Great Value for Style, Sound and Battery Life

Pros: * Amazing battery life (30+ hours) * Good Sound for Music Listening * Compact and lightweight * Convenient control knob Cons: * Mids are overshadowed by punchy bass and high treble * Beeps instead of voice prompts My Review: First off - these are what I would call “value” headphones - they aren’t the cheapest you can get, but there are many options at higher prices points, too. For their price, they really deliver. You can literally listen all day (24-hours straight) and then still have battery leftover for the next day. They are relatively light and comfortable for on-ear headphones, too. Sound is good with punchy bass and tight treble, but is definitely a little shallow on the mids. Depending on your choice of genre, these will most likely sound good for you. Spoken word (audiobooks, etc) are not where these headphones shine but music sounds great. The only control on the headphones is a single 5-way joystick-like button. Push in to turn them on/off, accept phone calls, invoke a voice assistant or play/pause. Slide up/down for volume and left/right for track controls. Overall, I really like this - it’s easy to find blind while you’re wearing them and works great. My only complaint is that while many other brands are going with a nice voice to indicate various actions, these stick with simple beeps. There is a micro USB port for charging and an novel bi-directional 3.5mm headphone jack. Plug one end of a 3.5mm cable into the headphones and either plug the other end into a source to use these headphones wired (instead of Bluetooth or when your battery does eventually die). But, you can instead connect that same free cable end into someone else’s wired headphones to “share the music” if you’re listening wirelessly. I’m sure it’d look weird to have two people sit near each other with a wire connecting their respective headphones, but it’s a novel use of that port when listening wirelessly. The materials are nice for a value headset - not leather, but supple and easy to clean. The ear pads are easily removable to swap out with new ones, too, with current pricing at a reasonable $22/pair. The provided power and audio cables are really nice. Overall, these are great headphones for the money with good sound, great battery life, nice controls and that classic “Marshall” retro style. I would like a slightly more balanced sound stage, but these are otherwise highly recommended if you’re looking for on-ear wireless headphones with a lot of value for the price.

Ok, Getting down to review this Marshall Over the Ear Bluetooth headset. I can quickly give you the pro's and cons. Now I have several which are neck bands type headphones that I am comparing it with. I always start out with ease of use. My LG's are a pain to use, tiny buttons and what not, the JBudsBand is super easy to use and this new Marshall even easier, a very easy straight forward design. Now its an on the ear design, so take note if you wear eyeglasses it can bother you after a while. It not too tight on the ears so I didn't feel the need to remove my eyeglasses or pull them off and back on placing them over the headphones pads. There is 1 button, yes just 1 ! Consider it like a joystick. Push and hold it turns on with a tone and push and hold it turns it off. Blue tooth pairing you push it and hold it past turning it on and it starts the pairing process. I quickly paired it to my LG cell phone and TV with no issues. So now I compared the range with the 2 other neck band Bluetooth headsets. The range is exceptional, more that twice, well over 100 ft. it easily outranged my other 2 headsets so if your looking for range, this is a winner. Getting out of range it disconnects but walking again towards it automatically reconnects. Now controlling the headsets volume , FF RW and picking up a cell call is easy, the 1 button is a joystick. Toggle it Up and volume goes up, down and volume goes down, fwd it skips to the next track and back it reverses. 1 quick push answers a call and 2 hangs up, pretty straight forward and easy. So how well does it sound?? Its crystal clear, clearer than my other Bluetooth headphones. The highs are super clear, mids nice but it lacks a bit of bass. If you like bass, this may not be for you. Now you're probably thinking "Het its a small over the ear, what do you expect? Yeah, but being so, it still has a sizable driver, far larger than the ear buds and the JBuds had more thump and they were ear buds over the neck. So while the quality of sound clarity surpasses my other head sets, I feel the bass is lacking, if it were a bit more bass, I feel they would have nailed it. Pro's The Highs and Mids are unreal, crystal clear! The volume is loud enough, louder that my other head phones. Range exceptional. Battery life is exceptional, plays in what seems forever. I had no need to charge it after many hours of use. It's compact design makes traveling with it easy. Cons Lack the bass that with this larger design it should have but it should be adequate for most.

