Bought this along with another small portable speaker and the othet get to stay.
This is a very cool looking speaker unfortunately its looks did nkt win me over regarding it just nit being loud enough.
Hi Kendrick, thanks for your review and feedback. For more volume, we recommend checking out the Emberton III or Middleton speaker. These are larger speakers which means they have larger components and are capable of more output.

not loud enough- cell phone conversation over bluetooth with volume all the way up way to ok quiet it's ashame
buttons should be much bigger and raised up to make it verg easy to use them. If you don't know how to design speaker just call me. come on- It's 2025
Hi Dariusz, Thank you for your feedback and for trying the Willen II. Have you considered any of the larger models that will produce louder volume and have the knobs on them for volume, treble and bass controls?

Every technology company today seems to have some sort of Bluetooth speaker where I`ve used speakers from Sonos, Bose, Ultimate Ears, JBL, and Sony to which the more prominent speakers seem to have a feature that sets them apart to which the Witten II has a few that set it apart from the sea of other Bluetooth speakers.
First, right out of the box is one of those key features as the look and aesthetics of this speaker are absolutely top notch as it plays on the iconic Marshall design as even non-musical enthusiasts are familiar with the Marshall amp. This does not go to say that Marshall put build quality aside as this speaker has everything you could ask for from the extended rubber enclosure on the front to help protect the grille from drops to an IP67 rating where it is dust and waterproof resistant being able to submerge the speaker in three feet of water for 30 minutes.
The compact nature of the speaker also sets this speaker apart for me as speakers anymore seem to put a focus on a booming sound which can be great, but the portability aspect suffers to which the portability component here is top notch from any portable speaker I have tested. Not only does it have a small form factor that fits easily in your hand and is manageable on the go, but the rubber fastening strap on the back is an absolute game changer!! The reason here is that it keeps the speaker secure to whatever it is attached to. Yea, other speakers may have a strap or handle that the speaker dangles from but then when you are moving it is swaying or moving all over the place. With the rubber strap here it can be attached to bikes, strollers, golf carts, etc with a fixed sound and not the sound going in and out as the speaker sways when moving like the speakers of its competitors.
The other various features of this speaker are right on par with its higher end competitors as the USB-C charging, built in microphone, and 17 hours of playtime are all perfect features to incorporate. I do want to highlight the ease of use here though as the speaker is the perfect fit of simplicity and features as on the speaker it has simply a power button, Bluetooth button, and control knob on the front for playback (which I will say again from an aesthetic standpoint is a great way to hide the playback buttons while at the same time allowing easy use). However, the battery indication light is a great feature to have as the speakers with just a low battery light are not helpful for knowing the battery status in increments of 20% (5 lights on the speaker) is helpful when on the go to know actually if I need to charge the device or not. The other feature I always find enjoyable is that when powering on you get the electric guitar sound which is just a small touch Marshall added in here that shows they thought of every little thing with this speaker.
I do have to mention the app here as everything has an app nowadays, but Marshall did a great job keeping it simple as the app allows you to change the EQ settings (Push - boosted bass, Voice - midrange clarity, and Marshall - their "fine tuned" optimal range) and some battery preservation features that you can toggle on if you wish. So overall fairly standard, but again the ease of use here is great as Marshall seemed to not want to go too tech heavy from a usability standpoint which is a breath of fresh air from a tech product.
Onto the actual sound quality though as I`ve glowed about the portability and aesthetics you can tell that is where Marshall retained their focus on this product though the sound quality does not suffer as it is fairly on par with other Bluetooth speakers. Being a more compact speaker though don`t expect booming party sound though it is perfect for that more personal listening with a couple friends close by. Again, the eq presets allow you to modify the sound to your liking so for me this checked the sound box perfectly.
Overall, this has been my go to speaker when out and about over the other more prominent names in the Bluetooth speaker space simply due to the fact that Marshall has absolutely nailed the portability aspect here! The aesthetics give it that high end refined look that you don`t mind being seen in public with versus a long tube speaker with bright vivid colors. The sound quality is exactly what you need for portable listening and thus if you are looking for a speaker for an active lifestyle this is definitely the one I would recommend.

