I really wanted to purchase this remote speaker and recently was able purchase one when it was on sale. Great remote speaker with a great sound. Plus this speaker provides the ability to adjust the bass and treble. Plus the remote speaker has a long play time before the b device has to be charged.

I was looking to upgrade my JBL Charge speaker to the JBL Xtreme because I consider JBL portable Bluetooth speakers to be among the best sounding. Then while researching prices, I stumbled upon several reviews from well known testing and review websites that spoke highly of the Marshall-Kilburn II speaker. They even gave the speaker their Editors Choice Award. So off to Best Buy I went to see for myself. What a tough decision. It was a tie as the JBL, Marshall-Kilburn and even the Ultimate Ears Boom speakers all sounded great and you can't go wrong with any one of these. What was the deciding factor? The Marshall-Kilburn had several. The nostalgic look of a famed guitar amp was a big one. How could you not enjoy that look? It will set it apart from any other portable Bluetooth speaker out there. Not only was the sound on par with the rest of the best but another big selling point for me was the separate controls to adjust the Bass and Treble to my own liking. You won't find that feature on the others. The Marshall-Kilburn isn't as small or portable as the others. It isn't waterproof to the extent that it could take a dunk in the pool as with others. It doesn't take phone calls as with others. And I don't care. I bought it to use out on my patio and not the beach, pool, camping or hiking.

I forgot my JBL flip 6’s, door dash was delivering for Best Buy, read a few reviews, and took a chance. I know Marshall’s reputation from rocking out with the band, a reputable pedigree of pedigrees for guitarists. Yet, i was still quite surprised when this stout- like Guiness, amp powered on and sent shockwaves through my playlists. I’m still shaking my head as to why i took ao long to take an old friend out for a spin.

I originally had gone for the smaller Emberton speaker that is also very good, but this speaker is way better and louder! The battery lasts 12 hours and the treble and bass are adjustable on the speaker to make for a amazing sound experience.

"I recently purchased the Marshall Kilburn I| and it has quickly become the centerpiece of my living room, not just for its classic look but for its exceptional sound quality. The speaker pairs seamlessly with all my devices, offering a rich and balanced audio experience that fills the room without distortion, even at high volumes. The battery life is impressive, making it ideal for taking my tunes on the go. The build quality is robust, living up to the Marshall legacy, and l've received numerous compliments on its vintage design. This speaker doesn't just look like a rock icon, it performs like one too!"

Easily paired and room filling sound. This speaker packs a punch. I have yet to test out the 20 hour battery life but I plan to take this speaker on a cruise. I upgraded from a sonos roam that was frequently losing its pairing and connectivity. The Marshall Kilburn II has been working great and I picked this one up open box! Marshall has been making guitar cabinets for years and the QC is evident in this portable option. 5 stars from me!

This Kilburn II model from Marshall is fantastic. Having had some experience with portable speakers but always wanting just a little bit more from all of them, I was pleasantly surprised to find this model from Marshall and test it out. It does not disappoint.
First of all, I love having the ability to adjust treble and bass independently to cater to the particular source that’s feeding it. Right out of the box, with both set to “0”, music still sounds better than many portable speakers I’ve used before. Bass is quite good when set proportionally to volume, past a volume level of 5, middle bass is still fine but low punch and high bass notes start to fall off fairly quickly. Treble holds on much longer but starts to lose some of it’s “brightness” at higher volumes (7+). Being independently adjustable though allows you to set them wherever they compliment the music rather than having to live with muddy bass at high volumes.
All that said, good luck to you if you want to listen to this thing anywhere in your house higher than that (6-7+). If loud is what you’re looking for, look no further. It will probably be louder than you’ll be able to stand inside your home at 10. Take it outside and you might have to crank it up a tiny bit but this thing just keeps slamming your ears anyway. I would imagine that it could hold its own with some of these massive speakers I’ve seen people bring to the beach or to house parties. It’s not going to be as loud as those but for its size, it punches well above its weight class. Well above.
I’m generally not a fan of Bluetooth as I’ve found it to be, for me at least, a fairly unreliable way to do much of anything. Thankfully, pairing this speaker with a Bluetooth source is painless and quick. The connection seems to be very solid with no issues so far, even while keeping my phone on me and walking throughout my house.
Battery life is great, at a volume of 2 for a total of about 3 hours I saw only one bar drop off from a full charge. Obviously, going louder will drain the battery more quickly.
In short, the sound is great, bass and treble are independently adjustable which is a huge win in my opinion and they both contribute significantly to the sound. It’s plenty loud enough for outside parties, the beach, etc. and the Bluetooth connection seems really solid. Aesthetically, this is what I’ve been looking for in a portable speaker. Set it on a shelf or desk and I doubt anyone will assume it’s a portable speaker. It’s well worth the price tag if you want something portable, loud, and rugged enough to take outside or to the beach. 10/10

This is hands down the best semi-portable bluetooth speaker that I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. There are speakers that play louder and speakers with more bass (read boomy), but this speaker is about as accurate in reproducing music as they come, plus adjustable bass & treble controls. The Marshall lineup is all about the music, not about apps or speaker phones. The on-board bluetooth connects instantly, with really good range. Crank it for classic rock, no problem. Listen to intimate jazz down low, no problem. Killer looks and the battery life is really good, even at louder volume levels. I already owned the Kilburn's little brother, the Stockwell, which is pretty good in its own right, but this is a big step up in sound! I would pay full retail for this, but getting it at the special sale price makes this even sweeter. If great sound is your first priority in a blue tooth speaker, this is definitely one to consider!

After comparing several different speakers in the store, this one was, imo, clearly the best choice for a gift to my 15 yo granddaughter. The sound quality was superior to other similar sized speakers and equal or superior to several larger and more expensive speakers. Rich full bass and midrange with clear crisp upper range. The knob equalizer gives easy adjustment to personal preference. My GD uses it in her room for TV and gaming and looks forward to using it at the pool and beach this summer. She even likes the “old school “ design!

Great sound from a small box! Plenty of bass and good highs; mids aren't as strong for my taste but not a reason to avoid this speaker. Good volume and easy pairing evident with all my BT devices.
