Fun, fun, fun!
Great mix of gameplay (space exploration, shooter, resource building, skill development, puzzle solving, squad building, alliance building). No gameplay bugs.
Normal difficulty is just right for me and plenty challenging. And the game designers throw in plenty of fresh maps and gameplay as the game progresses; can't start getting complacent because of "been there done that" syndrome.
Very good script and excellent voice acting, logically coherent story arc. Decision choices actually make significant differences in the story so I recommend saving before big decisions.
Legendary's graphics don't feel outdated at all; they look great to me (I'm playing on a ps4 hooked up to a 65in UHD TV). No rendering bugs.
Dualshock 4 hardwired to ps4 is fine, responsiveness has been all I can ask for 99.5% of the time (but it's on you if one of your squad-mates doesn't get to the position you assigned; that's just poor leadership on your part).
I really like the fact that when starting a new ME 2 game I can keep the strengths, skills, and back-story my character finished ME 1 with if I want; likewise going from ME 2 to ME 3.
All in all, Legendary is excellent fun. Now excuse me, I'm off to protect the galaxy!

Outstanding trilogy of games that focus on story, characters and dialogue! Great missions, side quests, romances, lore and combat! Decisions that carry over between games, nice HD graphic update, and quality of life improvements. This package also includes most of the single player DLC. A must play for long-time fans or newcomers! Fantastic trilogy of RPG goodness!

After playing through the original trilogy on PS3, I was both blown away and sad that I had found one of the greatest stories and series written for PlayStation. Fastforward ~15yrs and I can finally go back and relive all those moments that so many (myself included) fall in love all over again.

The re-released trilogy offers a multitute of improvements performance-wise. It grants a consistent framerate, maintaining 60FPS across the board in cutscenes and gameplay. Enhanced graphics from the PS3 give a noticeable increase in picture quality, pairing well with the framerate.
Gameplay wise, it is a HUGE step up from the original, especially if you have played the original mass effect. All of the weaponry is accessible, and instead of increasing sway for weaponry not skilled in, there's just a moderate damage decrease.
Driving the Mako is still terrible, but atleast the aiming has been fixed.
Story is still the same from the original 3. Nothing worth commenting about. All DLC is included, so you'll have a few extra missions to keep you occupied. The additional crewmates are a bit stronger than others.
This was a great purchase for returning fans, or newcomers wanting to experience the legend of Commander Shepard.

Legendary indeed!
If you like narrative-driven games and if you like sci-fi, Mass Effect should not be missed.
I admit, I cannot separate my enthusiasm for this game from the sense of nostalgia I get playing it again after so many years. But unlike a lot of games from the Xbox360-era, this one seems to have aged pretty well.
So far, I am still working my way through replaying ME1, but i am thoroughly engrossed in the story and gameplay. There is so much backstory built into this universe, it can sometimes seem like you are reading a sci-fi pulp novel. But, if you feel like ignoring all those codex entries, you will still get plenty of interesting story from the cut-scenes and in-game dialogue.
The combat mechanics in ME1 are fun, even if they do seem a little rough compared to ME2 and ME3. I will always love using Biotic powers and combining other party members skills to take out a room full of enemies.

When I played Mass Effect back in 2006, it was life-changing. Coming from Pokemon on the Gameboy Color to a new type of RPG was amazing. The differences from 2006 to now is astonishing. The game in 4k truly does it justice and the story still holds up after all of this time. The improvements to the first game were much needed and amped the quality up ten-fold overall. I am in the process of playing through and am currently in the second game and am taken back by just how complex and vast the games really are when you try to tackle all side-quests, exploring, etc. 5/5 is an understatement. Get the game and steelbook if you can. Makes an amazing addition to any Mass Effect collection and will hype fans up for Mass Effect 5 which is slated to arrive in the next several years. Go save the galaxy from the Reapers.

Played the original trilogy on PC when they first came out and it is my second overall favorite sci-fi game series. I had tons of nostalgia replaying these and hope that Bioware fixes its act and gets back to making awesome games.

Still on the first of 3 games. My spouse likes to complete the side missions, so it's taking more time to play through. The character interactions are pretty time consuming, but if that doesn't bother you, it's lots of fun to play.

You know these games. They defined a generation of gaming.
Now, they're back, upgraded and better than ever.
Mass Effect 1 is still a bit of a buggy mess, but maybe that adds to its charm? The Mako is a floaty mess to control, some character animations are stiff. However, graphical and combat updates polish the game as best as they can.
Mass Effect 2 is still perfection defined. Best part of the collection.
Mass Effect 3 looks gorgeous! This game is the most polished of the three and, in my opinion, has the best self-contained story. And yes, I know, the ending. Just look past that and see the game for the complete package.
Buy this collection. You won't be disappointed.

I played the original releases with the story DLC on PC years ago, and dropped right back in with ease into the fantastic Legendary Edition. Explore and save the galaxy with your favorite aliens and/or waifus, make choices that have repercussions down the line, maybe even NPC deaths, and choose how ridiculous your Shepard appears! Although ME3's excellent multiplayer is one of the few things missing (and no longer necessary for the best ending), I didn't miss it after running all 3 back to back. Everything looks cleaner, loads faster, and you almost forget these games were made 10 years ago! Excellent games and value.

Great to revisit an Epic Trilogy

Having played the original trilogy way back in the 360 era it was great finally revisit all 3 games has been nostalgic and incredibly fun. Mass Effect 1 is the most notably changed of the 3. Combat was the worst part of the original but has been improved significantly. Gunplay is tighter and more precise and the framerate is buttery smooth (Played on a PS5.) Load times is considerably faster as well and the story and characters remain timeless and awesome. Mass Effect 2 is still my personal favorite of the 3 and it got a much cleaner look. A bump in resolution, textures and character models are much improved. The game itself is largely unchanged. But with the addition of the previously released dlc is a welcome addition to the package. Mass Effect 3 gets the same treatment as 2. Story is still what it is; epic in scale and a lot on the line. Gameplay is very good and fast pace. But what drags it down is the many bugs and crashes i suffered the most out of all 3 games. In Mass Effect 1 i only encounter 4 bugs throughout my time. Mass Effect 2, no bugs what so ever. But in 3, i have gotten at least 11 major crashes. 5 of which happened during the Omega DLC and the other 6 were progress stopping because some enemies got stuck in geometry which prevented me from continuing. Very disappointing to see 3 get the least amount of polish. Just be aware when started 3. Even so the 3 games included is a must buy for old fans and a great way to introduce new fans into the series.

What a trilogy!! Seriously, I remember when the first came out and it was the beginning of Bioware's best years. The story draws you in and the aliens, crew, missions really make you feel. Then Mass Effect 2 came out and changed gaming forever....the best sequel ever made hands down. The first 5mins will have you hooked. The crew is bigger and intros many beloved members. The conclusion is all about loss and sacrifice....so many big losses. It really is about saying goodbye to the world and those you met in it. But endings are only just new beginnings aren't they ;-)

Gets you the first three Mass Effect games with a mild refresh (not a remaster or remake) along with the DLC. The games do show their age but are still a lot of fun to play. Mass Effect 2 is still the best game aside from the planet mining mini game which can be tedious.
