switches to play multiplayer, that there can be no online play for obvious reasons and because of the setup involved each time you want to play. All that said, if you can see it as a toy/game hybrid instead of a regular Mario Kart installment, I think you'll be impressed with it and any kid in their right mind will be amazed.

The gift was a purchase for one of my sons for the holiday. BestBuy had a great setup on the site for notifying me of stock and delivered it fast. The Kart came with no issues and the kids love playing with the game. Leave it to Nintendo to keep thinking outside the box on new ways to play. Hope they come out with more expansions on this concept.