    Excellent Bluetooth headphones

I have a few different types of Bluetooth headphones from in ear, up to over the ear headsets. My most used ones for phone calls and every day listening are a set of Jabra Bluetooth on the ear headphones. I wanted to see if there’s another on the ear headphone that like the Jabra but has a little better sound and would be more dedicated for my gaming computer. I like my over the ear headsets but those can get quite heavy on long gaming sessions. When I saw Marshall had a set out, the Major IIIs, I wanted to give them a try as they will be the first Marshall branded ones I’ve owned. Unpacking: The headphones came nicely packed, the box and everything inside is made from recyclable cardboard so there’s no waste. The headphones were packed folded up and with them came a USB charging cable, and audio cable, and instruction book, no carrying case or bag came with these. Inspection: The Major IIIs are pretty light, they weigh in at 180g, and the Jabras come in at 110g, so the Major IIIs are a little heavier, still nowhere near my OTE headsets. The ear pieces fold up and into the head band making the package quite small in comparison to the Jabras that only rotate flat for transport. The headband is quite a big thicker and wider and is nicely padded and the ear cushions are considerably thicker than the Jabras. I do like too that you can grab the ear pad and rotate it to remove it, makes cleaning and replacement super easy. Setting up and Using: The first thing I did was to plug in the USB cable into my multiport charger and to my surprise nothing happened, no light, just a slight beep, the headset was fully charged from the factory, “nice”. There’s a gold button on the left earpiece, and when wearing it’s facing toward the back, this actually makes it easy to reach and feel, it’s completely meant to be touch feedback only; there are no lights on the control button “joystick” at all. To set up the headphones you press and hold the power / control button in until the small led on the opposite side by the USB port starts blinking blue, about 5 seconds, then just find the headset in your Bluetooth app and pair them, worked every time with multiple devices, no problems there at all. My first test was pairing them with my phone just to see how well they work during a phone call, “they do have a built in mic”, although it’s not a boom mic like the ones on my Jabra. I made a couple calls and voices were nice and clear, everyone could hear me just fine but there was a little bit of a tendency to pick up some background noise. Since the mic is built into the earpiece and not on a boom I can understand why that happens. The gold control button works good, forward / back for volume, quick press to answer and hang up. Although with all the functions built into one control button it’s easy to accidentally disconnect but not a bother with a little practice. My Jabra set is more suited for this as it has a separate large button on the center of the earpiece and volume controls located above/below that button, easier to use and harder to cut someone off. My next test was to pair them to my gaming desktop, and windows found them without problem and paired them right up. I went ahead and listened to some music, which actually sound better than the Jabras, a good bit more bass to them, and highs sounded nice and clear. My wife took a quick listen and approve on how well they sounded, “We’re both getting a little older and our hearing isn’t perfect, mines nowhere near, so with that, for us listening to music they sound really good. Both of my OTE headset sound better with much better base but these are large gaming headsets and understandably sound better, they just weigh a lot more and I can’t wear them for very long as my ears get too hot. Out of curiosity I used the included cable, it’s a bypass cable so if your battery dies then you have backup and don’t have to wait for them to charge up. I was surprised that the sound quality was basically the same “to me” as using them wirelessly through Bluetooth, I figured that using the 3.5mm hardwire would sound better and it didn’t “or wasn’t enough of a difference for me to notice”. My last test was to pair them to my TV through my Bluetooth transmitter hooked to it, and it worked great. Since I have hearing problems I like to use a headset so we don’t have to crank up the volume for me to understand what’s being said. Movie sounds are very clear, and I can easily hear voices and tell what’s going on without struggling to listen or read the captions. The range is really decent too, I was able to walk to the front bedroom of our house “the furthest away and there was very little dropping, not enough to bother me and I wouldn’t be listening to a movie that far away but it’s a good 45’ from the TV to the end of that room. Conclusion: I really like the new Major IIIs, they are right in between where I wanted a good set of headphones, they are beefier than the Jabras and have better sound music/movie/gaming wise. The pads on the earpieces are larger and fit on my ear better sealing out background sound more than the Jabras, and with the pads being thicker they are more comfortable for long gaming sessions. Also, the included 3.5mm cable is longer than most others, it has a section that’s coiled making it that much longer and helps keep it out of the way, it also has a control button in it and depending on how many presses you can pause, FF and RW. The control button / joystick takes a little getting used to but it works well. These are supposed to have 30hrs of run time, and I used them a few times before charging, I hadn’t run into a dead battery yet, so I’m pretty impressed with that, “looks like their 30hrs is very possible.” If you are looking for a smaller on the ear, wireless headset and want to use them for listening to music, playing games or watching movies you will probably like the Major IIIs. I still prefer the Jabras for taking calls as it has the boom microphone and works a little better in those situatons.

