This washer was a lemon, after wash and rinse cycle was complete the washer leaked water and left my clothes soaking wet unless I got them out right after the wash was done.

I’ve been very happy with this Maytag washer so far. It feels well-built and dependable, which is exactly what I was looking for when replacing our old unit.
The washer handles larger loads without any trouble and cleans thoroughly without being overly loud or rough on clothes. Cycles are straightforward and easy to understand, and I like that it doesn’t try to overcomplicate things with unnecessary features.
Installation was smooth, and everything worked as expected right out of the box. Overall, this washer gives the impression of being designed to last and to do one job well — clean clothes consistently and efficiently.
I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a no-nonsense, durable washer that performs well for everyday family use.

Maytag deep fill with extra rinse washer

Best washer ever. Deep fill with extra rinse uses plenty of water. Clothes come out clean and well rinsed. The tub is very large, holds a lot of clothes,
Agitator can tangle clothes. To avoid this, load tub in quarter sections evenly .
Easy to use dials, all functions available without cell phone.
My front load washer door gasket was prone to mold requiring diligent cleaning. Not a problem with this top loader.
It does makes more noise than the front loader. My front loader only lasted just under 5 years. Hope this lasts longer. I did buy the 5 year extended warranty and my washer was replaced by the warranty.
Maytag met all my washer needs and expectations.

This washing machine does a great job of cleaning clothes. It has a large tub area and a cycle is about average if set on the "Normal" setting. The only issue I have with this washer is that it is noisy and difficult to level because of the rounded lid. I had to return the first washer because of loud banging noises that occurred during the cycle. The machine is in the basement and I could hear it on the 2nd floor. I think it was out of balance. The second machine was installed and I really focused on leveling with the installers. They did a good job and adjusted the feet. Unfortunately, after washing some blankets, it appears it may be out of balance again. The only feature I wish it had is a countdown clock for how much time is left in the load. My previous washer (GE) had this feature. I will say that my clothes have never felt cleaner or softer.

Love my Maytag washer. I prefer the top load with an agitator. The basket is pretty large and holds a lot of clothes for one load. All comes out very clean too! Got a great deal on a Labor Day sale and the delivery men were friendly too! I really like the simplicity of the dials with several options for different types of loads.

Pros: Good washing overall. It cleans well, doesn't take an exceedingly long time from start to finish, and has a 10 year on drive motor and wash basket.
Cons: The machine is quite loud while filling and the noise it makes is similar to a loud electric hair clipper. It makes this noise while sensing weight of soiled clothes, while filling with water, and of course during agitation of soiled clothes. It doesn't have a lot of options such as no extra spin time, no soaking option. The lid stays locked at all times, not just during the spin cycle which is kind of a hindrance if you want to add clothes while it's filling with water.

I purchased this washer when our three year-old GE blew its transmission and it was going to be costly and not beneficial to repair. So far this washer has worked well. It handles bulky items. The spin cycle works. Our old one used to have problems spinning with bulky items, like two bath towels! This washer is solid. It has a deep tub. It handles all types of loads. The clothes come out clean.
The reason I gave it a four is the way one has to add clothes and detergent. The detergent has to be added before the clothes. The cycle starts and if there is a pause, the water stops. It's not convenient if more clothes need to be added. The lid locks. One never sees water!

I give this washing machine four stars, because although it has a large capacity and appears to clean my loads well, it has a few draw backs (for me). I do not understand the need for this top loading lid to lock. You cannot observe the water level without pausing the process. The machine is much more noisy than my prior machine. The dials are not particularly easy to figure out and the instructions provided with the machine are not clear. The slanted top may look nice, but does not lend itself to be a good surface for folding clothes/towels. Finally, the tub is very deep. My wife cannot reach items at the bottom of the tub without a reaching aid.
All in all, after getting use to it, the machine works well enough for our purposes.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the NOISE level of this washer. Yes, I know washers are supposed to make noise, but even when I read the reviews before purchasing they stated this washer was noisier than most (early in the cycle mostly). It is! That being said, the drum/barrel (whatever you call it) where you load the clothes is HUGE!!! MUCH larger than my 13 year old machine I replaced with this one. I LOVE that it is so much larger!!! It is user-friendly, easy to use and other than the noise level I have ZERO complaints! I once remember that my mother had a Maytag (are you ready or this? FOR 35 YEARS!!! I'm 67 so that was back in the Stone Age). Remember the commercial where the Maytag repairperson was sitting lonely with nothing to do? That is how they made 'em back then!!! I do love Maytag though!

