Great game, great series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played through every Mass Effect game so far, and I really liked this one. I think it is a bit different than most shooters/RPG games and I enjoy the elaborate story, the number of choiced that influence the story, and the numerous possible outcomes...but I think some people don't have the same opinion and just like to shoot stuff.

Underneath there is a good game somewhere in here
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After playing through several hours of Mass Effect Andromeda I find myself disheartened more and more. Somewhere beneath the unpolished animations and stilted dialogue, along with an annoying and antiquated scanning system as well as ammo retrieval system is a good game unfortunately I don't know if I have the patience to find it. With the amount of time in between Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda and the number of AAA RPGs and adventure games that have been released in that time, Andromeda does not live up to its predecessor or its competition. It's certainly not a bad game but I do think it's an unfinished product if the numerous and sizable patches that had to be released in the short time since its launch are any indication. Despite the fact that the character creation left me feeling a bit disappointed and the story and dialogue fall flat very often I will say that the combat is fun and fast paced especially the biotic powers, the Nomad handles well and looks awesome, the fact that you can really tailor your combat classes is fun and engaging even if it somewhat overpowers you after a while and of course the majority of your supporting crew members are interesting and make you want to learn more about them.I would reluctantly recommend this game to Mass Effect completionists only. If you have never played an ME game before, DO NOT start with this one. I think it boils down to the fact that this game does not exist in a vacuum. Other games do what this game promises and more, better. Breath of The Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn and the Witcher 3 are all prime examples of better execution on a large scale. So should you play this game? If you're jonesin' for a sci-fi action RPG then give it a try, there is a decent amount to like but overall it is still a game that seemed rushed to release and could have used a little while longer in the BioWare oven.

Fun rework of ME2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for something new story-wise compared to the previous Mass Effect games, you are not going to find it. Exact same plot, same story, same basic enemy with a different name, same ship, et cetera. With that being said it is fun to be back in the ME world. Character development is a letdown from previous versions. Having access to all skill trees is a plus. Mixed results. Game combat is a step backwards with the lack of the same scroll wheel, power slots are limited to just 3 active, & no healing. Choose wisely. Graphics are a step forward as they should be. However you can tell it's not a true 60fps game at high resolution on the console. (playing it on XBox One S on high end Samsung 4k 50") Still it looks great with the only real quirk being the facial animations are not very good at times. Main story arc is very short. You could complete it in just a few game hours. That is a let down. Numerous side arcs can fill in some gaming time but many are repetitive go here then there missions. They don't let you give half stars or I would say 4.5 of 5 and honestly .5 may just be because I like the ME universe and it is nice to get to play new content.

Great game in the Mass Effect Series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not completed the game yet, but from what I have played, it is an exhilarating story. Look beyond the weird facial animations and you will see a gorgeous, deep game. The multiplayer is very addicting.

Great game. Doesn't deserve all the hate it gets.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes the games facial animations sucks and there are some bugs every now and then but the game is still very solid. I would definitely recommend to play it eventually if you are fan of the franchise.

Good Game, Still rough around the edges
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked the Mass Effect Series, and this one does have a lot of fun aspects to it. The biggest downside is that while the world is extremely expansive, much more than the other games, it seems like they have the same amount of content as they've had before. The facial customizations and the videos are often times painful to watch, which is frustrating because this game took two years to make, and in many way is significantly inferior to ME3. The multiplayer system is frustratingly fun, and be prepared to take a beating for a while until you level up. Still the game is extremely fun to play when you do interact, which makes the boring times in between a lot more palatable.

Good game, despite its flaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I really enjoy this game. There are definitely some issues with graphics, character animations, glitches and a few others... but those things aren't enough to ruin a good game. The combat system is much better than the original trilogy and the worlds are HUGE! Lots to explore and lots of loot. The characters are pretty good and likeable. There are a lot of side quests to keep you busy. I have not finished the game yet, but after 40 hours of playing, I am very happy I didn't listen to the negative reviews and bought this game. There are definitely some things that need to be fixed with the game, and once they get patched, I will give this game a 5/5.

Good game. Ignore the bad reviews.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fun game. Don't listen to the negative reviews that expected this 4th installment to be a masterpiece. It's still a lot of fun with a new story and many hours of entertainment.

Tremendous game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought originally in july 2018, so most of the things people were originally griping about have been fixed. This story drew me in, and in extremely saddened that all dlc's, and the andromeda story in general, have all but been cancelled. Still, for $10, this is a brilliant game.

Fun game with some flaws that got fixed over time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the ~150 hours that I played it I enjoyed my time but the game couldn't escape the shadow of the much beloved original Mass Effect series. It also had some technical issues that were mostly resolved with patches after launch but it already got tanked in the press/reviews and so it became popular to just assume that all the game was crap not just those handful of issues. it probably could have used more time in development but part of me thinks that there was just too much love for the old series that anything new would have never stood up to the expectations that the most fervent/loudest of the fans had for it.

Not as good as the originals, but still great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is really fun. It's nice to go back to this universe with a game that has almost nothing to do with the original trilogy. Lots of exploring and new pieces of the universe to uncover. If you enjoyed the originals, or just like a space action adventure title, this game wonb't disappoint.

Good but not Ground breaking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A decent edition to the Mass Effect series but not mind blowing new. Still has a fair share of bugs that will need to be patched but overall enjoyed playing it so far

Well its Mass Effect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very different from original games. I am a huge ME fan so when I see for example a voice log of Liara I get all goose bumpy. So I like how they make reference to the old games. The play style is much like Fallout 4. But the combat is meh. You are really zoomed in when your guns out so if somone comes at your side... I love the customization, story line and everything. The only complaint is the combat being zoomed in. Love everything else. If your are plannnig to use the app for strike teams it is kinda messed up right now. You cant do things sometimes because it gets iffy about you being signed in.

Good extension to the series. Not as good as ME2/3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good next chapter of the Mass Effect series. Story is good so far. Multiplayer is fun. Does not seem to capture the same excitement of Mass Effect 2/3.