The Marshall Major III is a robust, durable, and cool headphone.  The size and weight are just right for this design. It is very comfortable with a battery life that lasts for many hours.  The 30 plus hours of playtime is insane and great for many all-nighters. The small ear cups are perfect, made of soft material, and are comfortable.  The cups lengths are adjustable and conveniently collapse inward for storage; although collapse doesn’t significantly reduce the size, it does protect the ear cups. The sound is good with enhancing bass response, smooth mids, and crystal clear highs.  The ear cups reduce outside noise, but not noise cancellation. The brass color multidirectional brass color control knob is used to control music and calls.  A single knob control the following functions: power on/off, turn on Bluetooth, volume, pause/play music, skip forward/backward, fast-forward/backward, volume up/down, answer/end and reject incoming calls.   The headphone comes with an optional 3.5 mm AUX wired cord for when Bluetooth is not available or when the battery goes dead.  When using the Major III wirelessly, the AUX socket on the earpiece can be used to plug another headphone and share the sound with another headphone.   The Bluetooth aptX technology allows the user to be able to play audio at a higher bit rate and minimize syncing issues.  Voice conversation works flawlessly without intermittent stuttering.  This headphone is well-built and surely will withstand extensive use.  Everyone in my family is a heavy user of headphones, and they all enjoy the Marshall Major III.

Marshall has been making amplifiers and speakers for more than 50 years and their expertise continues to shine in the headphones they have begun making in recent years. The company has done an exceptional job at combining their classic styling with current technology to produce headphones that stand out for all the right reasons. I typically do not like on-ear headphones (as they are commonly stripped down versions of full featured over-the-ear headphones), but the MAJOR III stands out in sound clarity, build quality, functionality, and even in comfort (to a degree). This headset is beautiful. From the traditional Marshall logo to the brass accents, and through to the leather style vinyl covering - every detail has been perfected. It truly is rare to find a headset that sounds great and actually looks stylish, but Marshall has achieved greatness with the MAJOR III. Be prepared to receive compliments! Though the MAJOR III are physically small, the sound is robust and balanced. Both low and high volumes project even tones with a clean bass that is prominent yet not overpowering. The majority will be genuinely pleased with the default levels and the rest will be able to tweak equalizer settings to perfect their desired audio preferences. Besides looking better than any other set of On-Ear headphones, the MAJOR III is also the easiest to control. A single brass knob protrudes slightly from the left earcup. With this one knob, the user can seamlessly adjust the volume, change the track, play, pause, and answer/end phone calls. The knob is always easy to find and it works every time (unlike touch controls that can be cumbersome and difficult to use while running, biking, etc). The battery life also sets the MAJOR III ahead of the competition. The company boasts that the headphones can play for 30 hours. The battery lasts so long that I have made it through an entire work week without having to recharge them. And, the wireless range allowed me to walk at least 40 feet from my desk before I experienced any interference. Once you go wireless, you truly cannot go back! One impressive bonus feature of the MAJOR III is that you can share your music by plugging a wired headset into the 3.5 mm jack located on the right ear cup. This is extremely handy when watching movies with a friend using a phone, or laptop. A friend can simply plug their earbuds into the MAJOR III and you can both listen with ease! It really could not be more simple. The downfall of this headset is comfort - which is typically the case with on-ear style headphones. Though the earcups are soft, squishy, and reasonably breathable - they press tightly against the user’s ears making them uncomfortable after about 30 minutes. The battery may last for 30 hours, but due to the pressure placed against your ears, you will not want to wear them for extended listening (such as all day at work - which is where I initially tested them). The size does adjust to fit both children and adults, but they simply squeeze too tightly. For those who wear glasses, the Marshall MAJOR III are flat out uncomfortable. Glasses must be tipped forward on the bridge of your nose so that the arms can sit above the earcups. Wearing your glasses in this way looks slightly odd, but it is the only way that they can be worn comfortably while using the MAJOR III. Overall, if you enjoy On-Ear Headphones, the Marshall MAJOR III are simply awesome and are completely worth the purchase price. If you are typically annoyed with how much pressure On-Ear headphones place against your ears, I would still recommend trying the MAJOR III (as long as you don’t wear glasses all of the time). They are more comfortable than most On-Ear headphones and definitely have better sound, battery life, and are easier to use. ...But, be aware that they still do apply pressure to your ears. Marshall continues to impress with the MAJOR III and I look forward to trying out the products they produce in the future.

I got these headphones for my 20yr old son who listens to lots of music and he loves them! He said the sound is super crisp and he likes their stylish appearance. They aren’t advertised as noise canceling but when he has them on he can’t hear any other noise......which he said is a huge plus. They seem to be high quality material as well. The collapsible design is great for him to toss them in his backpack at college. Being able to function his smart phone with the toggle button is a great convenience too! Overall he is extremely happy with them.

