After my *second* Bose Soundlink Mini failed, I replaced it with this Marshall Emberton. Bass is not as resonant, but it plays louder, plays longer and is (so far) more durable. Sound imaging is the same from the front AND back, so there's no need to "point" it. Also highly water resistant - can be used near the shower. Looks cool. It's quick to disconnect from your device after non-use.

Just a fantastic speaker! First off, the look is just rad. Had that classic "rock star" vibe going with a sleek, timeless design. This is something I dont mind leaving out on the shelf for display/decoration. Second, when you first pick the Emberton up, you feel a quality product. This thing is a beast. I feel like it could roll around in the back of my truck and be totally fine. Have no problems wanting to take this out amongst our rugged Wyoming landscape when I am working, on job sites or car camps. The sound lastly is always the most important to me in speakers. As someone who works with audio as a career in video work, I am a stickler for quality sound and picture. And this eases my audio concerns in a major way. Super crisp, clean sounding audio comes out of this little guy. And the loudness for the size is truly remarkable. Also, audio does comes out on both sides so you get a get all around sound not just a projected playback. But it up a few inches or so away from the back of a shelf or wall and you'll get great broadcast of sound for the whole room. The only slight letdown to me was the bass level. This speaker feels a little bass heavy. But you can go into your audio player, like Spotify, and modify the sound real easy. Wish there were some audio controls with this - like through an app or something. But found an easy workaround for that.

Excellent bass response and omnidirectional stereo output make for a huge amount of sound from such a small box. Simple to operate. Good looking; simple design. I’m very impressed. Obviously a lot of thought went into design. Only possible drawback is that when played very loud there is some distortion but really, if you want it THAT loud get a bigger one.

The Marshall Emberton is a fantastic buy! It sounds great and has an ipx rating for when things happen (Falls in pool, Hose Spray) I use it daily and love the sound quality its definitely a HUGE upgrade. Only regret was I didnt hold out and get the bigger one.... Still may. Thumbs Up

Love this guy. Tied my tail in knots for months trying to pick a small speaker. This thing looks absolutely awesome compared to the JBL and Sony models imo. Feels solid in the hand and high quality like an iPhone. So much more grown up looking than other brands. The sound is like some reviews have noted where it sounds different at different volume levels but it sounds natural if that makes sense. More like if you were listening live versus the speaker using software to change and or accentuate different sounds. Not the loudest but perfect size and volume level for what I needed- listening during the day while working and at night in my townhome. Battery life is spectacular. Listening at low levels while working allows about 2 weeks before needs recharge. Louder with friends over, 4-5 days. Completely happy with it. As Flossy would say, “It’s a go!”

Legendary Marshall quality. Built tough and has a great sound. A little pricey when not on sale. I has a grunge-like guitar on and off noise that's pretty cool that might catch you off guard when first using the speaker. Just wish it had an Aux/Line in,

Love this speaker. I had been thinking about getting it for a while. Sounds better than any portable speaker I have had so far. Excellent battery life. I would definitely buy another one. It is super portable and the fact that it's water resistant is an added bonus.

I have been using it for the past 2+ years. No issues and defects. Sound quality is great. Overall excellent performance. Worth for the money .

Great sound in a small package. Surprisingly good bass especially if you place the back of the speaker close to a hard surface. Much better sound than JBL portable speaker. Better lows than portable Bose. Great for dorm room, office, or taking on the go. Solid construction.

A very good bluetooth speaker for musical enjoyment. The bass is a bit strong, which does at times overwhelm the mids/highs. But of all the small/affordable speakers I've tried, the Marshall has the best sound quality. Battery life is good, as is build quality. It's an easy unit to operate. All in all a very good product.

I love this speaker. It has very good sound quality for its size. It fills a room very well. It does have a lot of bass to it, but sounds great. The battery life has been excellent. I have gotten around 15 hours of play on one charge so far, and I still have three bars to go. It does not cut out as long as you are within range. The range seems to be quite far. I live in a good size two bedroom apartment and can get as far away from it as possible (at least 35 feet). The control joystick works with no flaws. It is also flush with the top, so if you set your phone on top of the speaker it will not touch the controls and it is difficult to accidentally hit the controls with your hand. It plays from both sides and the "Marshall" writing is only on one side. I have not tested anything relating to water resistance.

I own two Marshall speakers. This little portable one has great sound and is perfect for travel. I use it in my hotel rooms for my music, which is a nice change from the TV.
