Buggy but entertaining
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mass Effect has always been a buggy series. I think Andromeda is the lease polished of them and I've run into a number of incredibly frustrating issues - bugged quests, enemies that need to be killed but have dropped through terrain, etc. At the same time, the main quest is very entertaining and there's a lot to explore. Despite its flaws, I've enjoyed my time with Andromeda.

Flawed but Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mass Effect: Andromeda has been bashed by reviewers, gamers, and haters. While a disappointment to fans and those who anticipated the release with high hopes, it is still worth checking out. It is a substantial time commitment, a cost sometimes more painful than actual money, but won't disappoint in the areas of action, exploration, and science fiction.

What Could Have Been
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good game, but has a lot of bugs out of the box. Most are addressed with patch 1.05, but they are still annoying. The story is decent, and I like a couple of my team member NPCs, but I feel like they have missed a great opportunity with this game. I found myself getting bored with some of the side quests. I expected more.

Andromeda
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish the developers spent more time polishing the game, but the story is there and that's what I care about most

Very fun shooting Syfy game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After watching YouTube I've seen a lot of bad reviews of this game I have yet to see anything that is completely game breaking just about the normal type of bug you would find in a shooting gameRPG elements of the game is slacking a little bit I wish it was more in depth and involved in the story after playing the last three games the combat in this game is great I don't have much time to play video games anymore since having a family this game is a great game to pick up and put down as life throws curve balls at you I would definitely recommend this to anybody that likes the genre or bioware games

Flawed but fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Following up the original mass Effect trilogy was no easy task, and while this game fails to be as groundbreaking as the original series, it nonetheless earns the the name of the series it's in. While the original series focused on a military leader understanding the world that everyone else knew, Andromeda has you as an explorer seeing new wonders for the first time. The change in tone has changed my playstyle and made a new experience that I really enjoy. Some elements of the game's design are questionable, if not straight out underwhelming or lacking. The camera during conversation is infuriating and the cinematics of traveling between systems and planets is just boring. But those are small blemishes on an otherwise fun and compelling game that's kept me fully engaged since I've started. I couldn't recommend this game enough, if you find it on sale between $30-$40 then I say it's a must buy. If you're a huge fan of RPG's, science fiction, or exploration, then full price shouldn't leave you feeling like you've overpaid.

The weakest Mass Effect yet, highly unpolished
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're like me, a returning vet of the original Mass Effect trilogy: lower your expectations. On a technical level, the game is buggy, and the character animations really are wooden and unbelievable when they're not outright goofy. Landscapes and things like water look "next gen", but the characters' faces look worse than they did in the first Mass Effect. The Mass Effect games were gripping for their interesting stories and personae, and the shooty bits helped punctuate the story with tactical gameplay. In Mass Effect Andromeda, the story is weak, the characters all seem like fan fiction creations, and the acting (both VA and again, the character animations) is stiffer and drier than a high school play. The Multiplayer from 3 returns largely unchanged but for the addition of "jump packs", which do add verticality to the maps. However, even this mode feels half-baked: none of the maps are terribly impressive or memorable, and they all have weird areas that seem to serve no purpose other than being death traps for noobs who haven't learned to avoid their bizarre layouts. It's still fun enough to play, especially if you have friends... but when the multiplayer is easily more fun than the single player in a Mass Effect game, you know something's wrong. I just can't believe this game took five years to produce. I guess the folks at EA's Bioware today must've just focused on the wrong things, like making the game open world (why? so I can get caught on rocks driving around huge boring planets?) instead of embracing the things that made the first two games so memorable and unique, like cinema-quality story telling and gameplay that actually complements character development.

Fun times...eventually
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game starts out slow, like all the others, but the others didn't release surrounded by Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Persona 5 (among other things). So, it's taking a beating in ratings due to the surrounding talent. Expectations were high and Mass Effect Andromeda just followed standard Mass Effect strategy and didn't do too many new things. The openness of the game makes it a little more fun, but also makes it drag. Certain tasks that have to be repeated are too slow, way to slow. Conversation is more fluid since it's not just good vs bad, but this also means you don't know the outcome after you say what you want to say and how it will affect others around you. Story is...ok, it won't win any awards (especially not after Horizon). Multiplayer is still fun. It's almost exactly the same as the previous game, but you have the jetpack and more customization options. Despite the negatives, I'm still having a lot of fun, so it gets a 4 because 3.5 isnt' an option

Solid story and game-play(post patch)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a loyal fan of the Mass Effect series since the first game. I heard that during the first week of the game's release, there were a few technical issues. I started playing roughly week 2 of the game's launch. I had absolutely no issues with any of the game-play. The story is entertaining enough, especially regarding the fact that it is completely new. There are still updates going on(obviously), that address further issues and smooth out any other inconveniences. I highly recommend this game to any new or old fan of the Mass Effect series.

I don’t understand all the bad hype
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game really isn’t as bad as the internet says. Now I am a first time mass effect player so maybe that’s why I feel this way. Now it’s not perfect (facial expressions are stiff) but other than that it’s a really solid game, with so much to do. Don’t listen to the internet, great game and one heck of a deal at current low price.

Pretty Good Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is pretty good. The story was decent and the gameplay was decent. The graphics were nice looking. Personally, I liked the other Mass Effect games more than this one in particular. I’m not particularly fond of this game, but it’s pretty good nonetheless.

Not as good as previous entires, worth playing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't dislike it as much as many reviews did, and I think it's a good game. It feels disappointing, because there's a lot to live up to with Mass Effect's greatness, but offers more exploration, fun combat, and cool worlds. Worth getting if you like the series.

Fresh breath for franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Andromeda is a new take on the series where instead of trying to protect all life from a galactic threat, your mission is to explore the galaxy in search of a new home. There are bugs in the game, but nothing that fans of the original series has not seen.

Original Trilogy is better but this good too!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The original Mass Effect trilogy is a gaming classic, so it will be hard to top- with that being said this is pretty good so far. I have not beat it yet but I have around 28 hours in the game. It has great graphics especially on the PS Pro using HDR and I'm enjoying the story so far. The combat system is really good also. You have a lot more options compared to the original trilogy. Now the bad- they only introduced 2 new races. WTH a new solar systems and you could only come up with 2 new races that differ from the original trilogy? Come on Bioware! Also the animations need a lot of work. As of this review they have put out a new patch to address some of the animations good job. So right now the game is about a 8 for me. I would say catch it on sale if you can wait. I would only recommend this to hardcore Mass Effect fan such as my self.

Pretty decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely not the mind blowing experience of ME1, but pretty good so far. Facial and body animations outside of combat really suck, but environments are fantastic. Combat itself is great and crafting is decent. Lots to explore and do.

Hidden gem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I avoided this game when it first released due to the backlash that it got. However, I decided to pick it up and try due to the recent sale. And I must say, the game is a lot better now than it was before. Even though the controls seem a little clunky, the story so far has been quite a trip. I have never played any Mass Effect games so this is my very first one and it's good. For only six dollars, this game is really good.

Good start to the new saga
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There have been a lot of bad reviews of this game. I think that people get lost in the world to much and I ended up doing the same. There are so many side quests I felt like I was playing an ubisoft open world game. If you do buy this pace yourself on side missions and focus on the main story, you will thank yourself later for it.

Wait to it goes on sale.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mass effect for this console generation leaves a lot to be desired. This game with its current patches still has lots of issues. But it's still a fun game. Once this game drops down below 30 bucks I would pick it up.