Marshall may be well known for their amps, but did you know they make some pretty awesome Bluetooth speakers? Well, they do!
Right away you will notice the VERY solid feel and excellent build quality. Absolutely NO part of this Willen II feels cheap or flimsy. This is a premium build and just holding this in your hand solidifies that statement. Not only is it well made but man the aesthetics are beyond pleasing. The black and brass just produce a look that is elegant with a hint of "old school" vibe. The attention to detail is noticeable. Even powering on the speaker plays a guitar riff with that traditional Marshall sound. More on the audio later.
Setup is incredibly easy. I paired this with an iPhone 15 Max and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Both connected right away and have had no dropped connections. You can literally be playing music in under two minutes.
The associated app isn't necessarily the most robust but does allow for some control over all your Marshall Bluetooth speakers. There are three equalizer presets - Marshall, Push, and Voice. Marshall, which is by far my favorite, provides the traditional Marshall sound loved by many. Push has increased bass and treble, while Voice is designed for more voice centric audio such as audiobooks and videos. I did not see any way to personalize the equalizer which is something to consider if that is important to you. There is a battery preservation adjustment to help expand the life of the battery and an "about" section that will tell you the serial number and firmware version of each speaker. The speaker's battery percentage is displayed alongside the name and picture of the speaker. Lastly, while playing music the artist and song title can be displayed in the app, along with the ability to adjust the volume and play/pause/rewind/skip.
The battery seems to last forever. I've played multiple hours of music for several days in a row and still have 71% battery life remaining off my original charge - which is done via USB-C by the way.
On the speaker itself you have a power button and pairing button located on the top. Additionally, you have a 5 bar LED light indicator for the battery level. On the front facing speaker there is a manual toggle that can be used for play/pause/skip/rewind/answer/hangup. On the rear of the speaker is a strap that can be used to attach the speaker to just about anything you can think of - handlebars, fencing, mirror, car door, etc. With the waterproof rating this is a truly portable speaker that can be taken just about anywhere.
Last but definitely not least is the audio quality. I am a HUGE fan of the Marshall signature sound. The other presets are great in their own right, but I rarely move away from the Marshall preset. This speaker gets really loud as well and whether listening at lower indoor volumes or louder outdoor party type volumes, the audio is on point. No degraded sounds and clear sound production all the way around.
I really enjoy listening to my music through this Marshall Willen II. Do yourself a favor and make the purchase. I don't think you'll find yourself anything but happy you did!

I got my Marshall Willen II Bluetooth Speaker about a week ago and have been using it pretty regularly since. I used to play guitar and loved Marshall amps, the aesthetic of this speaker really plays into the iconic amplifier look. First impressions are strong with not only the look but also the feel of the speaker. It really feels like something that could take a fall and keep on working. It feels intended for outdoor use. Initial set up with the app was very quick and easy. It was also quickly charged up and paired to my phone. The strap on the back is nice as well. We attached it to a branch on out first outdoor excursion to test it out. One little fun feature for this speaker is little guitar rift it plays when it is turned off and on. This is a cool little touch that I really like.
Once we were all set we ventured out on a little walk to give it a full test. Once we got to our spot we used the strap to attach it to a nearby branch and started off with some Pink Floyd tunes. Initial response is good. Not sure if I would say great sound, but very solid. The bass is surprisingly good for a single small speaker like this. The high pitched sounds did not always great to me. Not terrible, but not as crisp as some speakers I’ve used. Overall I would say the sound is pretty good. There are 3 different sound settings available on the app. One provides even more base, a really impressive amount for such a small speaker. The other cleaned up the high tones at the cost of the lower tones. This setting seems ideal for podcasts. Overall though for being such a small speaker the sound is excellent. The speaker is also dust and waterproof and combined with the solid feel of the speaker overall I feel very comfortable using this as my outdoor and travel speaker. There is a nice little joystick like button that has a simple yet great design. Quickly jump forward or back thru the tracks you are listening to or easily adjust volume up and down. The battery life is excellent as well. They claim 17 hours and that feels about right.
All in all I am very happy with this speaker. Good sound in a very small and durable feeling case with a decent app and a great overall look with impressive battery life. I have to say this is a solid 5* device. If I knew someone looking for a small good sounding speaker that is durable with good batter life, I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

