When this arrived I didn't expect a whole lot based on the size alone - boy was I wrong! It's a square, each side a little longer than the length of a dollar bill. A lot of attention went into the detail of the finish - very nice! Controls are easy - a Bluetooth pairing button, volume, bass and treble. When my unit arrived the battery was stone cold dead - but maybe 5 minutes on the USB-C connection and it fired right up.. I started with some AC/DC since they always bring a good mix of bass and treble. I was shocked when the bass was strong enough to show me that the surface I put the speaker on wasn't level and the bass caused it to rock and fall over :-) Shockingly good sound comes out of this little speaker! Definitely good for a small room - very very FULL sound, crisp, clean, without being overly bassy. Worth checking out if you're looking for something that puts out good sound and is portable (20 hours play time on battery)

Absolutely amazing portable Bluetooth speaker with amazing sound quality and extremely loud-especially for its size. Battery life is amazing as well. There’s also 3 adjustable dials on top for bass/treble/volume so you can tailor the sound to whatever you’re listening to. It’s also great for a party or gathering due to the fact it has 360° sound with speakers on both sides. Also has powerful bass. You can even use it as a portable battery to charge devices from. It’s made of high quality materials as well, very well built and sturdy. I also like the fact that Marshall is playing into their legacy with the design of this speaker looking like a guitar amp. It’s also got a nice detachable carrying strap as well. This is an absolute steal at its price as well. I cannot say enough good things about it.

When I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker I wanted something that was compact, with some good kick, and looked decent. This is definitely it. There were several tiers of this particular model, all of which I'm sure sound fantastic, but this one fit my budget, the space I use it, and what I was looking for as far as sound. It's a highly versatile unit that can be used in many different settings, gym, garage, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. One of the coolest features is that the sound comes from both the front and the back which creates an incredibly full sound quality for the room. Great battery life, aesthetically very pleasing, and the red velvet handle is just the icing on the cake - not overly necessary, but hey, it's pretty cool I would highly recomend!

Survived the Night in the Rain

PROS • Survived the night in the rain, powered up the next morning unscathed and continues to have stellar performance to date. • Bluetooth pairing is superior to any portable speaker I've used. It not only switches between multiple devices flawlessly, it picked up when I switched from playing Spotify on my laptop to my iPhone app without interrupting the song. • Sound is rich, bass is deep, treble is clear. Adjustment knobs are much easier to adjust and by golly they're fun. • Dual-sided speaker lets you place it anywhere in the room with quality sound going in all directions. Of course the bass will expand better when placed against joining walls, as true with all speakers, but it's surprisingly robust just sitting on the coffee table too. • The battery life is fantastic and recharges quickly with just a USB. No more lugging around a brick power cord. • Has auto shut-off (+plays a guitar riff when shutting off, a really cool detail from Marshall) • Guitar strap handle, classic Marshall design, and super durable build makes the price tag worth it. It has that ruggedness that makes it truly portable and vacation-proof, without compromising style. CONS • The lower volume settings are somewhat arbitrary in that they're slow-building and stay pretty low from 0-5, which fine for the desk or a small room. Thankfully, it's plenty loud, and builds exponentially from 6-10 for outdoors and larger spaces. • The bass adjustment allows for range, but does not soften the vibration as much as I'd like. Not a deal breaker as I'd rather not sacrifice good bass quality.

Music is really important to me, so I did a lot of research before choosing the Marshall Stockwell II. High quality sound was my top priority in selecting which portable speaker to buy, followed by ease of portability and simplicity of use. I’m extremely satisfied with it - it may be a bit pricey for some people but the sound is outstanding and the design is very simple while still allowing for adjustments of treble and bass. So to me, it was well worth it. I also love the retro look but that wasn’t a factor in my purchase decision. My only complaint about the speaker is that sometimes, even at top volume, it’s not quite loud enough! But I’m sure my neighbors appreciate that.

I love my Marshall Stanmore home speaker, so I decided to try a portable version. I use this in my vintage truck instead of a car stereo. While driving, it sits nicely on the dash where the AM speaker would normally be, and when I camping I can bring it into the shell in the back. It's perfect for these purposes, except on the highway, where an old truck with the windows down is pretty loud. PROS: Good rich sound, amazing bass for the size, solid build quality, feels high-end overall. The battery lasts forever, even when you're cranking it. CONS: You have to crank it all the time. As some other reviews have noted the volume range is 7-10 and the first half of the dial is not usable. While this speaker has great sound, it really should go a little louder "to 11" but it stops at ten. The Bluetooth is finicky, and my iPhone frequently forces me to forget the Stockwell and discover it all over again to pair it, and sometimes this takes a while. Minor quibble, but it's annoying esp. if people are waiting on you to start the music. It's not a party speaker but fine for small gatherings, backyard BBQs and campsites. Overall the pros far outweigh the two main cons, and I wanted a Marshall speaker so I'm happy, but if you are shopping for speakers by their price or features you may want to take them into consideration.

Very sophisticated looking speaker. Definitely catches the eye. It sounds very good. Instruments and vocals can be heard clear, and with good deep bass. It is light and very portable. It just doesn't get very loud. It barely fills a room with sound at full volume. They should have made it just a bit louder. For this reason I chose the kilburn 2 instead.

This is the best speaker ever. You can have full freedom on how much bass you want to feel! I love the double sided speaker where you can hear the audio so clearly in every angle. This thing feels durable and I know it’s going to last. Great product and design from Marshalls!

Huge fan of the Marshall amp and stacks back in the day. This little speaker has great sound, it's small so doesn't hit deep rumbling lows but nor should it expect to! Crystal clear, decent low bass response, easy connection with iphone and excellent battery life. Plus, it just looks cool. Highly recommend

This things got power! For our usage this things got plenty of juice, lasts a long time and sounds incredible!! The build quality is perfect and very high quality. We also have the Marshall stanmore II and this lil thing is great when you don’t need all the power of the Marshall. Plus it’s portable!

The sound quality is good but I wish it would get louder. On the volume dial, 1 plays no sound and 2 and 3 barely plays any sound. So you end up with volume controls from 4-10. Some devices that it connects to can't control the volume of the speakers. I believe it may be due to the fact that volume is controlled by a dial. Not sure. Bluetooth disconnects every once in a while if I have two devices paired. There are a couple of annoyances but I still love the speakers for the sound quality and portability. I thinks it's a pretty good value

For the size, it packs some sound! I was worried that it wasn't going to sound good but it sounds great! Love the portability and the lightweightness, also battery life is awesome. I can have it on at work for a full 8 HR shift and still have 30-40% left. And even if it were low, 15 min charge gets you 3 hours.

Bought this speaker for my boyfriend on an impromptu "let's have a movie night int he backyard" whim. It was the one he wanted, and we are of the opinion that for an item you want to use often, it's worth it to spend the money for quality. So even though there are far less expensive bluetooth speakers that don't look cute or say Marshall on them, we're glad we spent the extra money on this one. The battery charge lasts FOREVER. The bluetooth range is GREAT. The volume and sound quality are exceptional for an item that size. Build quality and finish is top notch. We use this in the backyard, in the kitchen, in the garage to work on motorcycles, in the basement to work on bicycles....and on campouts and cabin trips up in NEPA.
