The Martin Logan 35XT bookshelf speakers are extremely accurate, sweet and capable of delivering in all frequency ranges. I selected the beautiful black cherry finish and am completely happy with the piano type finish. I'm amazed at the rich full sound it produces and excellent bass along with great midrange performance.

I have these speakers hooked up to a 25 year old McIntosh solid-state amp and pre-amp and they sound incredible. Matched with a sub to provide a little more bass. The high end is amazing and mid range is clear and precise. The build quality is impressive with great fit and beautiful wood finish. Highly recommend and definitely a great value for the price.

These are my second pair of Martin Logan speakers (actually my third--I have a pair of ML LX16s in my shop). I purchased a pair of Motion 15's and absolutely loved them. I wanted to upgrade from the $3300 Bose system we installed in our basement. The Bose just did not have good music sound. After listening to the ML 15s for a while, I got the thought that I wanted to try the 35XTs, because I figured they would probably have even better sound. So I purchased a pair of the cherry-finish 35XTs. For some background, I should note that for both sets of speakers, I can the Audyssey audio set up, to get them calibrated with my Martin Logan subwoofer (Dynamo 700) for the listening space. Both sets of speakers are fed by 14 ga wire, and the runs are 15 ft or less. My receiver is one of the better Denon ones. At first, I did not like the 35XTs as well as the Motion 15s. I was going to swap them back out for the M15s. I did not think the mid range, particularly the upper mid range was as clear as the M15s. However, I then remembered that these speakers need a break in period. So I left the 36Xts installed and played them for many hours--I needed to get the 35Xts broke in just as the M15s had been. I never went back and replaced the 35XTs. The sound is extraordinarily clear. I should note that I play most of my music through a Sony High Resolution player. A good (original) recording played through the Sony on the 35Xts is phenomenal. FYI: the Sony converts the source file (CD in my case) to a higher quality recording, in a similar manner (I imagine) as TVs upscale a1080P signal to a 4K signal. The feeling of "presence" (like the artist is right there in the room), with these speakers and the hi-res audio is incredible. Just for the record, I was too lazy to go back and reinstall the M15s and rerun the calibration to re-compare both speakers after break in, but I feel no need to. A friend of mine is a serious audio listener also, and he has raved about both sets of the ML speakers. As others have stated, I listened to B&W speakers for comparison prior to purchase, and to me, either ML speaker wins hands down over the comparable or even higher priced B&W speakers. If you can, go for it. I do not think you will be disappointed, but rather, amazed at the sound. I hope this was helpful to you.