I love Marshall audio products and have owned several portable Bluetooth speakers (small, medium and large sizes), a headphone and my son begged for years for a Marshall guitar amp, which he loves. I love the innovation that Marshall is taking to all product lines and the Willin II is an update to the original Willin.
Good things come in small packages and the Willin II does not disappoint. The attention to the smallest detail is evident.
Pairing was a breeze. Download the Marshall app to your smartphone or tablet and pair the two by following the onscreen prompts. Once connected you can get down to business. I fired up my favorite music streaming app and hit play and the sound coming from the Willin II is great. Very clear and with the equalizer presets you can get the sound quality that fits best what you are listening to. Either the standard Marshall EQ, or you can set to Push which punches up the bass and treble or Voice EQ which focuses more on getting a clearer vocal.
The joystick control is very intuitive. Push to play/pause, up and down for volume up/down, left and right for play last or next.
The top sports a bar graph for battery life and a great feature is the quick release rubber strap for easy attaching to a backpack rather than the other brand solutions of carabiners or loop straps. The implementation makes it easier to control how the speaker faces instead of loosely flopping around it stays firm.
So far my only gripe is there is no user customizable EQ settings. You are stuck with the 3 presets. You can always use your smart device's EQ (if your streaming app supports it) but it would be nice if the Marshall app allowed you to fine tune to your desired settings.
So, a strong B+ or maybe an A- for these speakers and really for me it just comes down to not being able to fine tune my EQ... I suffer from tinnitus and moderate to severe hearing loss so some frequencies don't sound right if I can hear them at all so using a full functioning equalizer allows me to fine tune to punch out of my dead zones. But in the end the Willin II performs amazingly and perfect for those on the go.

I recently got my hands on the Marshall portable Bluetooth speaker, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in many ways. This speaker is a perfect blend of style and functionality, making it a great addition to any music lover's collection.
First off, the design is sleek and compact, making it incredibly easy to carry around. Despite its small size, the build quality is impressive. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, which gives me confidence in its durability.
When it comes to sound quality, the Marshall speaker truly shines. The clarity of the sound is remarkable, delivering crisp and clear audio that enhances the listening experience. While it may not have the booming volume and deep bass that some larger speakers offer, it still provides a solid and enjoyable sound. This makes it perfect for personal use or small gatherings where you don't need overwhelming volume.
One of the standout features of this speaker is its Bluetooth connectivity. Pairing it with my devices was a breeze, and the connection remains stable even at a distance. The setup process was incredibly simple, taking just a few moments to get everything up and running.
Battery life is another area where this speaker excels. It holds a charge for hours on end, allowing for extended listening sessions without the need to constantly recharge. This is particularly convenient for outdoor activities or when you're on the go.
Overall, the Marshall portable Bluetooth speaker is an amazing piece of technology. It combines a sleek design, solid build quality, and impressive sound clarity into a compact package. While it may not be the loudest speaker on the market, its ease of use, reliable Bluetooth connection, and long battery life make it a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a high-quality portable speaker. I highly recommend it!

The Marshall - Willen II Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a very handy, high-quality, and durable Bluetooth speaker. Despite its compact size (it is only about 4 inches wide by 4 inches tall by less than 2 inches deep), it has amazing sound quality and power I was not expecting although I should have known better given that this device is a Marshall branded product.
With 17+ hours of portable playtime, this Marshall – Willen II speaker has very impressive battery life. The fact that the battery can quickly be topped-up to about 5.5 hours of playtime with only a 20 minute charge is equally impressive although I doubt I will ever be in a position where the 17+ hours of playtime at once is ever not enough.
Another thing that is very impressive about this Willen II speaker is how durable it is. It is designed to be dust and waterproof (IP67 rating meaning it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes). Considering how small and portable it is, durability is a very important factor and the Willen II certainly meets the minimum durability requirements I would expect from a speaker specifically designed for portability and use in various environments.
One other feature I really like is the built-in microphone. This allows the Bluetooth speaker to also be used to take calls hands-free which is convenient when you receive a call while already streaming music to the speaker.
The fastening strap really comes in handy as well since it makes it easy to strap it to my hiking pack when I’m out on hikes and want to have some music running in the background.
Overall, the Marshall - Willen II Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a durable, high-quality speaker and I highly recommend it!