Finding good and decent blue tooth headsets are difficult to find, especially if you are on a budget. I've tried both wireless and blue tooth, both expensive, mid-range and cheap. I don't like free standing ear buds because I'm afraid they are going to fall out or I'm going to lose them. With that said, I am very much enjoying these Marshall Major III headsets. After having it for nearly a week, testing them on various devices, I must say that this is my FAVORITE headset. Pros: -Look and feel of it. I am familiar with the Marshall line of speakers and monitors and love that classic "Marshall" name look. The Major III's go back and honor that classic and minimalist look onto these headsets. Just looking and feeling them in your hands, you are left with an impression that these are not only looking good, but feel good (in your hands and over your ears). It has leather-like surfaces on the top of the head band and on the ear cushion which feels comfy on your skin. -Setting up: The user manual matches the minimalist appeal of the head set, where you are left with very few wording and simple images. Powering it on the first time and connecting it to my iPhone XR was simple and painless. Figuring out the controls of it was just as easy as you are given just an image of what/how to use the single button on the head set. -That Knob. On the Left ear piece you will find a single gold-color knob. It has a total of 10 different functions on using the Major III: 1) Powering it on, 2) Play/pause, 3) Fast Forward, 4) Rewind, 5) Next Forward, 6) Go Back, 7) Increase Volume, 8) Decrease Volume, 9) Answer calls/Hang up, and 10) Voice activate. These 10 functions are each controlled by how you click and push. -3.5 Input/Output Socket. These are Bluetooth headsets...AND wired. If you are low on power, Marshall provides a cord that can be plugged into the headset and the audio jack of your device(s). If you want to share with someone, you can plug in their own headset into the 3.5 jack. This was a very brilliant move! -Removable Ear Cushions. If you need to replace the ear cushions, this is an option later down the line. I find it very useful as these can get dirty, damaged, or worn out. -Long-lasting. According to the manual, you can enjoy 30 hours of wireless listening before needing a recharge. I haven't gone that long yet, but did watch both Avengers Infinity Wars and Endgame back to back, and I was at about 95%. -Sound. Very crisp and clear, and not noise cancelling. They on the ear comfortably and still provide that nice crisp sound. Very impressed with this quality. Connection distance: It's stated that you can go up to 30 feet away from the connected device. That's pretty accurate. I live in a two story town home and my phone was in the kitchen and I was in the master bathroom which is about 20-25 feet away including the floor between and the connection was still really good. Cons: (yes...1 con that I found) -Connecting to Android tablet. It connected really well with my iPhone XR, but I had difficulty connecting it to my Tab S4. The manual states that in order to make it discoverable by devices, you need to hold down the power knob for 5 seconds. Unfortunately, it turns off at 4 seconds. I held if for about 3 seconds and my Tab S4 did not find it. After a few minutes of turning it on and off, it finally was discoverable and was able to connect. Maybe it was just me and I wasn't holding it down properly? Who knows. I tried it on another Android device and I had similar issues. When pairing it to my wife's iPad Pro, no issues whatsoever. I don't know what the issue stemmed from, but it's working now. Overall, I am very much enjoying the Major III headsets. What an incredible device.

Look: The Marshall Major III Bluetooth Headphones have the nice retro look to them like other Marshall electronics items. Size/portability: These headphones are compact enough to carry around since they fold up when not in use. The folding design is well done. Build Quality: The build quality is okay with the leather looking padding. It doesn't feel like it would hold up, though, under heavy use. Bluetooth: Connection is simple and works great without problems when pairing and then automatic disconnect/connect when the headphones are turned off and on again. I had no problems with establishing a connection at all and no problems with dropped connections using my iPhone. The multi-function button is very convenient since you don't have to find more than one button while wearing them. The same button is used for power on/off, pairing, volume up/down and track selection. Great idea but takes some getting used to at first. Sound Quality: The sound quality is very good for an on-ear type of headphones instead of over the ear. They seal very well against the ears. The bass is nice and pronounced, the mids are clear and strong but the highs could be better. They sound really good, though, for bluetooth headphones. They definitely don't sound cheap at all. Battery life: I haven't run the battery down on these yet but they are lasting a good long time on the initial charge and my iPhone still shows them almost fully charged. It would have been nice if a small case was provided with these. I would also love to have a pair of these with noise cancellation so I could wear them while I am mowing but these don't have that feature. Overall, very nice.

Despite its popularity, this has been my first experience with the Marshall brand and so far, I am very impressed with the Marshall Major III Bluetooth Headphones. Setup was a breeze: simply turn them on and continue holding down the control knob to initiate Bluetooth pairing. Then, refer to your device and select these Marshall headphones. I used these headphones with various devices just to see how they performed including over Bluetooth with my phone, PC, and TV via Bluetooth transmitter as well as hard-wired to my Xbox One controller just out of curiosity. Surprisingly, these headphones worked exceptionally well in all cases including with my Xbox although I would not necessarily suggest them for this type of use if you plan on chatting while gaming. A gaming headset with an actual boom mic would still be the best option. Aside from the great audio quality, the feature I like the most is the control knob. It is very unique in comparison to other headsets I own which all seem to have various buttons that are difficult to keep track of and use without looking at them. With these headphones, you can control everything via this one control knob and for some reason I just really like the way it feels. The headset itself is very nicely designed and isn’t exceptionally heavy or uncomfortable to wear. I also like the way the ear cups fold up, making them more compact. Overall, if you are looking for a reliable set of wireless Bluetooth headphones that provide great quality, durability, and comfort, you can’t go wrong with these Marshall Major III headphones and I highly recommend them!

