It is a little louder than my old kitchenaid, but the ice maker, water dispenser and extra room in the freezer make up for it. Great so far, and very nice looking. Has a high end look to it. I would recommend.

This is a nice refrigerator and has one metal shelf to hold heavy items (the others are glass). The doors set into the door are great and stay put, although they can be removed for cleaning. The shelves are easily removed for cleaning as well. Good look, good buy, good value.

I bought this refrigerator from BBY thinking it would be a good choice, as its a Whirlpool brand. I was impressed with its build and appearance, and BBY reps had good things to say. Withing 8 months of owning it, Ice Maker quits working. Good thing I had purchased BBY Black Tide Protection for 3 years. They came out, did very little actual trouble shooting but replaced the entire ice maker component in the door. Back to working. Another 6 months, it quits again. Tech was sent again via BBY, not sure what was done this time but got it functioning again. At this point I was concerned about this model and complained to BBY customer service to refund the money while I am still under warranty, so that I can put it towards another refrigerator. I don't think they saw my ask as genuine and told me they cannot do this as its an ICE maker issue. I decided to try my luck. Another 8 months goes by and the thing breaks again. At this point I am really upset and I tell BBY that I am stuck with this defective product and tired of fixing it over and over. Its worth noting that we use our refrigerator very gentle and ice machine is conservatively used only. BBY wanted to send the tech again to fix, I told them they can do this but I am out of warranty in 1 more month and if this happens again, they need to support. Agent over the phone said everything will be documented. They replaced the inlet valve this time, and it was working again.
Here we are another 6 months after. Ice machine has stopped working. BBY will no longer help, its out of warranty. Fridge is now 3.5 years old. I am out of luck I guess.

I had great experiences with Maytag so I wanted to get another one when I renovated and upgraded my kitchen. I'm so glad I got the extended warranty: within 3 years, I was having icemaker issues. They still persist after 1 year, and after 6 visits from the Geeksquad professionals, can't be fixed. The refrigerator section is more than adequate, and the freezer is fine, but the hourly "waterfalls" from the icemaker and leaks from the lower part of the freezer area are a "DO NOT BUY" warning.
Ironically, the old Maytag that I bought in 1998 is still running in the garage.

Run away from Maytag!

The compressor in my Maytag refrigerator failed in LESS THAN A YEAR. The technician stated that the SIX-WEEK-WAIT on parts is due to all their compressors failing and thus the LOOOOONNNG delay on parts. After the technician replaced the compressor, the refrigerator makes noise like a coffee machine and does not make water or ice! So I'm waiting AT LEAST 2 MORE WEEKS to get scheduled for service AGAIN!! Will never buy Maytag again!

Doesn't have a way to stop from rolling

Horrible design! Can't stop it from rolling back and forth! Best Buy contacted the Rep for Maytag and they said that is how it is made. Supposedly I needed to put things in the fridge and that would make it stop from rolling back and forth. I did and it still rolls back and forth. I have had to place 4 big door stoppers (2 in front and 2 in back) to make it stop. It is a big eyesore to see these on my kitchen floor. I have talked to a Best Buy employee and manager about this issue at least 2 to 3 times. I do not have time to research a different refrigerator when I spent at least 2 months researching this one. I went back to Best Buy to see what they could do and the manager said they can't do anything for me since it is made that way.
The function of the fridge in relation to keeping my food cold or frozen works fine. I just want it to stop from rolling back and forth!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Horrible ! Nothing but problems with the ice maker , had to replace the door less than 1 year after purchase ! Everytine the filter is replaced it quits making ice ! When we do exactly what the Manuel says for the past 3 years !!