From the moment I unboxed the new Marshall Willen 2 portable speaker, I could tell that this was something special. Aesthetically, it carries that signature Marshall styling with a leather-grain look rubber surround that gives it a rugged yet vintage look, paired with the iconic gold toggle switch that feels satisfying to use. It's incredibly compact, making it ideal for taking anywhere, but despite its small size, it feels like a high-quality, durable piece of gear. The included fastening strap is a nice touch too—perfect for securely attaching the speaker to a bag, bike, or wherever you want to bring your music.
The battery life is equally impressive. Marshall claims up to 17 hours, and I put it to the test by streaming music for an entire 12-hour work shift. By the end of the day, I still had nearly 50% battery life left, which is seriously impressive for such a small speaker. This means you can easily take it on a weekend trip without worrying about constantly recharging.
Now, onto the sound—which blew me away. For its size, the Willen 2 packs a full, robust sound that can easily fill a room. The bass is deep, and the mids and highs are clear, making it hard to believe all of this is coming from such a tiny portable speaker. Whether you’re at home, in the office, or out and about, the sound quality stays consistent and full, making it a perfect companion for any scenario.
This speaker has quickly become my favorite portable Bluetooth device. The combination of iconic design, portability, long battery life, and impressive sound quality makes the Marshall Willen 2 a standout in the crowded portable speaker market. Whether I’m working, riding, or just hanging out, this speaker delivers on all fronts.

This speaker may be small in size but powerful in sound. Built for portability, this speaker does it all. Pretty nice looking as well. I own a Willen I and the second version isn’t too much of a leap from the first. I like that the power button was moved from the gold button in the front to a dedicated power button on the top. The gold button is now used for music controls which I thought was a clever idea making navigation a lot easier. It still comes with the nice little strap the first version had that allows versatility in placement of the speaker. I can imagine a bike rider loving this feature because it would be easy to strap to a bike. Of course it being waterproof adds to how versatile the speaker is and how many different environments it can handle. I love the small size because you’re able to carry nearly everywhere. Don’t let the small size fool you. It’s actually powerful enough to handle a small gathering of friends. While it can handle a group, it can also handle being used as a speaker for work. This is where I use it the most. I use it for music and I use it for meetings. The sound is very clear and from what I can tell I can be heard very clearly. Battery life is only a few hours more than the first version but 17 hours is more than enough. I rarely charge it. Marshall also has an app that’s used in conjunction with the speaker. You can adjust your sound to your liking with the equalizer. Customize it by using the available presets too. Overall I love this little speaker. It definitely packs a punch. You will not be disappointed.

Hello friends and welcome to my review of the new Marshall Willen II . Let me begin by saying the packaging was on point, no way this unit will be damaged in shipping. Also the thought put into the boxing is great. Best buy double boxed this unit as well so no shipping issues at all. Upon opening the box you will find a quick start guide and the Willen 2 with a charging cable that is USB C.
Looking at the unit itself you will find that this unit is well made. The case looks like one of Marshalls large guitar amps. The screen over the speaker even looks like the classic amp grills. The difference is that this material is strong and can take a drop to the floor no problem. The case is also covered with Marshalls signature leather like material. This stuff is heavy duty and can take a lot of abuse. Also, Marshall decided to make the Willlen 2 a dust proof and water proof unit. That makes taking it along with you anywhere, not an issue.
Now how does it sound? Well let me tell you i really like the sound, because it is pure Marshall goodness. I don't know how they do it but this little guy sounds big and i mean big. Surprising due to how small it is. Bass is smooth and even. Mids are just right with a clear sound. And the highs are balanced well with everything else. I am very happy with how it sounds compared to the budget style units i have tried in the past. That had a thin sort of sound to them, due to poor speakers.
My favorite part of the Willen 2 is the strap on the back. I can put it on my belt and go. This leaves my hands free for other things and i always have my tunes with me sounding big! Do i recommend the Willen 2 ? OW yes!

I've got a number of small Bluetooth speakers and most are pretty good. However, the Marshall Willen II absolutely blew me away! As with other Marshall speakers & headphones that I have used, the build quality is excellent. I would go so far as to say the Marshall lineup (Willen II included) have the most premium build quality of any Bluetooth speakers. And on top of a premium build, the Willen II is both dust & waterproof. It is rated for complete submersion in water up to 3 feet deep for up to 30 minutes. I have no plans to dunk it in Lake Superior, but I have no fears about using it around water. I would say the rated battery life of 17 hours is easily on the conservative side. Pretty sure it can go longer but of course, how you use it has a lot to do with that. Now as for the sound, all I can say is WOW! This thing sounds better than speakers 3x the price and size. I am talking near studio quality sound out of a speaker that can fit in one hand. The clarity of the highs and the clean deep bass and clear vocals are simply better than I ever thought a speaker of this size could deliver. And it gets plenty loud. There is just not anywhere that I wouldn't be happy to use the Marshall Willen II.