This Maytag washer has been a total game-changer for my laundry routine. The 4.5 cu. ft. capacity easily handles bulky loads like comforters and towels, and the Deep Fill option is perfect when I want that extra water for heavily soiled clothes. Everything comes out clean and fresh every time.
It runs quieter than I expected and doesn’t shake or rattle, even during the spin cycle. The controls are simple and easy to figure out—no need for a manual just to run a load of laundry. I also appreciate that it's high-efficiency, so I’m saving water without sacrificing performance.
Overall, it feels sturdy and well-built—classic Maytag quality. If you're looking for a dependable, no-fuss washer that gets the job done right, this is a great pick.

I purchased this washer on July 12, 2025, and I’ve been using it almost daily for a little over a month. Overall, I’m very happy with it. The only drawback for me is that there’s no clear way to know when a load is finished—but that’s a minor issue compared to how well everything else works.
Before buying, I read a lot of reviews mentioning noise levels and problems with the start button. Personally, I haven’t had either issue. I do have a laundry room, so that may help with sound, but even when I accidentally overloaded it, the washer still ran quietly without any problems. The start button has worked perfectly every time.
Most importantly, the wash quality is excellent. Clothes come out smelling fresh and clean. One time I even left a load sitting in the washer for about five hours (I fell asleep), and there was no odor at all. I usually use Tide or Purex pods and sometimes Arm & Hammer liquid detergent, and no matter what I use, the results are consistently great.
For context, I upgraded from a GE front-load washer with Wi-Fi, and I actually prefer this Maytag. It’s simple, reliable, and gets the job done better than my previous machine.

I do like this new washer. I mostly keep it on max full even for half to 3 quarters of a load. I never fill it full of clothes because I paused it on wash cycle to see how full it fills. Was about 3 quarters full on max. But the tub is very large anyway so I wouldn’t recommend filling it with dirty laundry more than 3 quarters full anyway. I think it does a fairly good job of washing. Haven’t noticed anything not clean or smelling like it didn’t get washed. I also use 2-3 tide pods per load and they seem fine. My only issue is with my queen comforter I noticed I definitely gotta put the pods in first because they just kinda sat on top of the comforter and didn’t get rinsed out. It was washed on bulky items. Think I’ll just wash my queen comforter on max/heavy duty for now on. I would definitely recommend this washer.

My experience with Maytag products has been that they are built to last, and so far so good. I like the ease of use, the capacity, and the esthetics of the machine. The one issue I have is that is it on the loud side of the spectrum.

Washer does good job on getting clothes clean. Large capacity to clean a lot of clothes/towels, etc.
But it’s loud when it runs. And seems to have too many cycle options than I think most people would use. Manual not very user friendly and there is a separate document for cycle options.

I am surprised how much larger the tub is compared to my old washer. The washer fits in the same area as the old one but this new one holds lots more laundry.
I don’t care for the locked lid. I prefer to add detergent as the tub is filling vs. before.

This is only day one, but I am catching up on laundry since being without a washing machine. It is a good basic machine that gets laundry clean and can handle large loads. I do wish it told me how much longer for each cycle and it let me know when the laundry is done. But my biggest complaint is that it is REALLY LOUD. I wish I would have known how loud it is because I may have looked at other washers.

Broke after 2 years a decent washing machine but you have to hold the start button that I have to use my knuckle. As some one who constantly washes it does it’s job but don’t rely on it doing heavy loads.
