    Marshall delivers the sound!

To the meat of the matter first! The sound coming from this little powerhouse is amazing. I am a bass fanatic and this speaker did not disappoint. I listened to the Black Eye Peas with minimal treble and total bass...thunderous. I then listened to Pieces of a dream with a piano solo turning up the treble...crystal clear. Because I libe in an apartment and I had the sound all the way up, I'd half expected the neighbors to bang on the door asking me to turn my music down. It really is that booming folks! Now to the aesthetics. It came well packaged in biodegradable, molded cardboard that held it rock solid in its box. Then it was wrapped in a white piece of cloth that I'm pretty sure wont clog up our landfields (for the eco minded folks), it kinda felt like unwrapping a Christmas gift. It's a solid speaker that won't get knocked over from a good gust of wind if your out camping or at a picnic. I'm not great at weights and measures but I'd say it's about 3-4 pounds with the dimensions of 6X4X4. I have the Black model, in leather which I like because it's not going to get dirty when I sit it down in the grass. What I really love about the speaker are the dials, they are analog so I get to choose if I want a full step or half step up and down on the volume, treble and bass as opposed to digital where it's either a full step either way. This may not make since to the millennial crowd but it's about choice to the old heads...LOL. You get two different power cords, US and International, I think. If you want a wired connection to the speaker you'll need your own cord. The detachable handle is a little tricky to remove and seems that it might compromise the strap if you do it multiple times, but at least you get the choice. I think I like strapped. But if you go strapless there's a small finger grip in the back to carry it around. The only cons for me thus far; the speaker isn't waterproof and it doesn't have a speaker phone. The many pros are; the sound, it's loud strong and clear. Pairing is literally less than 10 seconds. Initial charge was Buick and seems to last a long time. The look is old school which makes it unique. And the ability for me to be the master of my sounds using the analog dials. This will drown out all the other big boom boxes...yes!

I usually buy Bose and when my new Mini wouldn’t charge, I decided to try something new....glad I did. Great speaker that packs a punch and really love how you can adjust base and treble. Very impressed and just love this thing!

This was my husbands Christmas gift and he loves the ease of use. He plays in a praise band and the ease to use the speaker to practice with his bass. Good sound. He would recommend it.

This is a great mid size portable speaker. The music quality you get is great. You can adjust the bass and treble. The only thing negtive is you can adjust the volume with a nob as well which kind of makes it tricky on how loud you want to adjust the volume with you’re phone.

The price is pretty steep but the quality and sound is great. You can even adjust the bass. For its size it is kinda heavy but that’s a good thing.

It sounds amazing with virtually no distortion at any level. Why 4-star? Here are few things that annoyed me- 1. Bluetooth connection It frequently disconnected from my iPhone/Laptop when I was watching videos or listening to music. It suddenly disconnect for no reason. And its Bluetooth 5.0 but there’s tiny delay in voice or notifications sounds from phone while watching videos. 2. Loudness This is loud but not very much. It depends where you play but for me it could have been more loud compared to its price and competitors. I returned this product within a week because of frequent disconnection. But if you not having any similar issues then this is the best Bluetooth speaker I heard so far.

An upgrade from the first generation of Kilburn II

This is my second Kilburn II from Marshall. The first one was larger, had better fit/finish, but ultimately didn't perform as well as this version. The most important update was the battery gauge that tells you how much life is left. They advertise that the battery is good for 24 hours of play, but that's probably a bit closer to 18 hours when used at higher volumes. The Bluetooth connection is also much faster than the previous version. Overall this was a good purchase and the sound quality is a big improvement as well.

This is a great speaker! I’m only taking one star off because my first order was a dud and I had to order one that worked. It is a bigger portable speaker, but the sound makes it worth it. Money well spent.

This box has great, great sound and really has a cool look to it inside the house. It connects pretty easily. It is slightly heavy but it will fit in a beach/pool bad easily. I would recommend it to most people.

As someone who owns several Bluetooth portable speakers, I can honestly say I have never been more impressed with a speaker than I am with this one! To begin, the Marshall Kilburn II is built like a tank. It really does feel like a full sized Marshall amp. The craftmanship is really something special. Solid materials with great attention to detail. This is really a piece of beauty! The controls are simple and easy to use. A volume/power dial, a bass dial and a treble dial. Along with a small button for pairing the Bluetooth that's it. A 3.5mm input is on the back of the unit. Again, simplicity. Also, the built in leather carry strap is a beautiful touch. Now many of the speakers on the market today have things like built in phone connectivity, menus to find functions and such. Not the Kilburn II. This is simply designed to do one thing and do it well. This is all about providing the best sound possible. To be honest, most speakers sound pretty good these days. But nothing compares to this. Volume really cranks when you need it to. The independent bass and treble dials are awesome. You will really appreciate not having to dive into a menu or push this while pushing that and so forth just to complete a simple task. Battery life seems to be every bit of the 20 hours that is advertised. I also like the red LED's on the top that indicate the level. The Speaker is a bit bigger and heavier than most portable speakers. I suspect the big battery plays into the weight. But its not so large as to keep it from being portable. I really don't think you can find a better sounding and well built portable speaker if you tried. If you are looking for a speaker to take out in the rain or onto the sandy beach, you might want to look elsewhere. But for everyone else (and I do mean everyone!), this is the speaker for you!

I've only had it for about a month, but it stacks up well against the half-dozen other brand-name portable speakers I've owned. Classic retro good looks; great sound for it's size with bass that doesn't distort.
