As a longtime Mass Effect fan, I am enjoying Andromeda. I cannot speak for the experience at release, but I haven't run into any glitches so far. I would recommend this game to any Mass Effect fan. The graphics are stunning, the gameplay is great, however the story quests can get monotonous at times. I have been playing as a male Ryder as I have done in earlier Mass Effect games. Worth a play!

Great Addition to the Mass Effect Universe

First of all I have to admit that I am a huge Mass Effect fan. This game is a welcome addition to the Mass Effect universe with a convincing story line separating it from the original trilogy. NPCs and squad mates are warm and surprisingly deep from what I heard from the reviews. The whole system seems to run a lot smoother but does suffer from lag issues when there is lots of detail/action and some of the facial animations are a little disappointing (Bioware says they are going to release patches to fix these issues). Overall a good game and a great multiplayer.

The original Mass Effect trilogy is easily holding a spot on my list of favorite games ever, and so far Andromeda is living up to my hopes and expectations. It's a new story with new characters, but it still retains enough of the feel of the original trilogy to have a nostalgic feel of familiarity. The new UI takes some getting used to just like any new game, and the gear/weapons R&D system is a little tedious as well. The combat is very well done. I feel my money was well spent and I'm happy to have it in my collection.

Better graphics and gameplay, especially the action sequences. Improved planet mining. Great story from what I have played so far. Expansive universe as well. If you liked the first 3 you will LOVE this one. Its a must get.

This game is not perfect (a lot of bugs, some bad animation) but overall I love it. An interesting story, fun characters, lots of exploration, and really fun combat. I've been playing a lot of it, and I really enjoy it.

I'm not sure why this game has received so many negative reviews, because frankly, it's a great game. It combines the best combat parts of the last 3 entries, with the exploration of ME1, and the story is pretty solid.

Overall a good game haven't hit as many bugs as other people. But the story does need some work. Only two new alien races. Gameplay is fun though. I hope if they do decide todo a trilogy, it can be as amazing as he first trilogy. Come on bioware. I've played all the other mass effects, KOTOR, dragon age inquisition. Get it together and bring back the amazing experience.

Got it when it first came out. Big fan of Original Trilogy, and this one did not disappoint. Buggy, as with any first release, but game was awesome, and held up well within ME world. Too bad there won't be any DLC, but I would play again- and I took 100 hours to complete

One of the nice things about modern games is the ability to easily patch in fixes. Bioware has been listening and making progress on this title in regards to errors and bugs. As for the game itself it plays and feels like prior Mass effect games which is very good. If you have never played those and want your foot in the door then this is a good place to start as its a fresh new story.

Andromeda does not live up to the bar set by the amazing original trilogy, however it is still a very good game. Pros: The story is interesting, the environments are gorgeous, and the combat is pretty fun. Cons: Facial animations can be a bit wonky, the inventory/crafting system is terrible, and some sidequests can be boring/repetitive. Overall, I would give it a 7.5-8/10.

I liked this as much as the other Mass Effect games ... in other words, a lot! Great game. The interaction (how you open a door, etc) is slightly different than the previous mass effect games, so that took a minute to get used to. Once I got used to the new interface ... game on! I really liked the story and characters. And, of course, the overall adventure. They got rid of the tiring planet search for minerals and other resources and made that effort more part of the storyline (for instance, setting mining platforms in mineral rich areas). Great game!

This game is a perfect addition to the Mass Effect family. I consider myself to be a die hard fan of the series and this game is the perfect addition to the family. The story, the gameplay, the combat mechanics are amazing. The exploration, the NPCs, and other aspects of the game just work for me. I have not had any issues with this game yet, aside from the multiplayer connection to the server, but the game is still new so it doesnt bother me. I suggest you pick this up if youre a fan of the series. There are even a few nods to the old games if you look hard enough...

From deciding how a conversation goes to deciding which star system you want to explore, Mass Effect: Andromeda is a breathtaking new chapter in the Mass Effect universe. The delivery of the story will have you on the edge of your seat and the fluid combat mechanics will leave you looking for more fights. The new leveling system is complex but flexible to the player's play style. The multiplayer is great fun for a group of friends or solo. Leveling up makes the player feel more powerful and there are a lot of new characters to play as.

5 years. 5 whole years to develop this game. I've seen much bigger, just as beautiful games come out in almost half the time. (I'm looking at you Witcher III). Don't get me wrong, the core gameplay is what you'd expect from a Mass Effect series. Colorful characters, cool ship, planets to explore. Solid gunplay and powers. It's a lot of fun. The story has some cool elements but nothing to write home about and was predictable from start to finish. None of the choices felt like they had any weight (like leaving Kaiden or Ashley behind from ME1) and visual glitches and game stopping bugs abound. Like a lot. That's not to mention the absolutely horrendous facial models and options to start your character that continue throughout all of gameplay. I can't figure out why my characters all look like creepy plastic robots but they do. However I still put in close to 100 hours into it and felt like my time was mostly well spent (screw traveling to and from planets and having to watch a cutscene every time I wanted to go back and forth from the Tempest, so annoying) I expected a masterpiece after such a development cycle and wanted more from Bioware but maybe they have more up their sleeves.

Mass Effect Andromeda isn't about its story but more about exploration. If your zipping your way through the story... It is a good chance that your not playing the game right. Mass Effect Andromeda is all about discovery and treasury...which makes this game epic. Every game has their faults but it doesn't ruin the fun on how fun this game truly is! The game is all about exploration... Even though it doesn't have much of the elements that made the original well.. Original.. It is still a good game to invest in.

It's more Mass Effect. Fans of sci fi stories will really enjoy it. Combat is vastly improved over the previous trilogy. But story is forgettable and it just doesn't do anything really new. For those that can't tell by the name, this games takes place in an entirely different galaxy. Which means ALL new star systems. Places no one else in the Milky Way has ever been to. So as a huge sci fi nerd, I was horribly disappointed with the lack of any new aliens. There are two new species total, and once you keep following the story, you realize that it's even more generic and boring than you originally thought. But still, the game is good. I love exploring the strange planets and finding things. And the combat is superb(the automatic cover system sucks though). The coop is also very fun and addicting, but not something I'd recommend the game for unless you have friends. Overall, I can recommend it to sci fi fans looking to explore things. If you're not a big sci fi fan and you're looking for a good story, skip it. Anywhere in the middle and I'll say wait for a sale, but you'll probably end up enjoying it either way.