The Marshall Major II are an extraordinary pair of Bluetooth headphones. Not only are they comfortable to wear, which is a first for me, they sound amazing. Upon opening the box and affording them the chance to receive a full charge, I was easily able to connect them to my iPhone X. The entire process took less than a minute. They controlled through a single button and the fit and finish is simple but elegant. Once connected to my phone, I put them through their paces with various genres of music. No matter what I played through them the voice was crisp and clear, bass was heavy but accurate and the treble brought it all together for a very enjoyable listening experience. My next test was to see how wearing them for an extended period time would feel, so I played one of favorite action packed movies. I never once in the over 90 minutes needed to take these Marshall off to give my ears a rest. These have easily become my most favorite pair of headphones and will be traveling with me for now on. I will definitely recommend these to friends and family with enthusiasm.

Modern headphones with old school look

These Bluetooth headphones are modern with technology but look old school. Covered in vinyl they’re much smaller than the old style headphones. I have a small head & always had problems with the old style slipping down but these are adjustable and actually fit quite snug. The ear cushions are comfortable too & also removable. They fold up nicely for storage. I connected them right away with my iPod & no app is necessary. The sound is good too, actually better than I expected but the range is what impressed me. My house sits on over a half acre & I left the iPod in the house & walked to almost the edge of my backyard & still was connected without any breaking up whatsoever. Another user can plug in too. Charge lasts a long time & is by usb. You can also listen while plugged in with a provided cable that also has a microphone. The one flaw is that there isn’t any customizing for bass, treble, etc. other than that they’re great

A Little Hard On the Ears

I was very excited to receive these headphones. Marshall is a well-known and respected brand in portable audio. First, the good: Sharp looking set of cans. They have this cool retro look with leather (or at least it looks like leather) cups and band. The backside of the transducer has the same material on it with the cool Marshall insignia. Comes with optional wired connector in case battery runs low. I preferred the sound utilizing bluetooth (I'll discuss that more later), and while I have never run low on battery, it is nice to have the option to connect straight to the phone with a cable that also has a microphone and buttons. Someone else can connect their wired headphones to the Marshall Major III's and listen to what you are listening to. This was a really cool function. Not sure how much I'd use it in real life, but I did test it out with my kids and we shared sound while watching some Youtube videos. Battery life is insane. To test battery life, I left these on and connected to my Samsung Galaxy S10 5G phone all night long at the highest volume. Still had 60 percent battery left on the cans in the morning. I've never had a set of bluetooth headphones last so long. Now, the not so good: The sound, whether wired or wireless, was, for lack of better words, harsh. I experienced listening fatigue within a few minutes of listening to artists such as Chevelle, Metallica, and Tool. Thinking it was just the genre, I tried Fleetwood Mac and some smooth jazz artists. For whatever reason, these cans are tilted toward the high-midrange and with any kind of volume at all they become difficult to listen to for long periods of time. If I had to describe the sound, I'd call it thin and harsh. Bluetooth was better than wired, as it tamed the highs a little. Mid-bass was pleasant, but these definitely were thin in the bass department. Compared to a few other brands of bluetooth headphones that I have, these left me wanting for better sound. Volume. They don't get loud without getting harsh. I found that I had to turn these up to their loudest volume with my Samsung or one notch below to get them to the right decibels for my ear. I found that the louder they got, the harsher they sounded. The volume wasn't very high at max, and when it was at max the sound was very fatiguing with the emphasis on the higher frequencies. Some other notes: These are on the ear headphones, and as such they will be inclined to place pressure on your ears. So much so that mine began to ache a little after an hour of listening. That's par for the course for on the ear cans, so I'm not going to dwell much on that. Finally, these headphones have just one knob that is used for controls. The manual gives you an idea of what you do with the knob (it can click forwards, backwards, up and down, etc) to advance tracks or change the volume. I found it a little confusing after using other headphones that have several buttons that can be used to control them. Here's how I would rate these: Battery: 5 Stars Looks: 4 Stars Features: 4 Stars Sound: 2.5 Stars Volume: 3 Stars All in all, I'd rate these as an average pair of bluetooth headphones, at 3.7 stars (I rounded up to 4 stars for the Best Buy review). I would not recommend these headphones to a friend. Just too harsh and thin sounding, and not enough volume.

