Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the 4.7 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer's cleaning performance, large capacity, quiet operation, and ease of use, with many praising the agitator and effective spin cycle. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the washer's reliability and the lid lock feature, citing instances of early malfunctions and inconvenience. The large tub size is also frequently mentioned as a positive. Overall, positive feedback significantly outweighs negative comments.

I love this washer so far! We had a basic 16 year old washer that finally died, so we had to purchase a new one. I wanted a top loading washer with an agitator and a large capacity. I love all of the features and different cycles- it even has an oxiclean cycle. I can set the delay so my clothes can wash right before I get home from work or before I wake up in the morning so I can stick them right in the dryer so they don't sit in the washer and get stinky. It has a very large capacity, and it seems to clean better than my old washer. Best Buy's delivery and service were great- we ordered it in the store on a Sat., and it was delivered by Wednesday. Very pleased with this purchase!

We purchased this Magtag after out Frigidaire front loader died after 3 years. I wanted a Maytag based on their reputation for longevity . I always had GEs and they did not last long. I needed a washer that would fit into an accordion door space on my second floor. Didn't think it was possible to find a Maytag that would fit, especially one with this large capacity, but it fit! Yeah!!! Good cleaner. Not sure why lid locks on top? Not quiet.

After having a Samsung without an agitator I realized I really needed one! Having said that, it doesn't compare to old school agitators but it cleans much better than the Samsung did. So far I'm happy with this purchase! I especially love the deep fill option for when I want a full tub of water.

I was having trouble getting my clothes clean with my previous HE washer. My clothes, that I had spent time washing would develop a stink after a few days. I decided to buy this washer because of the deep water wash, agitator and large tub, plus the reviews I had read. This washer is the greatest! My clothes come out of the closest and drawers smelling fresh and clean! I am in love! The noise that I read about is not that bad. It's the sound of clothes getting clean!!!

This washer is quite and gets the clothes clean. Switched from a front loader that seemed to get clothes clean but really didnt. LOVE the extra fill feature and spin cycle removes 95% of the rinse water. Making drying faster and requiring less energy usage. This thing is deep and you will need a step stool to reach the bottom if you a short stature person. So far 100% pleased..

We replaced a LG high end high efficiency washer that was 6 yrs old because it did not have a fill option and didn't use enough hot water to clean our clothes. The Maytag lets you fill up with hot, hot water all the way if needed. The agitator is the way to clean clothes and works like the old washers in the past. Clothes don't come out all twisted either! The old washer was always out of balance and sometimes took a long time to cycle. 3-4 loads in an afternoon. the Maytag did 8 loads of CLEAN clothes and dried quicker too in one afternoon.

We had a front load washer for 13yrs and I hated it. I really wanted to go back to a top load with an agitator. That's what we got and I'm loving it! Easy to understand settings. The one we brought home had a huge dent in it so I called the store and they took care of it. I used the dented one u tilt they could get a new one to me. It was delivered, the old one removed, and the newer one installed by Best Buy service personnel. They were very fast and efficient.

My old washing machine finally died, so of course I had to get a new one. I shopped online to find one first and I found one I liked. When I went to check it out in person they didn't have that one on display. The wonderful man at Best Buy guided me over to this one and we were sold. I liked it, but after getting it delivered and using it, I loved it. It was love at first wash

    Frustrating

When our expensive, front loader washer died, I said "never again" and vowed to buy an upright with an agitator. I did the best I could reviewing them, and ended up selecting this one because it has a "deep fill" option and a large capacity, among other things. One thing that was very important to me was to be able to safely put in a load of colors, dark clothes, or anything else, following a load of bleached whites--and not have to fear that there might be some bleach residue left in the washer that was not properly rinsed away, and have my subsequent load of clothes ruined with bleach spots. And even though it should not be necessary to do so, I would use the deep-fill setting to ensure that there was enough water to properly rinse away the bleach. I did a carefully controlled test, making sure I used only the recommended amounts of detergent and bleach. When it came time for the rinse cycle, imagine my frustration when I discovered that despite using 14" of water for washing, (that's all "deep-fill" gets you....14") the rinse cycle still only uses a paltry seven or eight inches. When I followed this white load with a load of dark clothes--sure enough--there were the white streaks, going down the leg of my husband's blue jeans, and down the front of one of his blue polo shirts. I am so aggravated. So what to do next?? It was still within the fourteen days that I had to return the machine if I was not happy with it. But then what? Get a different kind of weak, ineffectual machine that does the same thing? This is how they all are now! Nothing uses enough water to properly rinse the drum! When I was little, my mother and I had to haul our wash to the laundromat...but even there, the old style machines were sturdy and meant business. The hot water was HOT and "rinsed" meant rinsed completely. But you can't buy quality anymore. Salesmen will try to say that you can, but when you get your machine home, you will have what I got. In the end, I decided to keep the machine because I knew I wouldn't do any better. Now, I wash my white loads TWICE. Once with detergent to get them clean, and once without--on deep-fill--just to wash out the machine with 14" of water. So much for "water saving!" Another one of the more noticeable problems with the machine is that it does not heat water. The hottest the water will get is whatever comes out of your hot water heater. So good luck killing the e-coli when you wash a load of diapers. "Diapers" should actually be a setting on the machine.

First machine had to be returned due to a bad board. Best Buy replaced the machine for another within 3 days. Love new machine as it cleans cloths much better then the lg we replaced. The agitator does a good job moving clothes. Lastly, expect some different noises coming from this machine. They not an issue, but different from other machines that I have owned

I only write positive reviews. This is the best washer I have used in the last 30 years. As manufacturers eliminated wringers, and instituted mandated water conservation, the machines did a really poor job. This one has a wringer and the ability to wash clothes without shredding them. It does a good job of cleaning. The only thing missing is a rinse only cycle, but it does have a drain and spin if you have a heavy load that isn't spun out enough.
