Hard to go wrong with any of the Mario games. My son enjoys this one. It’s a fun competitive game with several different sub games

My son absolutely loves this game. He can’t wait for the new addition to possibly come out. Hopefully he does just as good in school as he does with his characters in the game. Perfect to keep him interested in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A little bit updated version of the older Olympic games. It isn't spectacular, but you can have some fun with it, especially with a group. It's nice that you don't need more than one switch either. Easy enough for younger kids to have fun with as well.

Have kids or plan a family night then purchase this game. It’s easy to play and have multiple games you can choose from to play. Also multiple characters you can use to play with during the game.

This game really is better with others. It does have a story mode, but outside of that, you won't have much to do playing alone. Playing with friends or family is the way to go. The events are individual mini games and most are pretty fun to play. Only a few require motion controls.
One thing that really bothers me is a lack of a tournament or Olympics mode when playing with friends. Instead, you have to exit each mini game and pick another one each time. It could have greatly improved from a mode that lets you play more games at once.
For $30, I'm pretty happy. I was able to play with my wife and have a good time. If you're looking to play alone though, I might skip this one.

I have long enjoyed the Mario Olympic Games and was excited for what the switch iteration would be like. I have played the single player story as well as the multiplayer mode. The single player mode plays very slow. I could not even really get into it. The multiplayer game on the other hand was a lot of fun. The Rugby and Football (soccer) games setup lots of laughs. However some of the mechanics should be different. For example, individual sports (archery, gymnastics etc) would be more fun if each player went one at a time. That would really bring the heat.
It is a fun game, but has some shortfalls and low replay ability.

There are a lot of events so the play does not get boring. The controls can be difficult for children or people with special needs. Still a lot of fun and addictive to play!

Bought this for my 8 year old son to play with his 11 year old cousin while his cousin was visiting. This game was hit! They had SO much fun with it. Its easy to play and super fun!

As like most, I had high expectations for this game for the Switch. However, I wasn't satisfied and felt the previous Olympic games were much better. It made me want to go back and play the Winter Olympic games on the Wii/DS instead because those games were more fun to me than this one. The retro part seemed pretty cool at first but I never felt a good connection with it and felt it wasn't exactly necessary. Only a small selection of games are retro too. There are many ways to play the games, but the instructions aren't always clear. The motion controls were pretty difficult. I'm just glad that every game includes the option to play the games using only buttons on the controller instead of motion control. The story mode is ok. There are a lot of objects and when speaking to NPCs they give you historical information about Tokyo itself and the real Olympic games. Seems pretty cool at first but there appears to be a lot so I tend to skip them over eventually or just not speak to them anymore. The cool parts were information about the playable characters. Most of the games I felt after playing it once was fun and that was just it for me. Overall, it is nice side game, especially if you love the Mario and Sonic series but I can't justify purchasing for full price for it.

The whole family loves this game! You can choose racing, track, fencing, and other games. Great for young kids just starting to play video games. Highly recommend!
