Not the best Mario Tennis, but not bad either. Improvement from the Wii U version.

My kids LOVE this game. Super easy to learn, yet so fun to compete. My 7 year old son is by far the best of us. I wish I would have known of this game earlier. Its so fun!

    Competetive, for better or worse

Aces is a fun, yet competetive game, that really does shine when it comes to multiplayer. At it's base, it's tennis, and just like the actual sport, can become very heated due to its competetive nature and learning curve. While tying to remain casual and fun, some of the features added can, at times, feel counterintuitive for what the game strives to be, adding mechanics like special meters, moves, slow mo and meter enhanced shots, the game while trying to be casual at its core and yet openly competetive can be infuriating to newer players, or in cases where players are of different skill levels. A little skill goes a long way, for better or for worse, and in my experience, it becomes a game about momentum. Single player is extremely lacking and multiplayer is while fun much of the same, the recent addition of co-op missions is welcome, however, and the option to play by swinging a joycon, while novel, seems gimmicky, but that is just my opinion. In all, while the game can be enjoyable, I am hesitant to recommend it. If it's a game you can get into, then I'm sure you'll love it, but I'd recommend trying it first before you buy through a friend or store demo, or look to get it on sale.

This game nails the fun factor. All kinds of cool trick shots mixed in with your traditional tennis. I've already unlocked Koopa Troopa and I look forward to the next 2 unlocks. Adventure mode is fun, but gets stale early. Playing the CPU in a tournament only features only 3 different cups (kind of like Mario Kart). Once you beat those, it feels like the only thing you have left is to repeat it or just play single games.

    Fun "Tennis" Game

Mario Tennis Aces changes up the normal formula to become almost like a fighting game. If you prefer to play without all the extra mechanics, though, you can switch it back to the classic style. The game loses a point mainly because there's no Restart option in Adventure mode. Some of the stages are extremely difficult, and it's frustrating to have to quit back to the map and reload the level every time you mess up.

This game is just plan fun. Its a fun game with depth competitive game play. Single player is there for show but this game similar to Mario Kart 8 its best features is the fun competition against friends and family. You will jump when you win and yell when you lose. This game takes you there. It would be perfect if more is added such as custmization and more courts with suprising characters. But fun equals wanting more.