The Marshall Major III are bluetooth headphones from Marshall with an interesting set of features. I have a set from another brand which I typically use for the gym. These headphones more or less live in my car and get charged about once a month when the battery runs out. So feature-wise, I prioritize comfort, long battery life, and bluetooth audio quality. These are pretty minimal in the way of connectors and buttons which matches up with the aesthetic I've grown to expect from Marshall. 3.5mm audio, usb micro charging, and a button control. Unboxing these, you're presented with a sleek, relatively lightweight package. The earcups are a cool rounded rectangular shape. I can tell immediately that these while worn over the ear, won't actually encapsulate my ear, just sit on the outside. Wearing them however and listening to music allayed my concerns about exterior noise blocking. It does a decent job for something that is not noise canceling. Audio quality is pretty good, on par with my other headset as this supports AptX. It does look a bit fancier than one typically sees in the gym so I'm still deciding how I feel about that and whether I will continue using it for workout purposes. Despite the relatively lightweight, it does seem to squeeze a bit more when adjusted properly. While this is ok for listening while working on my computer for a couple hours time, it got a bit annoying when working out. I also cut that a bit short as I got a bit worried about how well it will handle sweat. The interface on this is pretty cool, a single button. But you can press it (or long press it) play/pause/pair, then push it up and down (volume), left or right (skip forward and backwards). No NFC built-in so you will need to do the normal bluetooth pairing. It does have a 3.5mm audio so you can use it as a wired headset. I normally don't bother testing this part of bluetooth headphones as I tend to exclusively use them wirelessly. But wanting to be thorough for this review, I did. And as it turns out, the headphones were paired to my phone while I connected this to my stereo (phones are losing their 3.5mm audio connector you know). So, imagine my surprise to find that I could hear both sources. Looking at the box, I discovered that you can actually share music to wired headphones from bluetooth. You wear the headphones listening to a bluetooth source and daisy chain to someone else over the wired connection - cool! I tested these over the course of a couple days. Not continuous listening but for a good amount of time each. Still plenty of battery life left. I've not run things long enough to fully confirm the 30 hour rated life, but I'd say this is definitely in that ballpark and if not for the Marshall look and faux leather, could be a replacement gym set. As it is, I'm quite motivated to take better care so it will likely end up seeing reduced usage by always living at my work desk. Then my gym set becomes 100% gym only and I no longer have the issue where I randomly reach into my backseat upon arriving at the gym only to discover I left my headset elsewhere. Even though this is not as whiz bang featured as some other bluetooth headphones, I'm quite impressed. Pretty good sound quality, great battery life, simple uncomplicated interface makes a big difference. I'm not sure I'd ever have a use for the audio sharing feature - maybe on an airplane trip, but this accomplishes its job and does it with style and verve! I need to play around with the fit a bit more, but other than that I'm quite happy with the Marshall Major III.

Marshall Major III Bluetooth Headphones Bluetooth on ear headphones. Very well made with a solid feel and comfortable to use. These headphones have metal parts as well as plastic ones. Almost all other headphones in this price range are made completely of plastic. I am impressed with how well these headphones are made. They also work as a headset for your phone with a built-in mic. Functionality is very nice with easy to use and understand controls. Let me add a note to that, when I say controls, I mean control, singular, they have 1 button. It is a physical button, easy for your fingers to find and work. I am very impressed with how easy to use these are. I have better sounding Bluetooth headphones that are over the ear, but these will replace those for everyday use. The ease of use with the well though out control makes them my go to for standard use headphones. They are not noise canceling and have no wet environment rating. They have simple tones for on and off, as well as an LED to indicate on/off/Bluetooth pairing/charging. They come with a coiled headphone cord that is 4’ in length and can extend to 6’ if you pull on the coil. This cord has a mic in it as well and can allow the headphones to work as a set of standard headphones/headset for your phone. The mic on the cord has a single button on it for handling phone calls, it can also bring up your voice assistant. The 3.5mm jack on the headphones can be used to share what your listening to with someone else. You must be using them in Bluetooth mode for this to work. They come with a 40” charging cord but no wall charger. The sound these headphones create is clean for the most part. At normal levels everything is great. At high volume levels the bass starts to break up at 25hz. On the high end they work well up to 12khz, then drop off quite a bit. At 14khz the sound seems to be completely gone and returns around 16khz. This actually is shown on their box, so I do not believe they are trying to fool anyone. They use aptX compression for Bluetooth music. That’s nice but finding a device that will use it as well may be a bit harder. My phone says it does but there was no indication that it was doing it. On my phone it shows a battery level indicator. After about 10 hours of use the battery level stated 50%. I tend to listen at higher levels so that could be affecting the battery life. I also have no way to know if it states the battery level accurately. Although I could pair them with any device I wanted, they only stayed paired to one item at a time. If I wanted to use them on a different device, I had to re-pair them to that device. I have other headphones that will pair to 3 devices at one time, no need to re-pair. I’m not completely sure if I was doing something wrong or if they truly can only be paired to 1 device at a time. This is not a big deal for 99% of users. Using them as a headset for my phone was very pleasing. Clear voices at both ends. My bottom line is, for the price you can’t go wrong. The ease of the control makes them worth every penny.

