Quite surprised with this one. Personally I feel like this is probably the best Mario Party when it comes to single player. (other than Advance). With 5 worlds one serving the purpose of a tutorial and a total of 15 maps based on 5 different themes. Every other Mario party averages around 1-2 hours per board but due to this games different take/formula/mechanics. I feel you really have control on how fast your games end. (Ranging to 18 minutes to an hour(dependent on map)) Again you are in control. The other Mario Party's however I feel you'll have a better time with multiplayer. Considering this one has only around 20 or so mini games. That being said there's still fun to be had with friends!

    A good experiment

This Mario Party game is unlike the past Mario Party games, which is actually quite good in my opinion. Pluses + Every character moves at once. No more having to wait for everyone to traverse the map before you go. + The level of strategizing you need to do while traversing the board is enjoyable. It's a lot less linear, in that you can choose to go after coins or items, go after partner characters, or go for the bosses. All of these affect how many stars you get at the end, which dictate the winner. It's never a clear cut choice though. You really have to try and anticipate where your rivals will go and choose accordingly. This is my favorite aspect about the game, as it requires much more planning. + The minigames are fun. + The soundtrack is pleasant enough + Its actually quite fun to play even solo, with no friends. My only gripes are that it could use more mini games and that it is not as easy to get into for newcomers. It requires multiple plays to really get the hang of it, what with the new layer of strategy. Still, I definitely would recommend getting this if you're a fan of Mario party.

    Good Game

This game seems to get a lot of medicore scores, but I think it's pretty good and worth buying if you like Mario Party games. Pros: -Minigames are fun, and theres a lot of them -5 difficulty settings -Lots of different modes, all playable with up to 3 other friends with 3DS's (not more than 1 cartridge needed) -Unlockables, including Diddy Kong, stages, and modes. -Everyone rolls their dice at the same time, making it faster paced and a game of predicting how other players are going to move -Progressive single player missions to unlock more stuff| -Balloon Rush mode is like mini-games every other turn, my biggest peeve with previous Mario Party games were playing boards and only going through like 3 minigames -Amiibo support Cons: -Maps don't have as many happenings '?'/event spaces as previous games -Players have to download an app called "Party Guest" on the eshop to get the best experience. It's free, but just an extra step, not a huge con but listing anyway.

    Redeems the franchise

The past few mario party games have fallen short of the mark. Mario Party star rush finally shakes up the series in a positive way with a new mode that makes the game proceed much quicker than previous iterations. Gone are the days of waiting for others to roll the dice and move one by one, instead everyone rolls and makes their moves at the same time. This allows everyone to get to the mini games faster instead of losing interest while waiting. Another perk is the ability to share the game with other 3ds and 2ds owners, playing the game with only one cartridge! Everyone gets the full experience as it is not a watered down demo version. Highly recommend this game for anyone looking for a fun local multiplayer experience. There is no online mode for this game however.

The move creates problems for everyone, especially Matt, who feels lost and alone in his new surroundings. Fortunately, the Turners are helped by a homeless collie who becomes part of their lives - and Matt does a lot of growing up as a result of the dog's unflinching loyalty.

Better than the first Mario Party for 3DS

I bought this game for my 6 year old son. He loves the Mario Party Games. He likes this one way more than the first one that was released on the 3DS. He also plays this one more than Mario Party on the Wii U. Personally, from watching him play all the Mario Parties, the flow of the game is better and the graphics are slightly better (even though I wouldn't say Nintendo games are meant to be the most visually wow'ing).

Fun for a while but ultimately repetitive

There are some fun elements to this game but it becomes very repetitive after a while. I probably enjoyed the first 15-20 hours I played of this game but then it fell flat. Without online play, this game isn't worth it for someone of my age (early 30's). This game is best for younger kids who have people in the room to play with. If not, the game becomes too repetitive.

A party of fun with Mario and the crew

Mario is back with a gang of friends and they're all ready to party. Grab up to three friends (4 total players including yourself) and get ready to have a challenged filled party. With multiple game modes available to play you'll never run out of fun things to experience. Recommended for ages 7+ this will easily appeal to a wide range of ages beyond.

Lots of fun and it’s MARIO!

My son loves everything MARIO, so I picked this up on sale. One of the best features is that you can play part of the game with another player who has a 3ds - only one copy of the game is needed for this. I wish Nintendo did this for more of their games - though it seems as though they have abandoned this play mode on newer games. Lots of fun and definitely worth it when on sale.

This game is a must have for gamers of any age. The really cool feature of this game is that others with a 3ds can also play without buying the game. Great for a parent that does t want to buy 3 copies of a game to have their kids be able to play together. Gameplay is really fun and lots of replay ability. Go get it!

We got this for our 5 year old son. He loves video games and this was easy for him to pick up and play. He doesn't run up to us and ask for help at all. I don't think the game has enough involved to keep adults busy, but for kids it's great.

Boys love this game because they are short duration, arcade type game play. And you still get the great Mario graphics, music, and characters. This is an older game now and should be purchased for much cheaper through @-m-a-z-o-n than the cost I paid at BB. It's definitely a good bday present (to coincide with a young child's bday party.)

This is much better than the Mario Party for Wii U. You don't even need multiple copies to play with friends. Your friends can download the free app and you all will be playing before you know it. It is pretty bare bones at the beginning, but as you play, you unlock more games.

This game is like old Mario party games but has great party modes for download play. My favorite feature is that with one game cartridge I can play with up to 4 friends on their devices! If you love casual party games with friends this is the game for you

Nice update to the Mario Party Series

Way better than previous versions in the past few years. Much improvement on the movement of the game while keeping the nostalgia of the series. I like how everyone moves all at once and you get to choose your own path. Hated having other people determine where the game goes. The different modes are also a bonus and worth playing.

I love the MARIO Party series. It is something my family plays every Christmas. The newest rendition is a great addition to the series. I do always like the console versions. You can play a small portion of the game with 1 cartridge and multiple 3ds, but for everyone to play everything everyone needs to buy the game.

enjoyed playing this game with my wife. We didn't have to buy two copies as their is a free companion app downloadable on the shops that will allow players without the game to save progress and even enjoy certain mini-games all without their own cartridge.
