Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the fun, fast, and open gameplay of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, praising the enjoyable fighting mechanics and the selection of characters. However, some feel the game lacks sufficient content and that the character roster could be improved. The value for the price was also a point of contention for some customers.

Great for $40 bucks not for $60+

It's a good game, mainly because of its zany, complex and freestyle gameplay. Getting that out of the way, it's a mediocre product at least on day 1: the roster is mostly uninteresting/recycled, with tons of missing opportunities considering how many great characters they could have gone with from both sides. To make matters worse, interesting characters are indeed coming (with one of them being already done but left out for extra cash)...but for an additional fee. The graphics are disappointing not only because the art style is not flattering to half of the cast but it can also get quite straining for the eyes when any player activates an infinity stone and everything becomes tinted with a fluorescent color. Finally, single player content is severely lacking with a weak story and no arcade endings or any extra unlockable content to stimulate new playthroughs. Voice acting is WILDLY amateurish for most of the cast (with a few notable exceptions such as Chun Li or Dr Strange) and the absence of a japanese track really hurts the experience (just try listening to Morrigan or Spencer's accidentally hilarious "let's get this party started!"). HOWEVER, the gameplay IS completely revamped for the better and as long as you're willing to put the time and effort in learning the characters, you'll probably get a kick out of MvCI. I personally recommend waiting for a price drop; getting this game + the first 6 DLC characters for 60 bucks sounds more reasonable than what Capcom wants you to pay right now

    Good, Not Great

A good game, but could've been much better. While the gameplay itself is honestly super solid, there really isn't that much content outside of the Story mode. Sure, you can play through arcade mode, but unless you wanna unlock some extra colors (2 for each character), there isn't much incentive to do so since there aren't any character specific endings, just a "CONGRATULATIONS" screen right out of the old Smash Bros games. The roster is varied enough to be fun, but lacks a lot of the more colorful choices that made MvC3 fun for me like Amaterasu, Viewtiful Joe, and MODOK. The Infinity Stones are a pretty cool gimmick though, I just wish there were more ways to use them than just a replacement for 3's X-Factor and a single new move. Maybe in a few more years we'll see a "complete edition" that adds all the DLC (and there's gonna be a lot of DLC if the higher ups have their way) and will give you more bang for your buck. But right now I can't fully recommend this unless you want to play online, and even that I hear is pretty dead. Just play MvC3 until then, the games really aren't comparable, but there's far more content in 3.

The games story is fairly cool and brings us Sigma as a villain. The idea of combining Ultron and him imo was a really awesome move. Overall the game is much the same as the rest of the series except with power stones and less characters on a Team. Gameplay is very fast in this iteration. A Good game, but could stand more characters.

Given that this game has a majority of the returning cast of the previous game youd expect a great game. Not to say that this isn’t but it doesn’t feel as great as it could have been. It’s still very enjoyable though. These DLC money grabs need to stop though. If I’m buying a game for $80 I want a complete package! Not half a game that then requires the purchase of dlc to enjoy the full roster.

A disappointing downgrade of a great series

I'm a long time fan of the Marvel vs Capcom series. My experience with the Marvel fighting game series dates all the way back to Marvel Super Heroes. If anyone should have been hype for this game it's me. Sadly this game was a disappointment in a number of ways. Graphically, the game looks pretty bad. Character models range from average to downright ugly. The roster of MvC games is always one of the main draws, and the roster for this game is not only disappointingly small, but some of the selections are very questionable. No doubts this was done so Capcom could cash in on DLC, which is a bit infuriating. MvC:I features an all new fighting engine/system, which allows for a lot of creativity. You can tag in your partner at almost any time, which really allows for combos and setups that were not possible in any previous installment. It can make for some exciting gameplay, and is a breath of fresh air into the series. Despite that, the game is an overall disappointment. I can't help but feel this game is a test run for the proper sequel that we HOPE we'll get one day.

This is probably the best Marvel vs Capcom game in the series so far, with some of the deepest and most fun gameplay. The issues with the graphics are incredibly overblown; most characters in story mode look a little awkward, since it's obvious they were rigged to look good in their battle animations moreso than anything they do in the story.

    A New Age in Marvel

It's a new age for Marvel, maybe even taking it back a step from MvC3. It's a 2v2 system now with Infinity Stones as a power-up. I'm not too happy with the character line up, I miss old favorites like the X-Mens, but the new characters are a breath of fresh air. Once they patch the infinite combos in the game it will be much better.

I was unfortunately not a huge fan of this game, the gameplay is solid but the roster and graphics leave a lot to be desired, I'm not much of a graphics person but it is a bit offensive that this game looks worse than it's 10 years old prequel...

Games's decent but still lacks some of the major characters from the X-Men series, on the side note the downloadable characters looks really interesting to play with once they come out, all in all would recommend it if you're following the MvC series.

The game is good. Interesting add on to the gameplay with the infinity stones. Wish they had as much characters as the previous games. But they’re now getting into the DLC purchases I guess. Great storyline

This game is pretty good. It is fun to play overall, but I wish they had more characters and a better storyline in story mode. Story mode ok, but not great. The final boss is really hard, which was frustrating. I liked the steelbook and the dlc content that came with the deluxe edition. Overall, the game is good, but needs some improvements to make it a better game.

Probably among the best in 2D type fighter play. Easy enough for a novice to jump in and try to survive against the young people in the household!