Marshall lives up to its name with the Major III. These wireless on-ear headphones provide amazing sound and battery life that will let you rock out all day! What you get:: The Major III come with a detachable aux cord that feels high quality and a USB cord for charging. Other than that you get the headphones, no case comes with these, which is somewhat of a bummer. Fit:: The ear cups on the Major III are fairly comfortable. I wore them for a few hours and my ears felt pretty good. There was some soreness after long listening session but, nothing worse than any other headphones though. The adjusting bar is a little hard to operate but they do slide to fit most size heads. Listening:: Short answer, they sound great. The Marshalls are clear and plenty loud. The bass isn't crazy like some other brand but, I think they are well balanced and provide a sound that works pretty well in the mid and high range. Bluetooth:: The Bluetooth works great, never had any problems with connecting to my phone. Battery life:: It's great. Lasts for several hours. I was able to listen on and off for a full workday and still had lots left over. Overall:: If you're looking for a stylish pair of great sounding headphones with good battery life, these are a great pick.

I will try and keep this simple. Buy them! Ok, well, maybe I should say a little more about them. Buy them now! ;-) In all seriousness, these are probably the best pair of headphones I have ever owned (and I have a bunch). Marshall is of course known for top quality speakers. There headphones are no different. Everything from the sound, materials, build quality and even the packaging is top notch! The fit is outstanding. They are incredibly comfortable. Wearing these for hours on end is not going to be an issue. Everything about the materials just feels premium. I love the one button control. Super easy to figure out. Even the included cables (charging cable and 3.5mm cable) feel a step above what anyone else provides. The sound is simply amazing. The best way to describe it is "clean". Incredible bass and beautiful highs. Neither seems to be fighting against the other. Just beautifully balanced. I might ad that the call quality (both receiving and sending) are just as excellent. And with 30+ hours of battery life, you should be able to go days on end without needing a charge. When you factor all of this in and compare it to the price, I honestly don't think there is a better buy out there for a top end set of headphones for such a low price. Highly recommended!

I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the Marshall Major III Bluetooth headphones. Marshall managed to check the majority of the boxes in terms of what I am looking for in a set of headphones. I'm sure that spending the last 50 years producing rock-concert grade amplifiers played a major role in this (no pun intended). Sound: This is the most important aspect when it comes to audio equipment, hands down. To me, none of the other features make much of a difference if they don't sound good. This is not a concern with the Major III headphones. They sound great; decent bass, strong mids, and clear treble at any volume. Even when turned all the way up, there is not even a hint of distortion. I listened to a bunch of different types of music with the Major IIIs and they were more than capable of handling anything I could throw at them. Rock music sounds amazing whether it be classic, modern, alternative, or metal. Pop and electronic music sounded very good as well. The Major IIIs even did a good job with rap music. They were able to reproduce a surprising range of frequencies with the only exception being extremely low ones that would honestly require a subwoofer to be able to hear. And while they are not technically noise-cancelling, they do block out the majority of outside noise especially at higher volumes. My only real complaint is that I wish that the loudest these headphones would go was a just a bit louder. Personally, I believe that maximum volume should be reserved for short-term use like rocking out to your favorite tunes. And right after the song ends, you should have to ask yourself if you actually needed to have the volume that high. Plus these are made by Marshall, the first choice for many rock bands. Well unlike Spinal Tap's amplifiers, these headphones do not go to 11. Don't get me wrong, they do put out an impressive amount of sound, especially since they are wireless. It's just not a regrettable amount. Battery life: To put it bluntly, it is PHENOMENAL. At the time of this writing, I have had these headphones for about 3 weeks and during that period I've accumulated around 24 hours worth of total playtime. I fully charged these headphones the day I got them and have not charged them a single time since. And yet, they still show 80% battery remaining when connected to my cell phone. It is also worth mentioning that I've gotten this sort of battery life even while using them at 80% volume or above every time I put them on. I have never owned a set of headphones that offered anywhere even close to the battery life that the Major IIIs provide. I'll admit that I was skeptical of their "30 hours on a single charge" claim at first but not anymore. If anything, they're probably short-changing themselves by only claiming that. Use and comfort: These headphones are very comfortable to wear for extended periods, once you get them correctly adjusted to your head. Since these are on-ear headphones and not over-ear, I struggled to find that correct position as the Major IIIs rest right on my glasses. Also, after wearing them for about 45 minutes straight, I noticed that they tend to make my ears sweaty. Neither of these are deal breakers and may be issues only I have but I felt that they were worth mentioning. As for use, operating these headphones could not be simpler. The headphones quickly connected to both my phone and my laptop without issue or hesitation. Their Bluetooth range is also impressive; I've been over 20 feet away and in another room without having the audio cut out or skip. There is a bit of a learning curve with the single brass joystick control, mainly remembering what direction does what. Besides that, the joystick works fantastically and I prefer it to other control interfaces. Mostly because I don't accidentally issue the wrong command like I occasionally do with my other Bluetooth headphones. At the same time, the joystick feels robust and each action results in a satisfying click confirming your command. Other features: The Major IIIs come with a charging cable and a detachable 3.5mm cable with microphone with remote. This means that they can be used as wired headphones in the event that you somehow manage to use up all of the battery power. When I tried them out using the cable, they sounded just as good as they do when used wirelessly. A unique feature of these headphones is that you can plug another set of headphones into the 3.5mm jack. This allows you to share your music with a friend using a single Bluetooth connection. I also tested this feature out and was impressed with the results. Both sets of headphones would put out plenty of volume without sacrificing audio quality. That being said, I would imagine that using this feature would drain the battery at a much faster rate. However, I did not use them like this long enough to say this for certain. One last thing worth mentioning is the package. The Major IIIs come in a sturdy feeling cardboard box that holds the headphones nicely without taking up too much space. Personally, I've been using the original packaging as a carrying case when I take them on the go with me. The Marshall Major III wireless headphones are not the loudest headphones I've ever owned nor are they the easiest for me to get comfy with. However, their impressive clarity, good control interface, and unmatched battery life make them the pair I reach for the most often. Plus they have more features than I have had a chance to properly appreciate. I'm giving these headphones 5 stars because 4.5 isn't a choice but they are better than just 4 stars. I do not believe you will be disappointed if you decide to try these out for yourself.

What you will find in the box: Earphones, 3.5 mm cord, microUSB cord and user manual. SET UP Step #1: Hold down the control knob on the left rear side of the ear cup for 5 seconds, until the LED light blinks blue on the right side ear cup. Step #2: Choose “Major III Bluetooth” from the Bluetooth setting on your phone or computer. Step #3: Press play and enjoy your music. It’s that simple. FEATURES The icon “Marshall” Logo is on the outside of each ear cup and you automatically know that quality has gone into them because Marshall is noted for its sound quality in all the equipment they make. A single gold toned multi-directional knob is on the left ear cup and with this you can play, pause, shuffle, adjust volume and power on/off your device. You can also use this knob for phone functionality, answer, reject or end phone calls. It has 2 passive noise reduction built-in microphones so you never have to touch your device. They are adjustable for your comfort. However, the cups seem smaller than the average cup sizes. I just wish they were a little bigger, although my daughter finds them the right size for her. On the right ear cup there is a 3.5 mm input that is great for sharing music with a friend or to plug into your smartphone for easy listening. There is also a microUSB cable for charging when the battery is getting low. You get approximately 30 hours of listening time on a single charge. You might want to keep the diagram of the things you can do with the knob handy because there are so many different uses of the knob…at least until you get used to all the commands…or just use your phone for controls until you get used to the knob. The earphones are collapsible for easy storage and carrying. SOUND The sound is so amazing that you do not even need an equalizer. Before listening to the music, I wondered how you used the equalizer for these. You DON’T need them. The bass is AMAZING. The treble is perfect. Don’t ask me how they did this. You really need to listen to music on these to believe the perfect sound coming out of them. I debated on giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the ear cups being a bit too small for my comfort. Once I listened to the music, I realized this is actually the best pair of earphones I have come across and would have given 10 stars if they were more comfortable for me.

Pros: Charges quickly Insanely long battery life Solid build quality and materials Easy to connect and use Sound quality Cons: Not comfortable for extended wear Smelled horrible I'm impressed with how solid the build quality is on these headphones. They are heavy and feel nice although they did have a strong chemical odor at first. The metal attaching the ear pads is very thick as well. I was surprised with how fast they charged and how long it takes to drain the battery. There aren't a ton of buttons on these so setup and connection were quick and easy. I unfortunately can't wear these for an extended period of time as they just aren't as comfortable as my over the ear headphones I use daily. This is a personal preference in headphone style and may not bother anyone used to the on ear style. The sound quality is comparable to my more expensive over the ear pair which was a pleasant experience. I was able to listen to several styles of music, TV, movies and podcasts with no issue with sound quality or clarity. I did notice I have to turn the sound up a touch higher than I do with other headphones but that may be due to the style again. I think these are a great price for the quality if this style is comfortable for you.
